I would love to be able to give College Hunks a good review because I did really like some of the people I dealt with, and the move captain Michael was very efficient. Unfortunately, however, I cannot give them a good review - for several reasons. First of all, they misquoted me by over $1000, so I had to unexpectedly adjust my budget. Second of all, they confirmed that they would be able to complete my move in one day, which was not the case. As a client, I need to be able to rely on their quote in terms of time and money, so that I can plan accordingly. This left me scrambling to find a place to stay the night at the very last minute because I could not stay the night in my new place, as originally planned. They then assigned some additional movers to the job as they had misquoted it and realized that they would need extra people in order to finish on time. Unfortunately, one of those movers damaged a table leg and also just dumped my boxes all in the same room, so that I had to scramble to explain to the team that I do need the boxes to be placed in the labeled rooms, as I do not have the capacity as a single woman to lug them into those rooms myself. I was informed that it was this mover's first day on the job, but nevertheless he should have been instructed to place the boxes in the appropriate rooms. I paid an upcharge to purchase insurance in case of damages, and filed a claim in a timely manner. Staff member Brittni Nantz repeatedly reassured me that the claim had been processed and I would receive compensation soon. This unfortunately went on for months to the point where I called the College Hunks headquarters who then informed me that in actual fact a claim had never been filed in the first place. They then filed a claim for me, but informed me that I would still have to wait to hear back from this branch of College Hunks, which unfortunately I never did. I don't know what went wrong here, but to this day I have not received compensation for the damaged items, which left a really nasty taste in my mouth because nobody likes being lied to. I don't feel that as a client I deserved this treatment because I tipped the movers, was patient and reasonable when things didn't go as planned and even treated everybody to lunch. College Hunks (and branch owner Omar Nieves) - if you read this: I would still love to resolve this matter because it saddens me greatly that I have to leave a negative review of your company. This is not something I do lightly, but I am highly disappointed that I was repeatedly assured that you had filed a claim for damages and then ultimately I never received a payout and you essentially ignored my emails and my attempts to contact you about this. That is neither professional nor fair, and I deserve better. I invite you to act with integrity and contact me to resolve this matter, and I will be more than happy to change my review if you do because I am hoping that this is not representative of your business and, if it is, that is rather sad that you do not attach importance to treating your clients with more integrity. For clarity: my move was from Savannah to Atlanta, and I originally did business with Omar Nieves and his team when Omar owned the Savannah branch before it was sold to a different owner. I was then informed that Omar and his team had switched to the Jasper branch. This is why I am posting my review on the Jasper page, in hopes that you, Omar, and your team will read this and that we can finally resolve this case to our mutual satisfaction. If I could give this Company a MINUS Star, I surely would! BE WARNED! Any damages on your belongings moved by this company will NOT be paid for even if insured! In October of 2024 we moved a 3/2 house from one part of Atlanta to the other. In the process a King-size mattress came out of the bag and was damaged. We paid for insurance on this move...we provided photos, etc. etc. for the mattress. We were told numerous times that "a check will be processed" & "we will get back to you". TO NO AVAIL - I cannot tell you how many times my husband & I have called them; It's many months down the road now & this company has still decided to NOT do the right thing. Now after almost 3 months in trying to deal with mishaps on our final move after storage, would not even give them 1 star but they did get most of our belongings to our Ohio home. 13 major furniture pieces were damaged. New hardwood floors in our home scratched. They were supposed to store our items in a secure area in their warehouse so all that was needed was to reload what was there. Upon delivery we pointed out some things were not even ours. First clue something not right. A china cabinet glass door was damaged, and we were verbally assured (including photos they took of the damage) that they were going to have someone locally contact us to replace the broken door. That night we noticed my great grandmother's 7' tall mirrored oak hall tree (circa 1897) was missing along with a beverage refrigerator and hand dolly. Team captain did say he remembered packing the item from