So, I'm giving 2 stars because I will take a little bit of fault. My mother in law passed away and we were wanting to move some of her items from her home in Blue Ridge down to Savannah 6 hrs away. We had them come out and do a walkthrough and I showed them the items that were going to be moved including a lawn ornament/item and an off road vehicle. The next day they show up and are professional and get right to work. They had been hesitant about the off road vehicle and whether or not it would fit. Towards the end of the move I took the off road vehicle down to them so they could get it ready. It had items in it that I also wanted to take with us, which I let them know. They unloaded those items to make sure they felt comfortable getting the vehicle in. So, where is my fault and what was wrong? I did not do a thorough follow up and walk through after they said they were finished. They did not load the lawn ornament, and they never loaded the tools/other items into the truck before they left. I did not notice until some time later. I contacted the company and they wanted to charge me the full price of another move to get the items. I told them that was unacceptable. I told them I was willing to pay some costs, as they had to pay for gas, etc., but I was not willing to pay for a full on move for items they left that they knew they were supposed to get. I managed to get the items that were in the back of the off road vehicle into my car for the drive down, but I could not get the lawn ornament. I've been back and forth with them for over a month now trying to get them to get the lawn ornament, and I am willing to pay some money towards that--I don't feel I'm being unreasonable, and they just will not take responsibility and effort to get the item. I've been patient, waiting the time they've asked to find a solution, and I have not gotten angry/ugly with anyone. They've stopped responding to me. So, I'm done I guess. Highly unprofessional movers. Not only did they do more than $1500 of damage to my houses they would not respond to the damage claim. The workers went shirtless through my house playing loud music. My neighbors end up complaining to me about the music. I asked them to put their shirts on as I had a young girl in the house. So unprofessional! These guys are a joke. Worst movers out there by far. I hired four guys from my move from 3rd-floor apartment to my new house with Skinny Wimp Moving. Let me just tell you off the bat, I had about 60 boxes, large and small, with maybe a handful of medium to small sized boxes. Washer/Dryer, 4-5 TVs, and 2 bedrooms worth of furniture, as well as living room. They handled it all with a smile and with class. They are super efficient, super pleasant, and super awesome! I asked for help moving 2 rooms of furniture from my first floor to a basement in the same house. They generated an automated response saying from my description, I would need 3 guys and a truck. Seriously, these guys were awesome!! We hired three guys for their 2 hour minimum to unload two, huge 16'x8' ft Pods of household belongings into our new 3 level home. I'm talking a lot of heavy stuff (piano, 3-piece sectionals, huge kitchen appliances, solid wood furniture, etc.). I am not exaggerating when I say they hustled! They were literally running (when not carrying something heavy or fragile of course) to and from the Pods and they never slowed down! They literally had everything unloaded in the home within 1.5 hours. They would have been completely done at that time had it not been for our pesky refrigerator door handles that had to be removed because the unit wouldn't clear the width of the doorway. Even with that, they still finished the job in just under 2 hours. All in all, we were very happy with their efficiency, attentiveness, and overall professionalism. Highly recommended!! read more

WARNING!!! NO SHOW ON MOVING DAY!!! I booked, they confirmed via email and phone. Deposit made. 8:00 AM start and no one arrived. I finally got ahold of someone at 9:30 AM and learned the truck had broken down. No backup plan. Would not even send the movers. Didn't even try to resolve. Just a very friendly "sorry". So I scramble and got a UHaul to move a 4 bedroom home that I'm still trying to move my family. My body is aching, I've never been so angry and upset with a company. They came so highly recommend. I initially felt bad because i was the 3rd stop for their day... but then when I realized it was going to be affecting by bottom line I was a little upset. They were aggressive at the end when they did not admit fault for not packing properly causing us to take multiple trips that should have only taken 1. I didn't review this company when we moved because most of our things went into a storage room. Now that we are pulling things out we've found weird things missing--like legs on almost every piece of furniture isn't complete. They literally took two of six legs off my couch. When the piano arrived from my mother's apartment it was wrapped so that no damage would be done. Corey and Kendrick were awesome. I paid about $300 for 2 hours one truck and 2 guys, and it was SO easy. We had everything in the truck to the new place and out of the truck in just one hour. I was expecting a Uhaul size truck, but this truck was HUGE. I could have fit 10x more stuff if I wanted. The guys were super friendly and worked fast. I'm always impressed by how strong movers are, but it's still worth mentioning. Nothing was damaged, and I almost wished it took longer. The guys who moved us were young, energetic and good workers. We fed them lunch and they worked the entire day!

