I visited Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks in February 2026, and it was an absolutely wonderful Vermont experience. I actually drove an hour out of my way just to get this maple creemee -- I had visited a few years ago and had been dreaming about it ever since. Thankfully, it did not disappoint. The maple creemee was incredible -- unbelievably delicious, rich, and perfectly creamy with an authentic maple flavor that completely lives up to the hype. Easily one of the best maple treats you'll find anywhere. The maple syrup tasting was both informative and fun. The staff did a fantastic job explaining the different syrup grades and flavor profiles, and it was fascinating to taste how much they vary. Everything felt fresh, high-quality, and clearly made with care. The grounds themselves are beautiful, especially in winter. With a deep blanket of snow covering the landscape, the farm felt peaceful, scenic, and exactly what you hope for when visiting Vermont in February. Visited Morse Farm off season, but still enjoyed the stop and the break from the road trip. Staff was very nice and helpful. Did the maple syrup tasting and loved it. Bought some of their delicious maple syrup, a couple regular bottles and a verity pack. We got a couple creamees nice on a humid day. Went out and about and watched an educational video on how they get the sap from the trees. There is some equipment in that same area which is cool to see. It's Very rustic surroundings, you can tell this is where hard work is done. We walked on the trail to see how the hoses run down from the trees to the barn gathering the sap from the trees. Close to the Vermont State House and downtown Montpelier, Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks is a great stop if you're looking to get some authentic maple syrup. I was a little bummed that there was no farm tour but they provide you an informational video and plenty of maple syrup to sample. What blew me away was how nice and generous Tim was. He took time out of his day to show us around and even gave my husband & I some sugar maple candy to sample as well as answered any of the questions that we had. Their maple soft service ice cream (maple creemee) was also really really good! It tasted so light and fresh! After having the Morse Farm syrup with our breakfast at the B&B we were staying in, I immediately came to Morse Farm to pick some up to go. Unfortunately, we were only traveling with a carry on so could only buy ones under 3.4 oz that would fit in my Ziploc bag. I am so glad that they had a maple syrup tasting area as I originally picked up the light ones to buy only to find I enjoyed the darker ones better so got to switch. Being in Montpelier for an overnight last minute after a funeral meant I didn't have time to do research and missed out on the Maple Creamie. Too bad I can't get those shipped. Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks is a local staple. It has been around for 8 generations and they make the most delicious pure maple syrup which is available for purchase in their gift shop. Also in the shop you can purchase Vermont souvenirs, cookbooks from Burr Morse himself, and delicious creamees. You can also do a free maple tasting to get an idea of which flavors you like. On the grounds you can also watch a video about the process of tapping maple trees. The video is captivating and comical as Burr Morse tells the story of the farm. The views are wonderful and there are trails to walk along on the farm (although we didn't have time for this). Give yourself about an hour to spend here. We had a super sweet visit to this country, sugar, shack, and all things maple syrup store. Admittedly, it was the name of the business and the great readings that pulled us in. My husband's last name is Morse and we were curious to find if there were any connections to his family up in the area. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and eager to educate. We had a lovely, small complementary tasting before making our way through the store. We especially enjoyed learning the history of the property and it's part in the modernization of maple syrup production. We ended up purchasing a sampler pack of maple syrup along with another bottle to take home. We were traveling with backpacks so I probably would've purchased more. Overall, a sweet and fun visit that we would highly recommend as you make your way through the Vermont countryside. read more

