The Abington practice seems to have imploded after Covid and just never got their shit together. I've been blown off of three tele visits. No calls. Nothing. I was a day away from being completely out of meds. I must have called five times. They finally called them in with no follow up for me. Three months with no contact from my doc. When they do decide to answer the phone, which is rare, they seem like you caught them at a bad time or something. Last straw... no tele call for my scheduled appt for today. I had one appt with Sharon Katz a few years back. During my appt, I began crying while sharing about a horrific abuse that I endured as a child. I'm not exaggerating when I say Sharon Katz responded by snapping, "why don't we tone down the dramatics" and then trying to diagnose me with Borderline Personality Disorder after this one session, our first time EVER meeting. I remember going home feeling like I'd just been spit on. I was 18 at the time, and later ended up being diagnosed with a raging eating disorder, CPTSD, and ADHD ... none of which Sharon Katz had considered, as she was too concerned with belittling me and getting me out the door. Sharon Katz caused me to develop a fear of psychiatrists, and I still think about how she treated me to this day. If Sharon had actually provided compassionate, informed care, I could've received help a lot sooner. I'm sorry to see that other people had similar experiences, but it's validating to know that I wasn't the only one. read more

The unprofessional behavior of the staff at the Abington office lead me to choose to abruptly end my treatment, as to avoid frustration and degradation. Not the best decision, but having my existing mental health issues compounded by the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of the staff left me with little choice. read more

Tanner Katz is hands down one of the best providers I've been to. He allows me to email him when I'm out of a medication or have a quick question. He is very hands on. He really listens to my input and what I want to do with my care. He is truly fantastic. For the first time in a long time I really trust my doctor. read more

NO stars for the support staff at the Harleysville address. Screws up appts and blames others. No accountability for errors in scheduling. The one I just talked to was discourteous, short, impatient. Unbelievable they employ such people for customer service. She sounded miserable and it is misery to have to call and schedule appts and rescheduling is shameful! The therapist here saw me twice, a total of 2 hrs. My grandfather passed suddenly, when I called for help the therapist said the following: "be happy you didn't just lose one of your children or your spouse" The therapist knew nothing about my grandfather. He was not ill, his passing was sudden. He was my hero, and helped raise me. The therapist knew none of these things, yet she felt it necessary to point out that he wasn't close to me (her opinion) The comments were hurtful for my entire family, and sent me into a downward spiral. I stood in a receiving line at his funeral for 1.5 hrs greeting mourners. NOT ONE said "be thankful you didn't lose your kid" The one star rating is only because there isn't a "no star" choice. My daughter is out of her medication I received no call after I emailed. If you want warm, welcoming human beings who do their best to relate to you, intuit with you, and empathize with you, AS WELL AS treat you - this is a great place to go. One of the few places I've been (in my many-year battle with neurological stuff), that made me feel human, comfortable, cared about, allowed to think, allowed to be involved in my own care, and even encouraged to think intelligently and actively about what I was experiencing. I was under Sharon Katz "care" for over two years and she never remembered my diagnosis and assumed that because of the medication I was on that I had a completely different diagnosis rather than referring to her, and I quote, "impeccable" notes. She is unprofessional and released my information to my mother in a voicemail rather than speaking directly to me when I was the one who had asked her for a note. She tried to argue with me about my diagnoses and raised her voice at me over the phone. When I said I felt uncomfortable under her care since she can not tell me my proper diagnosis she said fine then don't come back and hung up on me. She then proceeded later to TEXT me and argue my diagnosis even after I was no longer under her care. Mind you I am a 19 year old college student. It's just bad practice and I do not recommend going to this facility. I personally believe that she should not be allowed to practice medicine. read more

This review is actually for their office in Harleysville - which ironically could not be found on yelp. First of all their front desk staff is awful, they all sound like you're an inconvenience and they'd rather be somewhere else. Not only is it disheartening that you can hardly find counselors that are accepting new patients but this place makes you do intake over the phone, sends you intake paperwork to complete, and then spends your first session entering that intake data into their system!! It costs me $100 to have someone tell me I have anxiety, which I told them over the phone and in their paperwork. The entire experience was a total waste and made me more upset that they basically robbed me $100. We never discussed anything about how I was feeling, how to cope, not even for 1 minute. Not to mention my session was supposed to be an hr but was cut short because I was the last patient and the therapists thinks the receptionist is out to get her and is going to lock her inside the building.Yup, not exaggerating. Thanks for the reverse psychology, I'm cured. read more

They are very unprofessional. Sharon Katz does not know her patients. She does not review her own notes prior to seeing patients ad is unclear about diagnosis and medications. She will tell you certain medications don't have side effects when everyone knows all medications have side effects. She is disrespectful and unprofessional. I would not recommend her to anyone for any reason other than desperation. read more

I haven't liked Sharon since my first appointment. She doesn't seem to truly listen and is always taking phone calls. After several appointments with her she never remembered anything about me or my visits, or even my correct name. My FIRST name. (Isn't that what all your notes are for?) Every time I came in she pushed a new medicine on me, despite me liking what I'm already on. Tonight I went to the Harleysville location for the first time and it turned out one of the receptionists gave me the wrong address. I called Sharon, who gave the right one. She told me to check the gps and call back, but since I was literally 2 minutes down the road I just continued on. I only arrived 5 minutes late but was left waiting for TEN minutes until Sharon wandered out. (calling me by the wrong name of course) I was visibly irritated but Sharon completely blew it off. "That's life, these things happen." Meanwhile, yet another intern (because there's ALWAYS a stranger in your appointment) was the one apologizing. I flat out asked why she was apologizing and Sharon wasn't but she kept blowing it off. Wouldn't you try to calm down a visibly shaken patient instead of dismissing them? Since I had planned on dumping Sharon after this anyway I told them I was leaving. Sharon was sarcastic in letting me leave - "take care, bye bye" so I called her a rude fucking bitch and left. Granted I should have called and said it's only be 2 minutes, but it's "just life" that your receptionist never told you I arrived?? The sad thing is Sharon is the director of Collaborative Care. I hope she's not this incompetent with everyone. read more
