I have to say that even through Covid times, the team at CC did great to accommodate the club members. It all took a turn when the management team shifted around 2023 and it's really not worth visiting for a tasting anymore. We have dropped the club and don't enjoy the visits when we have tried going and giving them another chance twice now. No real experience and care for patrons from the staff. The staff seem to care more about their side conversations with each other or their cell phones instead of engaging visitors in dialogue. read more

This California Cab girl is having a major love affair with Oregon Pinot at the moment. It's been well over a decade since I've appreciated it the way I seem to be lately. I knew I wanted to celebrate my birthday exploring Williamette Valley. Knowing close to zero about this region other than Oregon Pinots tasting so good to me lately, I asked a sommelier friend for some suggestions and made bookings solely off of his list. Colene Clemens was first and made such a lovely impression. It was a cool and very foggy morning, which made for such a cozy experience. The fireplace was on and the staff were so warm and friendly. I learned a little about the AVAs out this way, which I always appreciate in a region I've never visited. Everything we tasted here was outstanding. I may soon be joining a bunch of Oregon wine clubs because I need these in my life right now. They pair so well with everything, maybe my palate is changing or maybe I hadn't had any Oregon Pinot in so long I forgot how much I loved it. Don't tell Napa I'm cheating on them! One of my absolutely favorite wineries and always a stop whenever we can when visiting from the SF Bay Area. Knowing that my group of three would be arriving after 4 pm we were happy to settle with a glass of wine as opposite blasting through a tasting. My companions each had a glass of Rose' and I had a glass of 2021 Victoria Pinot Noir. As expected, it was fabulous. I've had four or five vintages of Victoria over the years and it never disappoints. The winery and the views are stunning. The staff are fantastic. We visited 3 other wineries afterward, but none of them came close to our experience at Colene Clemens. Wine, people, view - all wonderful at Colene Clemens. It's well worth the drive to the valley! I have been to Colene Clemens a few times now and have always enjoyed the great service. I enjoy their wine and brought more home than I intended the past few trips. Oops. ;) I just joined their wine club because I consistently have been enjoying their pinots and rosés. I highly recommend this place to friends and have brought any wine drinking family and friends to the tasting room that I can so they can also experience the wonderful space and wines. Colene Clemens is so welcoming and comfortable. When you walk in it immediately feels inviting. There are comfy chairs and a fireplace. It was a roaring fire going when I visited in fall because it was a bit chilly and rainy out. The view from the property is beautiful. Walk around outside with a glass and enjoy. They also have bistro tables outside you can sit at. Bring a snack or lunch. Do a tasting, but a glass or bottle and enjoy the outdoor patio that looks out on the valley. We literally needed to expand our view, so we made an online appointment to have a tasting at Colene Clemens. First, the setting is absolutely gorgeous, which always makes tasting wine even more pleasant. They did all the Covid19 precautions, so it felt pretty safe. The wines were already poured before we got to our table, and our server stood back and told us all about the vineyard and the wines. There were four on the menu, and all were really good. The Chardonnay that we tasted was really different than others I've had. It had a little bit of butter and oak, but not too much, and it was very pleasant. It felt like a perfect blend of a good buttery chardonnay with a good steel-fermented one. We also loved the pinots and rosé, and ended up going home with an assortment of everything. The best part is that this get-away is less than an hour from the city! read more

We hadn't been wine tasting in the Willamette Valley in a few years, so we were due, and my mother recommended Colene Clemens. Their focus is on Pinot noir, but I'm no longer a red wine person. You know what I'm talking about right? We've all had those episodes that make us swear we'll never consume X again...well, that's me and my relationship with red wine in a nutshell. X = red wine for me. Anyway, we sampled 6 wines in our flight, and I approached it all with an open mind. Fast forward to an hour later and I had fallen in love with their Rose of Pinot noir. Very light, not too sweet, not too dry, not too sparkly/carbonated. It was just right. It was SO right that we ended up purchasing a case of it take home to Florida! My husband is finicky and frugal and never ready to spend a bunch of money on wine (he's not much of a wine drinker, actually), but...seeing my love for this wine, he could not pass up the purchase. The kicker was that the gal who was helping us informed us that wine ships FREE on Alaska! So, we checked our case of wine (Colene Clemens packed it for us!) just like we'd check our luggage. The case of wine made it safely from Portland to Seattle to Ft. Lauderdale, and here I am now back at home drinking a glass of their Rose' as I type this. Friendly and knowledgeable staff is really what makes this winery a great destination, but their Rose' is an added bonus for this (pointing to me!) non red wine drinker! read more

People that live in Oregon are so lucky. Gorgeous views, gorgeous vineyards and excellent wine. While staying overnight in McMinnville, Oregon we met some lovely locals and asked them for suggestions for what wineries to visit the next day. Practically every single one of them suggested Colene Clemens Vineyards. I would like to thank each and every one of them for their suggestion. You take a long and winding road to get to the vineyard, but it is so worth it! When we got to the top, we couldn't stop taking photos of the view, but finally made our way into the tasting room. What a tasting room it was! It was everything I could want in a wine tasting room...a roaring fire, comfy seats, gorgeous views out the windows and friendly server! Just as perfect as the wine tasting room was the wine! We loved every single wine that was poured! We loved it so much that we bought two bottles to ship home (we only ship back home a case so for one winery to get two bottles is a big deal!) We shipped home the 2013 Adriane Pino Noir and the 2013 Margo Pinot Noir. Wonderful wine, wonderful tasting room, wonderful views. read more

