Booked tow through AAA, site allowed meet to pick a time which i did, a few hours out. Coles called and said they could pick up immediately and told them could only do the orig time i requested and they agreed.. Left work and got home to wait and wait and then received a text saying tow was cancelled. I called Coles and got someone. They answered phone "hello" not even sure i had the correct business....i asked about the tow and the woman apparently held the phone out while someone in the back of the room yelled that you couldn't have pre-set pick up and some other things i couldn't make out, i didn't even realize they were talking to me until i heard "you got that?" needless to say not a very professional business to say the least. called AAA back and explained and they sent another company. read more

On July 14, 2024, GA DPS called Cole's out to tow our semi and trailer that was involved in an accident involving a fatality. When we get the invoice for towing our loaded tractor/trailer 15.7 miles, costing $63,550, I was blown away. I went to work to find out who regulates towing/heavy haul owners in GA. After exhausting many resources, I ended up calling the GA DPS post that called Cole's out to begin with. The Sgt. asked me to email the invoice over. He made a call to Cole's to inquire why the bill was so expensive considering, the tractor/trailer only needed to be straight pulled. He was told by Cole's, "When we go out to one of these wrecks, I charge the most. I charge as if it were flipped over and in a ditch. I do not negotiate with anyone with is not cutting the check to put in my pocket." Meanwhile, Sgt. had us calling around to other towing companies in the area and on the rotation list to enquire what they would charge. That fee was $5,000-$20,000. Well...someone must have called Cole's and given then the "heads up". Within minutes of Sgt. hanging up the phone, Cole's was calling US, (who they refused to speak with the 9 times I called) and telling us that the "girl in the office" made a mistake and the bill was only $7800! They sent the new invoice that still has questionable charges on it. But the .80 per pound to move out equipment is gone...as well as road cleanup. If you have a semi and see them nearby...call someone else. read more

Multiple calls by myself and USAA were ignored over the course of 4 hours after an ETA of 75 min was originally projected. I used that company a month ago with my truck. They charged me 690 to go to the street. Out of desperation, I paid it knowing it was too much. Today 4/2/2024 my other truck went down. I dreaded it but called coles anyway to see have things.changed. once I gave my info, I asked for the charge of the tow. He put me on brief hold. When he came back, he quoted me 690 dollars again. I am 20 minutes away from my tow destination. I asked him how are the charges calculated and he said out of town fees, credit card fees, hourly fees and other small.charges. since when tow trucks don't work off miles? I told them I would find other services. I called griffin and griffin and now I'm paying 430. Thus company is crooked and scammers. If they feel you're in desperate need, they will take advantage of you. I will never use this company or recommend them to anyone. And you wonder why us brothers don't stick together. Do NOT use this company! If I could give 0 stars, I would. I was visiting family in Columbus, GA when my car broke down. I called my insurance for roadside assistance, and my insurance contracted Cole Towing. Because my drop off location was 125 miles away, I was responsible for paying the overage of 25 miles. On the phone, the driver from Cole Towing told me that it would be $4 per mile, for a total of $100. Great, no problem. When he arrived and it was time to pay, he went to his car to get the payment device so that I could pay via debit card. When he walked back, he said he called dispatch to double check the price and that instead of the $100 initially quoted, the price would be $200. This was the first strike- and I should have called my insurance right then and there to send out another tow truck provider. I paid the $200 and let them take the car, which in hindsight was a big mistake on my part. The car was picked up at 7p on a Saturday. The driver asked if I wanted it to be taken back to Atlanta that night, or in the morning. I told him I wanted it to be taken back that night. My mechanic was in Atlanta waiting for it, and I was unable to leave Columbus until the next day. 3 hours passed with no update that my car has arrived (the location was only 2 hours away). I called the driver and he did not answer. I then called the office who told me that the driver was in traffic on I-185N due to an accident and that he took a one hours lunch break before getting on the road. (I checked the traffic on google maps and also called the police department who stated that there were no reported accidents along this route). My insurance got involved and tried contacting Cole Towing and they stopped answering my calls and the calls of the insurance company. (My car never made it to Atlanta that night.) So I had no clue where they were with it or what was going on. I finally went to sleep at about 1:30am when the insurance escalated my ticket after trying to reach Cole Towing for hours. Around 9am the next morning, the insurance said that I needed to file a police report because they were unable to get in touch with Cole Towing and they did not know the whereabouts of my car. Finally at noon the next day, the tow truck driver calls to tell me that he's there to drop off my car in Atlanta, stating that somebody else was driving the night before and that they had to turn back around and take my car back to the shop. He couldn't tell me "what happened" or any additional details, as to why the car did not arrive in Atlanta until noon the next day. I spoke with Johnathan on the phone as well, who did not provide any additional information as to why the car did not make it to Atlanta until noon the next day. He stated that he was unable to speak with me in any more detail on the matter, and to have my lawyer to reach out to him. Unfortunately, that's exactly what is happening, and my lawyers are having to get involved. The process has already been started for Cole Towing to be dropped from two of my insurance providers. Do yourself a favor and do not use them, even if your insurance provider calls them for you. read more

