The staff took care of everyone in line during checkout even tho it was passed the closing time. There was a return we had to from a bday gift for a family member which we lost the actual receipt for and didn't scan our snkrs / nike + app on purchase. Without even looking for it while going through the Patriots gear my husband spotted a great ladies tank for me. This had been a constant online search for years and we gave up. It is hard going to a Pats game in Miami and enjoy watching them beat the Dolphins in a long sleeve shirt. The tank was $28.00 but the good news no tax on clothing in Massachusetts according to the guy that rang me up at the register. I look forward to wearing it while watching the games. I went into Champs out of convenience, since I go through DTX on my commute. A salesgirl asked me if I needed help, and I told her I was looking for wide sneakers. Of course, they didn't have any, but there were a couple styles that looked like they had a wide toebox, so I asked to try them on. The salesgirl brought out a pair and without asking, replaced the sockliner with a special insole. Had she asked, I would have told her that I have very high arches and can't use insoles in most shoes. But she didn't. And when I put the shoe on I was really confused until I figured out her switch. Since I didn't want the insoles, she started telling me about the most amazing socks in the world, that she loves (and wasn't wearing). Oh, and the shoe protector. You have to have the shoe protector to keep those sneakers clean. I decided to buy the sneakers and a couple pairs of socks, but the salesgirl looked horrified that I wasn't getting the protector. "You know, the netting will get all dirty and you can't get it clean, right?" she said. When I replied that they were for my commute and I didn't care her face was a mix of confused and grossed out. I had to return the shoes and was barely acknowledged. The music was WAY too loud and the store was really hot both times. Not to mention the overstocked salesfloor with no room to move around and the filthy floor itself. I really like the socks I got, but I'm not sure that I want to brave the store to get them again.

You can order online as well to pick up at or ship to the store if a specific item is not available. I tend to utilize this if there is something specific (brand/color, etc) that I know I want and then it's super efficient to pick up. The staff is super nice and always happy to guide to the section you are looking for. They are also helpful if you are returning an item or exchanging and I love their commitment to sustainability in the community as well. I always see people down in the bike/repair area so that seems to be a super convenient option to have for a the cyclists in Boston. All was not lost as Sylvia was helping us and offered several different options for my mom to try. She was super helpful, even helping my mom get the shoes on and lacing them up. I can't remember the last time I've seen that level of assistance in a shoe store. She was absolutely fantastic with my mom, answering questions and even showing her a special way of lacing her sneakers to help prevent heel slippage. My mom ended up getting two pairs of shoes that she said were so comfortable, and raved about Sylvia to the woman at the register. I took a star off as I'm a size 11ish and can rarely find shoes that fit me-most shoes only had sizes up to 10 available, but I'm so glad my mom had such a great experience today.
