They never have what I need with regard to parts for common Traxxas and Arrma products, one will be in stock, but the others will not, even if it's a common item. The website is better (but don't try to order it for pickup, because they won't have it when you arrive). Shipping is like $3.99 for small orders though, and Amazon is cheaper if you have Prime because there is no shipping. The benefit to a brick-and-mortar store despite a slightly higher price is being able to get the item today. MyTobbies has the single largest selection in the Tampa area. The manager/owner is almost never there (unless it's the morning and only during the week so good luck with your warranty or a return if you buy something), and employees have to get verbal permission just to give you your money back. There used to be a bunch of great people there (Kevin, Jeremy, Tim, John, Wyatt) but they are all gone. Bottom line, there are better places. Here are a few I enjoy. You can also find a great selection of camping and hunting gear, as well as some knives, canteens, cooking supplies, and other equipment to add to your hurricane supplies box. Finally there's also a collection of military and tactical gear including pants, shorts, jackets, holsters, and other specialized equipment. This is one of the few places in town to find PROPPER-brand tactical pants and shorts, along with some heavy duty t-shirts. A few plastic art organizers that I use for my makeup. Some Christmas ornaments. And one hanging wall art piece. That is about it. But I still enjoy going in. I am an artsy, craftsy type person. I called the store earlier in the day but no one answered. I decided I'll just go to the store and talk to the person face to face. Today was drop off day at the art museum for my son's artwork. It needed to be framed and have the proper wire back to hang. This is our first time participating in an art exhibit so I didn't know what that would take. Susy at the framing department helped put my anxiety at ease. She guided me through selected a custom made to make me art standout. She also helped me select a frame. She told me she had 15 orders in her que and normally could not do same day requests at this time. But, she made an exception and helped me! I'm so happy that Susy gave my order priority and told me to come back at 6pm. Also, my total came to over $100 but she applied discounts that brought the total down to under $50!! We come to Michaels when we are in need of craft supplies. My daughter needed a white colored…read morepencil for her art class so we were in the market for the Prismacolor brand since that's what she's been using and needed the same to complete her art project. This was the 2nd Michaels we went to, driving all the way across town to see if they had them. We found ONE! However the pencil was split all the way down the side and the tip was broken to where you'd have to sharpen to use at all. Since she needed the pencil for art, we opted to take it to the front and ask if we could get any sort of discount given the condition of the pencil or if they had any others in the store. There were no associates on the floor to assist, so our only option was to take to the register. We waited in line for quite some time since they only had 1 register open but a line of folks to check out. Another register finally opened and we were next -- when we got to the register, I showed the pencil to the associate and asked if we could get a discount. I mean it's a $3 pencil but being split all the way down the dang thing and the top all the way broken off, I mean something is better than nothing. She called on her mic and was told 10% off. I accepted it as that was the most that they could do. She apologized saying if it were her she'd just give me the dang thing given how it looked....but she has to do what management approves. I told her I understood and no worries. Store was quite empty as was the other Michaels we visited -- staff said it was due to the supply chain shortages.