My car broke down on 185 in Columbus on 9/26/2021, and AAA called this towing company so I could get my car off the side of the highway and try to figure out what the problem was. After finding out that I had to take it to my mechanic back in Atlanta, I AAA called this company again and they have no honesty or truth in them. I waited from 8am until my son drove from Atlanta to pick me up at 11pm still waiting on this sorry ass company. I got a call from AAA this morning and they told me that the tow truck was en route to pick up my vehicle and would be there at 10:25 am. The time is now 1:03, and their rudeness, lies and breakdown of communication has me stuck because now they claim they don't tow to Atlanta (Hampton) and expects me to pay out of pocket because of their contract with AAA doesn't pay them what they want to get paid. I damn sure wouldn't recommend this company to pick up a tri-cycle with a flat tire, more less a car because they will continue to lie and say that they are on the way and you will never have your car waiting on this UNPROFESSIONAL ASS COMPANY!!!! Worst customer service! Went through insurance to schedule. Was told would be there at 4 - 430. They called at 345 and said it would be an hour and half The service shop closed at 6 where I was towing my car. They said they would make it Called back at 500 asking for an update and was told I needed to go back through my insurance company to get someone closer. Then the tow truck driver called and said he could make it in time. Change the destination to my house to at least get it out from where it was - tow truck driver never showed up! read more

Last night a doe jumped onto front of car on HWY 315 between Ellerslie and Cataula ga. Got to Dollar General and realized she had crushed grille, lights and part of radiator. How can they still be in business? DO NOT USE! If your roadside service program tells you that they are using Cole's, tell them NO! While my son was on his way home from an Army deployment, my daughter in law's car broke down on her way to pickup children from school, and then to the airport for a reunion. She called USAA at 3:11PM for towing service. At 4:20PM Cole's dispatch called to say that they would "be about another 20 minutes." At 5:18PM USAA called Dependable Towing to see if they could get there sooner. They arrived at 6:40PM. When I called Cole's, at 5:15PM, the dispatcher sounded angry with me, and repeated, "I SAID I WAS SORRY!" He didn't sound very concerned about the situation. If USAA doesn't stop doing business with Cole's I will stop using their roadside assistance program. Cole's not only NEVER showed up, they continued to lie that they were "almost there". Would given them 0 stars if I could. 2 of my tires blew this morning at 9 am and this towing company got assigned to me by Hyundai roadaisde assistance. I was told It's okay to leave the car by the side of the highway since it would take them 60-90 minutes to arrive. For the next 3 hours, I was constantly back and forth between Cole towing (who it's impossible to reach) and my service dealership since the car had not reached the service station. The dispatcher (Cole?) kept stating that they'd dropped off the key at the service station and it was in the parking lot and someone from their team would drive up to the service station to figure out the location. After no useful response, I got a ride to the spot where I'd left my car and at 12.50 pm: it was still there!!! This guy had been lying to me straight up about having my car picked up. Never have I experienced such unprofessional behavior. I hope hyundai stops using this towing service. read more
