Bathrooms are clean enough and decently well stocked. Parents can grab a seat on one of many benches and there is good visibility as the kids run from area to area. There are baby and regular swings, and one big flat disk that you can lay down on. There are also spider web ropes for climbing. The softball fields are great for running the bases in between games, or flying a kite in the outfield. We tend to come in the evenings when it's cold so we haven't had a chance to use the splash pad but the structures in the area are still available for climbing. My kid was able to enjoy the splash pad all to herself. There's an outdoor shower right by it as well to rinse off. The splash pad was interactive and fun. There are various swing sets here of different styles fit for different ages. There was ample parking. Many of the areas are shaded. The bad: We came upon opening hours and the gate wasn't open yet. People opened it around 7 minutes late. My husband and I were about to leave but luckily stood around trying to make phone calls for long enough that someone eventually came and opened the gate. The play area is turf and surrounded by picnic tables and Adirondack chairs, with plenty of shade. The design is thoughtful and makes for a great place to spend an afternoon. The parking is free and right next to the play area. It feels secluded and somehow also right in the middle of everything. The only thing missing is a bathroom and while I understand that it's prevent homeless people from moving in, it does limit the amount of time that anyone can hang out here (especially with littles). During an afternoon, I visited Laguna Lake again to take pictures of the aquatic birds. The weather…read morewas pleasant and sunny. I saw mallards, geese, and a great egret. There are trails to access different parts of the lake. Many people circle around the lake or fish recreationally. Signs around the lake continue to prohibit feeding the wildlife. I'm happy with the pictures I took, but I can still improve. The experience was decompressing with sounds of flowing creek water and birds chirping all around the air.

Parking is easy with a large lot right next to the lake, opposite of the lake are some hiking trails if you have more time. It's a nice loop going around with some different areas along the way such as a small creek, reeds near the shore, and some water works that looks like they have been turned off or no longer function. Even in Winter there are a lot of different birds around. My kids loved following and chasing the large pelicans in the lake. You can fish here and there are children's fishing competitions. Just keep in mind to have a permit because when we went there was a police officer checking and ticketing people.
