Town of Colebrook - The 2024 eclipse as seen from northern New Hampshire

Colebrook is a quaint mountain town in the very north of New Hampshire.... You can literally drive…read morehalf an hour and be in Canada! It is as picturesque as you imagine, surrounded by beautiful mountains and even has a small park with a waterfall that looks straight out of a vacation video. One drawback is the cold weather. It legit snows here straight through May. The one thing that is NOT "cute" is the main road that runs right through the center of it. It is a highway frequent by 18 wheelers carrying goods across the country. Stephen King's sister lives here and I think this might be the road featured in pet Sematary. THE DEAL: if you love the mountains, Colebrook is your kind of town. Simply pick a place off the main highway for video-worthy views!

We chatted…read morewith several people who gave us great directions to not only Beaver Brook Falls but also on how to drive to Canada since its only a few miles away! We stopped at a couple of places and everyone was super nice to us. The park offers a bathroom too. Summary: A nice quaint town near the border that has more to offer than you realize. Well worth the trip up. Even though we didn't see any Moose (Although we did meet someone who had photos of one).

Sugar Bear has a penchant for the unusual. In flipping through our tour book (Off the Beaten…read morePath-Vermont), he came upon the Spider Web Farm and immediately added it to our agenda for the following day. I have to admit, this was probably our most interesting find on our trip. Will Knight began his business in the 1970's as a cabinet maker. He began hobbying with spider webs by spray painting them and affixing them to recycled pieces of wood. Once laminated, these became unique works of spider art. He soon became a spider web farmer full time. His knowledge about the spiders who weave webs on his farm is immense and he loves to share. The art is available in his store in various sizes and different shades of wood. We took home a gorgeous web on black wood. This is a most unique farm, and definitely worth the drive to check it out.

He does not charge you anything unless you buy one of his pictures. His pricing method is unique (ask him) but still the are is unique I would not drive all the way there but if you are in the area or about 30 min away take the time to drop in or make a detour since this is once again a very unique art and a very spacial man. Great for kids and adults.

I actually drove an hour out of my way just to get this maple creemee -- I had visited a few years ago and had been dreaming about it ever since. Thankfully, it did not disappoint. The maple creemee was incredible -- unbelievably delicious, rich, and perfectly creamy with an authentic maple flavor that completely lives up to the hype. Easily one of the best maple treats you'll find anywhere. The maple syrup tasting was both informative and fun. The staff did a fantastic job explaining the different syrup grades and flavor profiles, and it was fascinating to taste how much they vary. Everything felt fresh, high-quality, and clearly made with care. The grounds themselves are beautiful, especially in winter. With a deep blanket of snow covering the landscape, the farm felt peaceful, scenic, and exactly what you hope for when visiting Vermont in February. If you're anywhere near Montpelier or Barre, Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks is absolutely worth the stop -- for the experience, the views, and one unforgettable maple creemee.

Bought some of their delicious maple syrup, a couple regular bottles and a verity pack. We got a couple creamees nice on a humid day. Went out and about and watched an educational video on how they get the sap from the trees. There is some equipment in that same area which is cool to see. It's Very rustic surroundings, you can tell this is where hard work is done. We walked on the trail to see how the hoses run down from the trees to the barn gathering the sap from the trees. Wishing them nothing but the best with their up coming season for their business.

You are presented with a treat at each stop. It's a fun experience which we are attending for the third time in four years (2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic.) You're not stopping at a chocolatier at each stop. You're stopping at establishments that put a great deal of time preparing for this as well as running their own business. So give them a break, sit back, and enjoy. It's really that simple.

I really think that the tour itself was beautiful however I wish the horses had a little bit more of a break because they just go back to back tours. When we started on the tour we only went on about seven stops. One of them was a super sweet lady from Jackson inn and her chocolate was a marshmallow dip chocolate. The rest were lackluster one of them was a small brownie that wasn't wrapped at all which made me not want to eat it given this time and age. The rest was kind of bark and a bar that was like really hard. I do wish the chocolate was a little different such as like fancy peppermint or caramel or something However the tour is today for in such a cute little town I didn't know had so many inns And I love that the places do it for free I mean I know they help they get business but they still do it