We were in the area visiting different sugar houses, and this one would be a fun experience for kids. They have chairs where you can sit and relax while enjoying your treats. We sampled their syrups and creemees, but unfortunately, they had my least favorite creamee. The ice cream was gritty and not smooth. This was the only sugar house where we didn't purchase any syrup, as it was not my favorite overall. However, we did buy some spicy maple nuts from here, which were delicious! I LOVED that a family member is talking & handing out the maple syrup to the visitors. The old house is the gift shop and sweets shop. If you get a maple creamee , be sure to get the maple granules sprinkled on top. Watch the movie and take a little walk to see the pipes that are still hooked to the trees. Sadly, because we were there in the middle of the afternoon, many of the maple products were not on the shelves any longer. Came here with my buddies they are like my brothers. If you don't have any brothers that is ok go get you some. I got me some in my blood and in my brotherhood. This place is top notch if you with your brothers. My first ever creamie experience and we got the dust on it and it was crazy so crazy my buddies went back to get another and one of them got dust the other one said "no dust for me I already dusted up" Also they get you water cups for free which is big because I have been dehydrated the past couple of days. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by Morse Farms. I would however not recommend going out of your way to stop here. The store is nice and full of maple and other local items. Make sure to grab a thing or two of maple syrup. We enjoyed tasting 3-4 syrups at the free samples stand and learning the difference in flavor and why that was the case. The video of the farm and process is nice. You can walk up a trail and see some trees that are ready to be used to get syrup. Nice goats on property. Absolutely the best maple syrup I've ever had. They have gifts, different types of maple syrup (light to dark!), and TASTINGS! I thought for sure I'd be a DARK maple syrup sorta gal, but was shocked to find I preferred the medium color way more for day to day use! (The dark tasted a lot more like honey) Definitely take some photos, there's a huge view of beautiful trees from front door. This was a fun, unique place to stop. The area is pretty small you are likely to stay about 20-40 min at this farm. We got to sample several different types of maple syrup. They have several items in the store with maple in it (nuts, candy, etc.) along with lots of syrup for purchase. You can look around outside they have some art and a spot where you can see where they make the syrup. We got maple soft serve ice-cream. It just tasted like vanilla, unfortunately. Stopped at Morse farm on my way out of Vermont and had the famous creeme along with a quick maple syrup sampling. The view from the farm is stunning and the out back farm has a nice video recording with the history of the farm and the process of making maple syrup. This farm gave me a different vibe as I walked in. It doesn't scream home and homemade to me. Whereas, it is a place to just buy things like maple syrup, maple of all things and more, and most highlighted was they have creemes. The creeme us very weak as compared to other creemes we tried. My son says it tasted like vanilla. I only taste the maple taste in my first lick then the rest tasted like vanilla. Nevertheless, we had to get some maple syrup and hubby grabbed the maple seltzer from the fridge. It was a taste that we never has before. It was a pleasant surprise. Likely maple taste and like seltzer which I enjoyed. If any one knows where to get this in NY, please let me know. I am craving the taste again and I am not a seltzer drinker. This is the only seltzer flavors I ever liked. The people are not as nice in my opinion which is weird to me because all the farms I have been to in Vermont the people are very nice and jolly beside this one. Maybe it was one of THOSE days. Visited in the summer during a road trip through New England. We arrived close to closing, so we didn't get to make a trek back to see the trees. That being said, I was happy to be able to get a creamee and to see the store and many of the exhibits. The employees were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed my creamee as well. When I started to research things to do in New England, I kept seeing this spot pop up for their maple creemee and knew I had to try it. I ended up getting a small of this iconic soft-serve ice cream and even the small was a lot. If you have a sweet tooth, this is definitely for you! I was content with a few bites, which isn't to say that I didn't like it. I just can never handle a ton of sweetness at once, but it was well worth trying for a unique Vermont treat. Five stars for the maple creemee and the views. The trail was much shorter than we thought it would be. The video room was pretty small, and there weren't staff about the tank room. Two stars for the inattentive staff at the store/ice cream shop more concerned with talking to each other than being kind to customers and moving the line along. Regardless, we enjoyed the treats we got here and the maple syrup was really great. I only had one other creemee to compare to but the flavor of this one was really pleasant. I've since seen there are other similar sugarwork farms with stores, so if we came back I'd probably try elsewhere before coming here but I'd still say the product was good. read more
