Traveled a good 35 mins to check this place out! And we'll worth the drive. The nerd in me was wayyyy too happy in this store lol. Sooo many comics, sooo many Funko pops, and soooo many statues and figures that I love to collect. The staff were very cool. Made sure to ask if we needed any help and made sure everyone in the store was greeted. When I was visiting north Tampa, I saw Coliseum of Comics and had to pull in to see what they had. I love local comic book stores and will always try to support them when I can. CoC have a good selection of new and used comics as well as figurines, cards, books, and more. There were also a few tables set up where a number of people were playing games (maybe D&D but I'm not sure). I perused the new and used issues and didn't find any of the specific issues I was looking for so I ended up purchasing two Comic Book Grab Packs for $7.99 each. Each package includes 10 comics and I wanted to get something. They also have a stamp card in which you get a stamp for every $10 spent and once you collect 10, you get $10 off your next purchase. read more

I used to enjoy this shop due to the wide variety of available items from comics to Funko Pops, trading card games and figurines. My issue is price. Any variant comic that is 1:5 and above is located on a kiosk near the case registers, and are so grossly overpriced that it's sickening. I asked why a 1:50 variant was listed at 79.99 on a new release and was told because Peach Momoko was the artist. WTF? total speculation on their part and I wasn't going to pay the additional $30 on a new release variant that sells on eBay and other local shops at $50. Want a comic a standard cover A new release? They are on the wall listed in alphabetical order and by publisher, easy enough, except they aren't bagged and boarded like all other shops. Here, they can (and do) get handled in their raw state by literally anyone browsing thru, flipping pages and then put back on the shelf in any manner. OK, ask for a bag and board? SURELY YOU JEST! They tell you they don't bag and board but if you wish to purchase supplies they can show you where you can buy a 100 boards and bags for the 1 or 2 comics you just bought. You can pay their overinflated speculation on a variant, but they don't want to speculate how important your comic is to you....THE BUYER. Back issues are extremely limited with a small supply, and keys hang on a wall near the registers which are grossly overpriced as well. NONE of they keys I checked were within market price and that's just them determined to get what they think it's worth, but don't pay any mind to a simple bag and board for their customers buying new issues. This is downright disgusting. With so many comic shops available in the Tampa Bay Area, avoid this money pit and purchase your comics elsewhere that offer discounts on back issue purchases, bags and boards for individual, comics, military, police and emergency service employee discounts and decent market average costs on limited variants. I stopped by COC today to partake in Free Comic Book Day 2018. When the store opened, we were greeted by some storm trooper and Cowboy cosplayers. The free comics were in a center table and the employees were helpful in answering people's questions. Despite the mild chaos, I was able to get in and out within 15 minutes. The store is clean and has all the newest issues along a wall with many shelves for Trades. The shelves correspond to the publisher - the DC shelf is in front of the DC single issues, then Indie, then Marvel towards the rear of the store. They have action figures,statues tumblers,collectible card merchandise, and random knickknacks for sale near the cashier. They have a rewards/stamp card where if you spend $10 (before tax) you get a stamp. 10 stamps gets you 10 dollars off anything in the store, which is nice. IMO,its one of the few "rewards" that is actually attainable without breaking the bank.I recently used my card from 2014 to buy a trade last month and they still honored it. The only real negative is that it may not be worth buying a lot of trades , since Amazon or other online comic specialties usually have big discounts on trades. But for getting individual issues and the occasional trade, its a great choice especially since the new tampa/USF area is sparse when it comes to comic stores. read more

Really nice sized, clean and organized space that will drive any nerd, casual, or enthusiast wild! Great selection of new and old comics, terrific statues and busts and friendly employees make this place a gem in the heart of New Tampa / Wesley Chapel. Whether it's knowledge about different comic lines coming out, game knowledge from war hammer to TCGs like Pokémon, Magic, and Lorcana they've always got their best foot forward and have a smile on their face. I'm not a fan of comics but my husband and daughter like to visit once in a while. The day we visited was free comic book day. The free ones are of course but any of the popular ones so my daughter was not excited at all with the offerings. We were immediately greeted when we walked in and told about the free comic book day. The staff was friendly and did make efforts to engage with customers. They were very polite despite a few of the customers at the register being sort of annoying in my opinion. Lol. read more

