With twins (?!) and each year you're trying to find something new and unique for them to experience for their birthday(s). This year I surprised them with... rootin' tootin' (trap/skeet) shootin'. (About a mile before reaching our destination I slipped up and ruined the surprise - which they won't let me live down now!) After driving through scenic and beautiful parts of Jersey (autumn, the colors all around were absolutely stunning) we arrived. It's a mountain. And when you hear those guns going off - it's jarring (for city folk, like ourselves). Yeah - "Thunder Mountain" - is more than a fitting name for this biz. Seven of us (only six are shooting), three generations, and with our most incredible guide/instructor - we were blasting away in no time. We had a clay-zy good time. (Hey, that's the best "dad pun" I could whip up, gimme a break!) Youngest twin was the marksman of the day - 19 of 25. My father-in-law was the least successful - 2 of 25. (The Mrs. and the older twin all did much better than me as well... which definitely dinged my ego, for sure.) It's cash-only. The couple behind the counter at the 'lodge' were very friendly, engaging and no-nonsense. Our guide/instructor really helped to make our afternoon even better/smoother. He was constantly giving us pointers and encouragement and he deserves a raise for putting up with my father-in-law's insistence on refusing to ever yell "pull" (I'm still not sure if it was an honest mistake or him just looking to bust chops) but pretty much any other word that started with a "P". You're given a gun, earplugs and ammo (25 shots in total), rotating after 5 shots/attempts. This was a perfect amount to keep it fresh and interesting and fun. Teens are never impressed, especially if it involves their parents. But the entire ride to Kinchley's (you'll work up an appetite, lemme tell ya) and then home... they could NOT stop talking about how much fun they'd just had and can't wait to come back. (That definitely helped that fragile ego of mine!) PS: the following day I was sore and a bit bruised on my shoulder where the butt of the shotgun rested.

I used their service with u-haul's u-box, where you pack a box, let it remain in storage at Wadeson's and then ship it when you're ready. After about a month and a half of storage, I had them ship the box to CA. I soon received a padlock key in an envelope in the mail from Wadeson's with no explanation (keep in mind that you lock the box with your own padlock, for which I alone had the key). When the box eventually arrived, it was a completely different box, half-full. Hence, the new padlock key. I packed my box to the brim and I was able to walk into this box. Everything of value was missing. My professional musical gear, my snowboard gear, electronics, amplifier, an amazing record collection, clothing. I'm still realizing what was missing. My whole life was in that box. Only after I contacted them did they tell me that my box had fallen off a forklift and broke. They said they packed everything neatly into the new box, but this was clearly not true. They were extremely sketchy and apparently had no security footage, never made an inventory, and most importantly, never contacted me. U-haul insurance gave my a paltry $2k to cover all of this gear after a lengthly experience finding old receipts and creating an inventory. It was all worth sooo much more. I will never go to Wadeson's again.

Take guests there all the time & eat our lunch In the club house. They all wish they lived closer.

This is my first time in a out door range , i was a member for years at Gun4hire. All in all this was anew exoerience for me, i stumbled a little bit with the rules because i just was not use to it, the RSO's stayed with me and checked on me constantly untill igot the hang of the routine. Every one is entitled to an opinion good bad or indiferent, me personaly i am extremely happy i signed up. I am 5 min from the range oposed to 45 min to the other range, it's a great place for experienced shooter's or beginer's. I found a home there i hope to be there for a long time. cheer's to the staff and RSO's. job well done
