I went for a private social event. The parking in this neighborhood is practically non-existent. But, I got lucky tonight. The location is great - right on the water. (if you're attending a summer event and can be outside, or it's before sunset.) The bar seems to have lots of options, but no prices listed. So, it's a roll of the dice. "Market price" for a wine pour, I guess. Plus, they add an automatic gratuity. (Be sure to read the fine print) THEN, the card swipe machine asks you for an additional tip! This place hasn't been remodeled or updated in what seems like 50+ years. I hope to never return. read more

Sharing a perspective as a member.... My husband and I joined the College Club this summer and have nothing but great things to say about our experience. I was initially attracted to the idea of the social club. The lounge, which has a traditional college pub feel, includes a pool table, shuffleboard, a large flat screen, and lots of seating - a great space for hanging out. The venue which consists on two floating vessels has a large dock off the back. We were blown away by how much fun the dock has been. On nice summer days, we would come down for a couple of hours and lounge/lay out on the dock or hop in the water and swim for a bit. There are number of singles, couples, and families so it brings a nice balance of people. (We don't have kids but I've always thought this is the perfect club for those who do - without being too annoying for those of us who don't.) Also throughout the summer, they do Wednesday happy hours and a fun outdoor Thursday night concert series on the dock. I've talked to a number of serious rowers who enjoy the club for the boat access. My husband and I aren't rowers but to our surprise, we've had a lot of fun taking out kayaks (and paddle boards) - both with free access as a part of the membership. The gym isn't fancy but it's clean and has some good equipment (stationary bikes, rowing machines, weights). There are never more than a few people in the gym at once. I've liked it so much that I canceled another gym membership and only come here now. I wasn't sure if this would be a better "summertime" club but we've enjoyed into the colder months. In addition to my ongoing use of the gym, they offer fun social events like college football viewing parties and wine tasting events. Lastly, I have nothing but great things to say about the staff. They genuinely care about their members and have helped create a warm and welcoming environment. They really help set the tone for the overall feel of the club, especially for the social events. I'm glad we made the choice to join. It's been a great addition for us. read more

That ramp up to the event space is SOOOOOO dangerous, especially if you're in heels. The space is alright, could use a bit of polishing but not yet in need of a facelift. Limited parking. read more

To a person, the guests at our wedding raved about the beauty of the venue!! My wife Sarah and I DID, however, notice two GLARING negatives our wedding ceremony held at College Club Seattle: 1) The "elevator" turned out to be some kind of food service device suited more for produce boxes than frail, elderly guests. It reminded me of an oversize dumbwaiter from the 50's movies. When we arrived, it took at LEAST 30 minutes to get it operative to send one of my groomsmen upstairs with his walker... the caterer had Dimiter on the phone with him attempting to get it operative...which leads to the 2nd and most troubling issue... 2) Dimiter, the "Manager", didn't even bother to take the time to be there and welcome us to his venue!! He was a no-show once we signed the contract and paid for the venue! Also, he outright LIED to us in telling us that the venue would be closed to members that Sunday and we'd have full rein of the venue. We arrived to find at least 20 members sunning themselves, canoeing on/off the dock...eliminating it as a possible ceremony option!! UNACCEPTABLE!! Maybe Dimiter should focus more on the responsibilities of his "JOB" than his budding music career that he flooded on Facebook his "gig" the prior night!!! read more

3.5 stars. A few colleagues of mine have memberships to the College Club and I've had lunch here a few times. It definitely has an old school "club" feel, which is kinda neat. It's usually deserted and I have to wonder how they remain in business. At least you can have a peaceful lunch, instead of fighting the downtown lunch crowd. The staff is on a first name basis with each member, it seems. Their prices hover around the $9 mark. The menu consists primarily of traditional sandwiches, salads, and such (yawn), but they have a daily special/buffet, which is usually something good and unique. Their Mongolian Grill (on special) was actually pretty good. Their halibut fish & chips are nasty. I think they came out of a frozen box. The breading was too heavy, the fish was tough, and I left feeling slightly nauseated. Their fries were really crunchy. If I liked fries, I would've like them I'm sure. I should've gotten their turkey dinner buffet special instead. With all the fixins. Damn. I hope they have it next time I go. read more

We had a difficult experience working with the CC management at first which was amended by the time of the wedding. The venue is beautiful as far as the pier but it comes with a bait and switch, as long as you are willing to work around the club members. Yes they are cheap but you will be nickel-ed and Dimed for every little thing.The venue setup for a DIY wedding which is fine, however management is not flexible with basic weddings tasks and can be rather misleading at times. They told us the venue was available to setup and drop off gear and then they booked over that availability and did not tell us until it was too late to change our accommodations. read more

We tried to organize our wedding here, but ran into numerous road blocks. The staff is extremely hard to get in touch with and they provide pricing information that changes every time. We even had the experience of having a staff member tell us that we would be able to cater the event ourselves, only to have her do an about-face a week later and tell us it was prohibited, then completely ignore us for a week while we tried to follow up with questions. The venue itself is lovely, with a great dock, a beautiful view, and reasonably priced, but we needed to have accurate information to start our planning, so we went with a different venue. read more

We love the College Club! We just had our October 3rd wedding reception here, and it was magnificent! Alexandria and her staff were amazing and when I ran into kinks with her caterer, they were our back up. She seems to truly care that our day was special. The best benefit of having our wedding here is that we became members. We can take boats out in the summer and go to fantastic concerts on Thursdays. The Club room is an excellent gathering spot to watch sports and gather friends. Everyone is so friendly, the drinks are affordable and we have lakefront access that we never thought we would. read more

We had a wedding here over the summer and it was an excellent venue. It's been newly renovated and looks great. The ceremony was on the dock outside, which was a beautiful backdrop with the cityscape and the sun poking through the clouds. At night you can see the lights in the city on the balcony. For a wedding venue in Seattle we thought it was awesome! (Guests really enjoyed it too.) read more

The room was ok, but don't pay for the extras. The picture on here of the fireplace is very staged, our fire barely ever got started. Also beware, that they will charge your form of payment immediately after your event with out talking to you, or having a chance to go over the bill. read more

Alexandria (event manager) was a gem and helped immensely leading up to the day of the event! The venue itself is amazing and beautifully located! Great venue if you are choosing to be your own DIY wedding planner. Loved the flexibility of the rental contract...able to bring in our own alcohol and rent a yummy food truck. The only hiccup is that we were only informed an hour before the start of the wedding that any open alcohol bottles at the end of the night would need to be left behind. If we had known beforehand maybe we wouldn't have purchased so many different half gallons of hard liquor. Our bad for not knowing this ourselves! We just wish we had been informed of this when the venue's alcolol policies were being explained to us when we signed the rental contract a year before. Where does the leftover alcolol go? It couldn't have been picked up the next day? We had designated drivers that night. We know it wasn't being dumped down the drain by the venue staff at the end of the night. Tip: Hire someone externally to monitor everything on the actual day of your wedding, ensure that everything is going smoothly. read more

We held our wedding at the College Club of Seattle in August and it was a perfect venue for our group. The ceremony was held outside on the dock out front and made for great photos. Alexandra and Katy were also most helpful coordinating prior to the event. We found the club very affordable and they had availability for weekend evenings in Seattle in the summer. Recent upgrades including a bridal suite were a great addition. read more
