Drove over an hour with my daughter to look at a car she was interested in. She had money to put down and was preapproved thru her own bank. We were told up front about how every car came with "three oil changes, car wash, blah, blah"...essentially maybe $150 worth of services for which they were adding $999 to the vehicle's price. She said SHE DID NOT WANT that service. We get to the end of negotiations & I ask what the $999 charge for CPS was. The salesperson stated it was for the "car protection service" that comes with every car. We spent HOURS at the dealership, took multiple dings as the manager ran both my daughter's credit and my own repeatedly only to walk out without a car b/c she wouldn't pay for a service she didn't want. read more

The worst place to go for service on your truck. Nothing was explained about my vehicle afterwards. The woman really didn't even know what was going on. She gave me the paperwork. Told me to go over and pay I come out. My car is just sitting there nobody's there with my car. Even the lady that I paid with didn't know anything. I was asking questions and she was just kind of snobby and rude. There was no communication at this place. The worst of all I come out in my car wasn't even washed and I go to the one in Texarkana at least they wash my car. Yeah when I get there my appointment was at 8:30. I got there early at 8:00. Nobody came out to me. I had to go into them. There was one man there was busy with another lady. Had to sit around and wait for some other lady to come on to work and do my paperwork and never talk to anybody. There was no communication going on at all. I saw the negative reviews on Yelp, but there weren't many, so we took a chance to go look at a car at Coleman Chevrolet (New Boston, Texas). We had spoken to John who stated the car was still there. We are looking for a first car for our teenage "new driver." We don't want to spend a fortune, which I know is relative, because the odds are pretty high that the car may get into a tussle with .. something. So we drove two hours from Dallas to look at the car. We drove it, and inspected it. There was some minor damage/dings to the body, interior looked very good, but a there was a shimmy when you got the car to a certain speed. Breaks needed work. All in all, a decent car that we knew going in would need some work and would have no warranty. For the price listed ($17,800) or even a little less, we felt it was a fair deal. We talk it over and then go in to speak with John. John tells us pretty quickly that that price (the one still advertised on their website site that I just took a photo of to include with this post) is really higher because they've "done some things" to the car. And even though this is their own website, John says they can't make changes to it so they weren't able to edit the price listed on the website. Pretty quickly I'm seeing 'red flags.' AND .. before we even know the price or agree on any number, he makes it very clear they want us to consider using their financing. We had already gotten approval from our Credit Union for any financing, and they usually have the best rates. So John leaves and comes back and has written on a piece of paper ($18,880 "with financing"). Then he proceeds to say they replaced the windshield and did some body repairs. Funny, that was exactly $1000 more than the advertised price. I said "John, this is really weird. I've been buying cars for a long time and I've never seen a price for a specific car advertised and then go in to find out they've raised the price. You knew we were coming from Dallas, so why didn't you mention the price is actually higher than advertised." John said "well, why didn't you ask?" The insanity of that hit me pretty quickly. My husband was looking right at the website when he called John and was told the car was still available. He was looking right at the listed price so why would he ask if it was a real price? Maybe it's a silly assumption, but we do assume that if a price changes, the dealership will make the edit. So I told John, "this seems kind of.... " and I was trying to think of a nice way to say it, but before I could finish my sentence, John said "Deceptive?" And I said, "yeah, deceptive. Thank you." Honestly, at this point I was done. Then John said he was going to go talk to his manager, and when he left, I told my husband that I couldn't deal with them and that I was going outside. The only shot they had at selling us that car was to at least put it at the listed price, but selfishly, I decided my husband would have to finish that discussion and I left. I just went outside. I saw my husband only a few minutes later and he said the final price John came back with was $18,500 - still $700 over the price advertised (and it still is advertised at that price!) John also kept talking about the financing. How can we even discuss financing at all when we can't buy the car for the price tag you have on it? I really got the impression that once they knew we had our own financing, they did not care at all about selling that car to us. They also looked up other similar cars and their prices to base their cost on, but some of those had 1) more upgrades and a higher level 2) less mileage and 3) who knows what else. Fortunately, when we set off, it was on a nice Saturday morning and we viewed it as a couples road trip. Maybe we would return with a car, maybe not. So not much sweat off our backs, honestly. Most of my own disappointment stems from the fact that these are people who are obviously trying to take advantage of people. I would imagine their financing comes with higher rates. Some people are desperate and really need a car and may not be able to get their own financing. To lure people in with one number, only to spring a higher number on them, is a mean spirited way to make money. I feel bad for John because he could have sold that car today and he didn't. He could have had us as future customers and he won't. Hopefully, whoever reads this won't put themselves through the same disappointment. read more

Do not use this dealership. Never have we ever met sales people so rude and degrading. John, the sales manager, cut me off every time I tried to ask a question. All the sales people told us they were ready to make a deal with us, and they sent us home. The next day, Allen, the financial guy, called saying they want us to pay for a $4,000 warranty or they had another person who wanted to buy the vehicle. It is a waste of time, and they bounce your credit all around to lower your score. We wish we would have never walked into Coleman Cheverolet. read more

