I needed repair on the front end and driver side door on my car , the man who towed my car…read morerecommended Leatherwoods and not being from the area, I took his advice. Big mistake. Leatherwoods took over 3 weeks to repair my car. They never once called to update me on the progress and every time I called to check, the receptionist had no idea what was going on. It took them 3 business days to even look at my car and assess the damage. Twice I was told I would be called back by the man doing the repairs, but I never was. I always had to call again. And when my car was finally finished, they didn't even call me to let me know. I called them to see how much longer and after being out on hold for 5 monies I was told it was ready. When I went to pick up my car, the paperwork had been dated for 2 days previous. Implying my car had been ready for 2 days and I was never called. And then to top it all off, they cashed my check for my deductible 3 months later. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Worst service I have ever received in my life.

My husband asked me to take the truck by & get an estimate for painting. The man who gives the…read moreestimates was leaning up against a car when I drove up. He saw me get out of the truck, heard me ask one of the employees who gives the estimates. I started toward him & he walked into the shop. I stood by the truck for over 10 minutes thinking he was coming back. Wrong.I went into the office & the receptionist said he would be with me in a few minutes. After waiting 25 minutes she went into his office, which adjoins hers, where he had been sitting the entire time. She came back in & said "are you in the truck?" Yes I am. He said he doesn't have time to give you an estimate.I asked if I needed an appointment for an estimate, she said no. I asked if I should come back later, all she said was No. I was ignored & dismissed. Not a good way to treat a potential client. If anyone from Leatherwood & sons reads this, Shame On You For Treating Me Like That. Good Manners don't cost a thing.

It only needed one thing cut on it to make it fit with the stock tow option, w/o that the bumper was a direct bolt on. Well we get past all that and a week goes by i get a call to come get the truck. The truck has Orange peel (which i'm told is good and vehicles come from the factory like this) also has ruff spots and still scratches that were not painted right. that was on a Friday. Monday i'm called and told the truck is not ready, Still same things are not fixed on the vehicle. Finally i'm called again to come get the truck, and still some ruff stops and 3 spots that i see where there was some sort of dust in the paint and caused a spot or dent in the paint. Also scratch still not fixed and the Orange Peel that is normal and most vehicles come from the factory with orange peel. I paid them the money the insurance company gave me to have it painted. I get home show the bill which is chicken scratch on paper to the wife. She compares it to the original that was given to USAA and she found out we were over charged about $150, so she calls and talk's to them about it and told Helms Brothers that we were charged for Tax on the parts and only should of been charged for Tax on the labor. Today i get a call from Helms Brothers with them wanting me to bring the truck into there shop again to have a usaa Rep look at it and them fix it right. I told Max the owner that this is not going to happen, as another local shop who gave me an estimate to have it fixed right has the truck and its on the lift finishing up the bumpers. That my truck would not be coming back there because the bumper would have to come off in order for it to get fixed right and they are not touching my truck again. Max the owner is very understanding and trying to make things right...however he does not understand how business works or should work at times. Matt the shop manager is a fat redneck with no education and has no idea how to do a damn thing correct. I would not let this guy paint a flat piece of wood with a can of spray paint as he'd mess it up. Please if you have USAA go some place esle.

It was still misaligned when they 'fixed' it, and gave it back to us. We finally had to have the insurance agent accompany us to the shop to make sure they fixed everything.