our Ellijay home. We asked them to locate and deliver it. After ignoring calls and emails and having local sheriff go to their office to have someone call me almost a month later response was "we don't know where it is and haven't seen it, sorry". Dozens of emails and phone messages ignored. Their policy is to not respond and hope you will go away. We have a box of items still with us that belong to another customer and they have failed to respond or acknowledge about what to do with someone's else's possessions. They did not live up to their marketing and brand promise. "You can trust our teams to provide the utmost care handling your possessions and personal belongings"... NO. "We'll treat your items like our own to ensure that your items arrive at your new home in exactly the same condition they were removed. We are fully licensed and insured for your protection and peace of mind"... NO. "Nobody handles moving better than we do, we promise to provide 100% satisfaction with every project"...NO. "We're the long-distance residential moving company to keep your treasured items safe"... NO. Would have thought the owner and corporate level folks would have taken more pride and ownership in the business and their customers' satisfaction. Stay away from this business. Items seem to walk away from their warehouse. Will be looking at GA Consumer Protection Agency and Federal Interstate Trucking Division to file reports to hopefully keep this from happening to someone else. read more

Called, quoted and delivered. We needed a 30' and 26' truck and filled them to the brim. The crew had a great attitude and worked like a machine all day at both locations after a 2.5 hr drive between locations. We had ZERO damaged items. I read all of the reviews and didnt have an experience close to these with the same company. Moving sucks and is a hassle - stuff happens - all you can ask is a fair price, deliver what you said you would and work hard!! These guys outperformed. THANKS Omar & team! read more

Like so many others, our experience with this moving service was terrible. In fact, it was disturbing. The movers were late by several hours, added an extra person to compensate for being late but then wanted to charge us for the extra person, had a truck that was too small for the move despite the fact that we were very clear about what we were moving, overcharged us in the end and when we questioned the bill, Omar over the phone threatened to call the police for what he said was theft of services. DON'T DO IT!!!! THIS COMPANY IS NOT BBB ACCREDITED AND BBB COMPLAINTS FOR FRANCHISE LOCATIONS MENTION SIMILAR BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS! A SCREENSHOT OF FRANCHISE COMPLAINT SIMILAR TO WHAT WE EXPERIENCED IS ATTACHED TO THIS REVIEW TO SHOW WE HAVEN'T BEEN THE ONLY ONES FOOLED BY THEIR DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES! We called to have a pile of items hauled away from our home that included a toilet, 3 ceiling fans, a nightstand, 1 mattress, 2 bed frames, 2 kids' bikes, a chest of drawers, & some cardboard moving boxes with styrofoam debris in them. My husband spoke to Madelyn from the Jasper office who specifically asked for the list of items, noted the list on the service invoice, and quoted us $239 to have everything hauled away. She scheduled the job and sent a confirmation by email. The two man crew arrived as scheduled, but upon loading the truck with some of the items from the above list, they said all of our items would exceed the limit for a typical $239 quote. To haul away ALL of the above listed items, we were now being told the cost of the job would increase to $519. I immediately called the office who confirmed that the quote given was indeed $239 and confirmed that those items had been approved as the basis of the quote. However, it was only during this phone call that it was mentioned that the original quoted amount was to only fill a QUARTER of the truck's capacity. I was informed that half of the truck's capacity would be $419, and three quarters of the truck's capacity would be $519. Apparently, our items had filled their truck three quarters of the way and that was what the haulers were now basing the price change on. This was NEVER explained or mentioned by Madelyn during the scheduling process four days prior, and we certainly weren't told that they charged by truck capacity or that our quoted amount would increase if we went over a specific capacity. The situation was escalated to the manager, Omar, who contacted our haulers who were waiting for the green light to continue loading the remaining items on their truck. Omar advised them to remove any of our items that exceeded a quarter of the truck's capacity to get us to the original $239 quote. Seriously?! According to the haulers, due to the size of our items, this would result in approximately half of our list being left behind! Instead, and seeing that Omar had no intention of making things right, we requested that ALL of our items be removed from the truck so we can contact an honest company who