I am an avid winery goer and have been to more wineries that I can remember but unfortunately my worst experience by far was in Colene Clemens Vineyards. The view is nice but the staff is with attitude, very unwelcoming and pushy. A little training on communication skills would help. Besides that I've never been to a winery that would offer only 3 tastings for $20, in most places it is 6 and for smaller price. My advise look somewhere else. read more

I am a former long term Colene Clemons Premier Red club member. The wine is good. The customer service in the past has been adequate. I was appalled by the treatment I received November 7. I cancelled my club membership at the time. I subsequently wrote an email to two different email addresses. One address is listed on their site. I didn't even get the courtesy of a response. My investment with them was approximately $2,000 per year for membership in their club. There are other good wineries with great views and outstanding customer service. I suggest taking the alternative to Colene Clemons. read more

Visitng a nearby winery, we were recommended to visit Colene Clemens and their new tasting room. After a 10 minute drive, much of it on a scenic dirt road, we arrived at the property. Perched high on a steep hill surrounded by vineyards, Colene Clemens makes a great first impression. The tasting room is on top of the hill with a large patio and great views. The tasting room is impressive, with a mix of stone and wood, that compliments the surrounding landscape. Be sure to visit with the winery pooch, who loves to play with her blanket and will even invite you to a little tug of war! This is a newer winery that has yet to get a foothold in the area. But after tasting their product it will not be long until they are a force to be dealt with. We liked all of their wines, but chose some of the Estate Pinot for our meal that evening, we enjoyed every drop. Well balanced, the wines have a nice level of acidity but also display a nice fruit note. If you are in the area, make the trip to visit this winery. read more

Reserve Pinot Noir 2008 - balanced, good aroma, decent length, no personality e.g. very muted, shy, playing it too safe. Nice establishment, worth visiting and sharing a bottle while enjoying the views. $10 tasting fee also pretty steep for tasting only 2 wines. I would suggest just getting a bottle of the Reserve. WOW!!! This was one of the most gorgeous wineries I've been too. It has a modern mountain lodge look to the exterior and interior. The wine room staff was welcoming and helpful. I went with a group whom brought their own lunches. We sat out on the patio and tasted through their '08 and '09 Pinot Noir and we were VERY fortunate to try their Pinot Noir Rose (which I bought a case of). I'm so thankful our guide, Wayne the Wine Wizard, took us there. Colene Clemens has something going on up there, and I can't wait to see, be a part of, and taste more of it. read more

I finally had the pleasure of trying Colene Clemens after hearing great reviews the past few months. I was stunned by the beauty of the architecture and surrounding scenery at the top of their driveway. The building has a modern yet rustic cabin feel to it. When you walk through the front doors, you are greeted with cozy armchairs and a warm fire on the back wall - though I doubt there's going to be much need for fire this summer. They are a new winery with young vines, but were able to produce some great wines with their inaugural '08 vintage. They were offering their two pinot noirs to try for $7. I think that is slightly on the steep side, but the wines were great, the ambience is fabulous, and the tasting room hosts are wonderful. The '08 Estate and '08 Estate Reserve pinots were both delightful. Both very elegant wines. I opted to bring home the reserve because it suited my fancy ever so slightly more. I can't wait to see how Colene Clemens evolves during the next few years. read more

Social distancing was great with masks and tables apart. Reservations are required as they are everywhere. I am floored by how terrible the customer service was here. I went in today to visit this winery and yes the location was definitely nice, however . I am a nursing mama who needs to be nourished to feed my daughter. They didn't allow me to bring in or at least make an acceptation this one time to eat food I had brought. We made a reservation and was not asked what we would like ( let alone would assume anyone would ever do that). They had prepared six tastings for our party for the whopping price of $120. What the heck! Three tastings per person and keep in mind this didn't even equate to one glass of wine per person. After speaking to what I only assume was the manager she advised and lied that we told them that's what we wanted. Huh?? Furthermore I guess this same lady didn't-think I could hear her speaking to other staff how we could just leave. We were not allowed to walk around the property either which is a shame. It's a shame again it's a beautiful place. Hope if you go here you have better luck. I will NOT be returning. Businesses are already struggling from COVID I guess they don't need business. Save your self some time and find another beautiful winery in the area. They are all around. I do not recommend this winery. read more

Don't miss this winery - by far the best on our two day wine tasting trip! Views great even on cloudy day and a beautiful tasting room with a roaring fire. But best was the woman who served us. We were six women who are old friends and our server became like another bestie, spending lots of time with us and pouring terrific wines. We bought more here than at any other winery, and the wines were packed for us for taking on Alaska Air.