I'm sure if you're just after new books and games and whatever else it's great. As someone that collects back issues (silver age, wall books etc) it will take you 30 seconds to realize this place goes the Mile High Comics Route with its back issue pricing. You know, maybe a 1.5x markup is cool but 2-4x? I get it, you gotta see some money off these but it's a stiff reminder that eBay is rendering stores back issue sections obsolete. Still, clean store. Nice selection but not helpful staff at all. Just walked in and one guy was stocking books as we were browsing statues etc. No hello but all he said was "you guys need any help with statues?". I replied "no thanks but I have a quick question. Do you have any idea about Star Trek the next generation figures still in the package, like what they're worth". Didn't stop what he was doing to even get up and talk to us and and his reply was "I don't know". Not "I'm not really sure as we don't buy figures" or "I'm not really an expert on that I'm sorry". No other conversation. Just walked around a bit and left. The other guy at the counter did say goodbye. Store was well stocked and nice presentation. But they need to greet customers better as we were the only ones in there. read more

Had to grab some retro-items just to avoid the regret of not making the impulse purchase later (e.g. Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock dice and a Long Duck Dong Pop Figure circa 16 Candles). Also picked up my first comic in over 15 years. (Yes, my boy and wife got some things, too) My not be able to afford the mortgage with this shop so convenient, but will definitely be back for a visit. read more

Comic book store in Wesley Chapel?! SCORE! We were so excited to see a comic book store open up near our house. I was even more excited when we walked in and saw their selection of Munchkin game expansions, as well as the variety of other games they carry in store. Huge selection of comics, cards, games, figurines, etc. The employees are friendly and will help you find what you are looking for. They also offer a frequent shopper card where you get a stamp for each $5 spent that you can redeem for a coupon once filled. I hope this small business stays open. I try to be fair with my reviews, but I'm just not interested in doing much business with COC. Their books are extremely overinflated and are not open to much bargaining. The staff there are nice (at least to the few I've talked to) and the store is beautiful, but I highly recommend doing some price research on the books you're hunting for whether they're back issues or keys before purchasing anything here. I want the LCS's to thrive but not bankrupt customers either. read more

yeah what a horrible experience we got here. we were just in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. we got to the register and I simply asked the male associate working the price of a Pokemon battle styles booster box I saw behind the counter and immediately a blonde associate who happened to also be behind the counter rudely yelled out " WE DON'T". she responded so rudely that the person I WAS talking to was caught off guard with her response. Mind you I never asked the lady a question at all. And the male associate asked his co-worker again regarding the booster box and again she rudely replied "Well we're not selling it right now". The male associate then proceeded to tell me why they don't because of the shortage of stock, because of scalpers, because of resellers, etc. The funny thing is I NEVER asked to buy the booster box only to ask how much they are selling it for. I get a lot of people are trying to profit off buying Pokemon TCG right now but to imply even remotely and making me feel like I'm one of those people is beyond rude. This kind of ridiculous treatment of customers give small businesses a bad name. So in short, no I do not recommend this store, and yes I will be telling everyone I know who enjoy TCG, comics, or anything else this store sells to go elsewhere so they can get a better experience and to be treated a lot nicer. read more

This is my neighborhood comic store. They have a great selection of comics and toys. The employees are super helpful and knowledgeable. I stopped in on Friday and it was packed with people playing Magic. It pleases me to see people of all types geeking out on a friendly environment. I've been to a handful of comic stores in Tampa, and this one is my favorite so far. A+ all around. read more

Cool place to look at but that's it. I have been going there for almost 4 years(since I moved to the area) and would have spent a lot more if they brought their prices down on the statues. I have been looking at the same statues for those 4 years. Just dead money sitting on the shelves. I asked if they could budge on the price and was told they don't. So I bought elsewhere, saved almost $140 and almost 18 months later, that statue I was looking at still sits. Why as a business would you not want to move product that's stale and sitting to make room for newer items. Other than look pretty on the shelves. Oh well. Have my eye on yet another statue that's been there for a few years too, hoping an owner or manager actually see this and responds and get some of my money. I really want to buy from a local vendor, but just doesn't seem like they are willing to sell. Again thats the only issue and cause for my 2 stars. read more

Fantastic store with great variety in both games (why I go) and comics. Great and friendly staff who will help you any way they can. Also starting to run game tournaments, which is awesome. Finally, they have tables to play games on, which is great for finding out about games, etc. read more

I really enjoy going into this shop. If you are searching for new titles or recent back issues this is the place. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They have lots of key issues on the wall and all are in top quality condition..... If your the investor type. The subscription service is excellent. You can make changes over the phone and it's very easy to sign up. The only negative thing I can think of is they don't do very many sales. The up side is they offer a discount program for being a loyal customer. Over all my favorite new comic shop. read more