doesn't use BAIT AND SWITCH tactics to make a profit. If this isn't their typical business practice, and it was just an honest misunderstanding, the least they could have done was honored what we had been quoted for the EXACT items that had been approved to be hauled away. That they wouldn't even do that shows how unethical and sketchy they are! It's unfortunate because the two haulers were cordial, very apologetic, and seemed genuinely interested in completing the job on a positive note. Unfortunately, it did not. My experience is a warning to prospective customers who think the quote given by this company seems fair and legitimate. BE PREPARED FOR BAIT AND SWITCH once they have your items loaded on the truck!!!! You will be expected to pay more than twice what you were quoted!! My wife called this company just to get a quote on loading the moving truck for us. They quoted $180 per hour for two men - $90 per hour!!! My wife told them she wasn't interested at that price, but they kept calling back, trying to push her into hiring them. After telling them over and over and over that she wasn't interested, a woman with the company called from Jasper - AFTER being told not to call back! My wife, again, explained that the price was too high, only for the woman to argue with my wife that the price was not too high. No wonder this company has such bad reviews and lost it's BBB accreditation; they fail at the most elementary level of running a business. read more

Broke my tv, 3 lamps, scaped my leather sofas, scraped 3 leather dining room chair cushions, scratch paint off my metal bed frame, scratch 2 wooden table tops, stole my extension ladder and a wreath! I cannot stress enough that you should NOT use College Hunks. I had over 40 items damaged due to their packing job! College Hunks loaded at my home location and I hired CH to unload at my final destination. The College Hunks who unloaded the truck were taking pictures and complained to the corporate office about the horrible packing/loading job done by the loading team in Jasper, Ga. They will not stand behind their job. They even broke a light while on my property and promised to reimburse us for it. Never heard another thing! They have an F by the BBB and were de-listed. I hired them for a move in July they picked up all fur and boxes and loaded them on a truck . My closing got pushed back and they put my belongings in a storage place for 2 weeks in jasper that they recommend I paid the fee . After I closed my Furniture was delivered along with a few extras that were not mine . As I was unpacking I noticed that I was missing some very important boxes . I immediately contacted them and was told they would check into it . They said they would but never call back I always had to call . I sent and email to Sean J and yet still no answer. I have called many many times to speak with Omar and never returned my calls ever it is now December and still nothing the items that are missing are my mothers who passed away 2 years ago . I even put claim in that this company is aware of still no answer After paying over 4000 I moving fees plus tips . I feel I deserve a refund on my lost items due to they were in their possession the entire time of the move. Omar is a joke and So it this moving company save your money and do your research!! read more

Called to have our apartment cleaned out on a junk job and the office was upfront about how junk removal is priced by volume of the truck load. I listed my items, but had the flexibility to add or remove as needed and the price was very fair for my job. They were even able to accommodate a same day junk removal. I really appreciate how hard everyone worked and they clearly care about the customer! I'm surprised at the previous bad review - everything was incredible from communication to service. If we could rate no stars I would. Move was anything but "Stress free" we have thousands of dollars of damaged furniture and appliances. The mattresses were not wrapped per the contract. Drug through the mud. 1 of the mattresses using the positioning handles ripping them off and putting holes in a 4k mattress with mud all over it. When we brought this to the franchisees attention he said "the mattress must be defective" we showed a screenshot of a chat with the manufacturer letting him know that this mattress along with all mattresses are not made to be carried by those handles. Which he would not respond to and will not replace our mattress. His crew lost all the hardware of my sons bed which we cannot replace. He has been sleeping on the floor for over 2 months. Omar the owner will not replace his bed. He now says he has to take deprecation off all the furniture destroyed which the contract per our lawyer states otherwise. They did not properly cover the mattresses and leave them covered which is stated clearly in the contract. We purchased extra coverage for up up to 20k and he will not cover our items less than that. Total nightmare. Don't use them! Omar is now threatening us with the police since we won't back down! read more