Do not trust their service department especially the service manager. They will lie to you. Charge you for expensive parts that do not even repair the problem. Then lie to cover themselves. We paid over $1300 to get our truck fixed. And the very next morning after we picked it up it was still having the same issue. Took it back. When we got it back again the "repair" only lasted three days before the truck still had same issue. Basically they kept the truck almost 30 days. Charged us a ridiculous amount of money. And didn't even fix anything. We still had to get it repaired at another place. They wouldn't even give us our old part back to get it checked. We are now in the process of small claims court. These people are a joke. They will not be honest with you. And if you have any problems they will not work with you. Stay far far away read more

We were traveling from Waco back home to Indianapolis last Thursday. Our power steering started going out. We called ahead since they were the next Chevrolet dealership we were coming to. Was advised they could check out the car. When we got there, they had a look and confirmed the power steering pump was shot. Despite us getting there in the afternoon, the staff stayed late and worked on the disassembly. The next morning parts arrived, and we were back on the road just after lunch. Michael, in the service department, kept us updated on progress of the repairs, arranged for a ride to/from the hotel, and apprised us of progress on the warranty claim. Despite being travelers that were unlikely to visit them again, they took great care of us! read more

On 1/12/2023 I called this dealership in reference to a preowned 2021 Toyota Camry. I live 1.5 hours away so I wanted to confirm the car was still available. I spoke with Salesman John Clack and he advised the car was still available and was a popular new arrival but no one had put a deposit on it yet. Upon arrival at the dealership I looked the car over and test drove. It seemed fine. I ask the salesman to figure up the best out the door price. He explained that they (dealership) add $995.00 on top of every unit in the parking lot for a 3m paint coating etc. and furthermore do not negotiate. I was a bit put off by this but was willing to pay . I was ready to move forward and told him I was paying cash and would not be financing. The salesman said they do not allow outside financing and I would be required to finance a minimum of $7500.00 throigh the dealership. I told him I did not need to finance. He said that is their policy, I must purchase the car on their terms.I replied "so I can't buy this car" he said no. I thanked him and left. As I drove I thought maybe he misunderstood. I called him back and again he confirmed I must finance or he can not sell me the car. I had never in my years heard of a dealership refusing to sell a car unless you financed. I called back and spoke with the owner Michael Coleman. He confirmed everything the salesman said. He further stated they make more money financing the vehicles as oppose to cash sales. He said they had 2 other people interested in the car. I asked him if they had put a deposit down and he replied no. I explained I was somewhat upset because I just drove 1.5 hours and called before I left and the salesman did not mention this. He said that was the fault of the salesman. Basically if you want to purchase a vehicle from Coleman Chevrolet,Dodge etc.be prepared to finance or go somewhere else. I suggest the latter. Jeff read more

They had exactly the car I wanted so I drove an hour to buy the car. Kyle McNiel was great to deal with. They demonstrated a willingness to work with me. They were courteous and quick. In fact its the quickest I've ever been in and out of car dealership and the first time I felt like a salesman wasn't trying to swindle me every step of the way. My only complaint is that the car I bought has an alignment problem, but I knew that when I bought the car. I bought it on a Saturday afternoon so there wasn't a mechanic on hand to fix it. I was told they would look into finding a way for me to get it aligned at my local Chevy dealership. Given my experience at Coleman Chevy I have no doubt that they will do everything they can for me in that regard, even if I end up having to drive back to New Boston to get the alignment done. I'll definitely be back for my next car. Update: Giving Coleman Motors a one star upgrade to 5 stars. They offered to come to my hometown with a loaner and drive my car back to their dealership to get the alignment fixed, and then drive it back to my hometown. Turns out I had to head up that way anyway and drove it in myself and they fixed my alignment Excellent company to work with, not too many out there like this anymore. After 15 months and 18,000 miles of owning the Chevy Volt, i have had zero problems with it have had to get zero oil changes so far, and i'm averaging over 350 MPG's. Love this car and will be upgrading to the Gen 2 volt as soon as i can. read more

My vehicle was serviced with the last free oil change and tire rotation at 24,000 miles on 9/27/17. Before the service was complete I received a call about needing to replace my cabin filter and engine air filter. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I noticed the service tech had left a pile of dirt in my floor board from the cabin filter replacement. Also he chipped the paint on the drivers side rear fender while rotating my tires, and he scratched my drivers side door. When I called back about the issues, Coleman Chevrolet's service department could have cared less about fixing my issues, or that their careless service techs scratch my vehicle. They did polish the scratches and said it was fixed. However, I noticed it did not remove the scratches. I said screw it and left the dealership. I will never purchase another vehicle from Coleman Chevrolet again, or will I ever use their service department. The employees are rude and could care less about you as a customer that spends $45,000 plus on a new truck. I will do my business with ORR in the future. I will also recommend to everyone I know, not to use Coleman Chevrolet. The 2 filters that were replaced plus the fender paint chip, and the door scratches cost me over $60. I guess that's about right! If I do not receive a call from someone at Coleman Chevrolet regarding this survey, then that tells me everything I need to know about Coleman Chevrolet's thoughts on customer satisfaction. read more