My window for the movers to show up was 2pm-7pm and they arrived at my house at 7:38pm. They were almost forty minutes late and did not even try to call me and give me an ETA. They were tired and ready to go home by the time they got to my house and because of that they were being careless. Maybe they are just careless as a baseline. They were banging stuff into door frames, walls, cabinets and appliances. I asked if they needed me to open the gate so the patio items could be taken through the yard and I was told no that it's fine and it's good as one guy continued to bang a patio table into my kitchen door frame and my stainless steel refrigerator. One guy put his large Subway drink on one of my tables and it left a watermark on it. I understand that they were tired and ready to go home, but a business should not be conducted in this manner. If you know that you are so understaffed that you cannot handle moving two clients with the same crew in one day, you should not schedule the moves as such. The guys did not fit all of the stuff in one truck load so they said they were going to go drop off a load of items and come back to get the rest. We followed them to the new home and showed them where to put the items. They left some furniture wrapped that needed to be unwrapped. They also left some boxes in the garage that needed to go upstairs and the boxes had labels with the correct rooms on them and all rooms were also labeled. At this point the guys were just over it. I unpacked the laundry room items and hooked everything in as they continued to unload the truck. I went upstairs to make sure the furniture was in the correct locations and the driver came up to me with paperwork and said that his men were tired and needed to leave. It was about 1:38am at this point and I was tired too but I just wanted the job completed! I said that the job was not finished and he said well they are tired and we need to leave. I told him that we had to have the items out of the house by noon the next day and he said he would make sure a crew came or he would personally do it for me. At this point what choice did I have. They left and I made my bed and went to sleep. The crew only worked for me for 6.25 hours and in the contract it said that the move was to be a minimum of 2 hours and not to exceed 14 hours. I woke up the next morning and called with no answer right when the place opened. I called every ten minutes until the receptionist answered. I asked her when my crew would arrive and that my move was not completed the night/morning before. She said she had just arrived and that she would find out. She called me back and said nobody would be able to come because they were already out on other jobs for the day. I told her that she needed to figure it out because our job was not completed and that we had to be out of our old house by noon. I asked for her manager's information and she would not give it to me. She said she would find something out. She called me back and said that they could not send anyone. I was irate at this juncture and asked for the manager's number and I told her this is no way to conduct a business as I listed out all of the unprofessional things that this company had done. She said she would try to find out something refusing the contact information for the manger to me and said she would call me back. She called back 5-10 minutes later and said a guy could come. I agreed and asked if I could get a discount or get the rest of the stuff moved for free due to the inconvenience. She said she would ask and said it would be at an hourly rate. Three men showed up two of which had been in the crew from the previous night. It only took them 1 hour to move the rest of the belongings which should have and could have been moved already. I strongly recommend you to use another moving company. You want a company that cares about your items and treats your stuff with care. I would not even recommend this company to my worst enemy; nobody deserves to be treated this way. They need to look at their business model and retool it!! read more

These guys were GREAT! They had a sense of urgency the moment they arrived at our rental home we were leaving. They carefully wrapped our furniture and did not waste any time while onsite. Once we got to our new home (our first house purchased as a couple), they moved us in with the same care and attention to detail they used when moving us out. And our move was not an easy one given a very steep driveway at our rental. The price was fair. Hopefully, we will never see them again, as we purchased this home with the intention of making it permanent. But if we DO need a mover in the future, we're definitely calling Skinny Wimp!
