The good: This place was a hidden gem! The price is very cheap and the park is huge. I love the vintage playground pieces and how they're all spread apart so each kid gets their space. There's a communal bench area that's covered that looks good for parties (with a cool King Neptune statue). There are really beautiful and unique stone water fountains shaped like seashells integrated into the walls. It feels like a magical little park with groovy animals/shapes. My kid was able to enjoy the splash pad all to herself. There's an outdoor shower right by it as well to rinse off. The splash pad was interactive and fun. There are various swing sets here of different styles fit for different ages. There was ample parking. Many of the areas are shaded. The bad: We came upon opening hours and the gate wasn't open yet. People opened it around 7 minutes late. My husband and I were about to leave but luckily stood around trying to make phone calls for long enough that someone eventually came and opened the gate. Revisit? No, sadly! Atlantis Play Center is not maintained well. It's disappointing because it could be a pleasant, fun place for families. Instead there's bird poop, spider webs, and litter everywhere. The splash pad wasn't operating when we visited. Some of the playground equipment is rusty. All of it is outdated with some strange design choices. We were the only ones there, which after a while was sad and a bit creepy. I like that there's so much shady greenery and that the park is fenced in with an affordable admission fee. In fact, that's how an Instagram influencer convinced me to check this place out (last time I listen to that person, ay yi yi). But it's messed up how the ticket seller took our money with a big smile and told us to have a good time -- not letting us know that the splash pad was broken and sending us to play in a neglected mess. When I asked about the splash pad, I was told to contact Garden Grove city hall for updates. Not sure what's going on with this place. Maybe the employees could at least pick up trash and wipe away bird poop. read more

Sigler Park splash pad closed early unexpectedly due to maintenance this season so we went to Atlantis. Plenty of parking. Cost $2 for entry for ages 3 and up. Inside has several playground area and two large areas with picnic tables. We were only there for the splash pad. It's much smaller than Sigler and the kids got bored easily. The only advantage I see is if you throw a gathering and have your party hang out at the picnic tables. Then they are free to room Atlantis which we didn't explore. It's literally a small version private park within a park. I took my kid and his cousins here for GG Christmas & Easter festival that was put together by the city, also city summer camp too. It is big, it has simi small hills, confession section, among others. It's also for rent too. Quite nice and they do have small private parking too. read more

DON'T GO HERE. When we got there it looked almost abandoned, it was so quiet. No one else was there and the place is huge. I asked if it was open on my way in because it was the dead. Joke's on me, now I know why!! For starters, they don't tell you the splash pad is closed for maintenance on your way in. You have to discover that for yourself. I talked to the employees up front about it on our way out, 10 minutes after going in. I asked if I missed the sign that the splash pad is closed and they said they don't have one. According to the people up front, they're also "not allowed to tell guests it's closed" when they come in unless they ask. They said it's actually been closed all summer and they don't know when it will be fixed. Okay, let's make lemonade out of lemons then. Why not just enjoy the other play structures? Would love to... however ***everything*** is soooo run down. Coming from someone who doesn't normally care about anything enough to write a negative review... don't go here. All of the climbing structures are crumbling, dirty, worn, and covered in bird poop. All. of them. I saw 4 stray cats running around in there. The splash pad doesn't work. I don't know why they're even open to be honest. I actually feel bad for the facility itself. I'm sure it was amazing when it was clean, taken care of, and the splash pad worked. We took our baby here for the splash pad, this is the first time we are here, my baby has her swim suit on her and I have a towel in my hand, after we paid we figure out the splash pad doesn't work. We came back right away and telling them we come here for the splash pad and it doesn't work can we get out and have our moneys back. They said no refund. I said at least tell us the splash pad doesn't work when we come in. They told me they have no responsibility to tell everyone the splash pad doesn't work. To be honest we would like to pay to get in the park. It is a nice one. But they are so cold blooded when they even mention to people who look like go there for the splash pad. It is not to hard to tell, my girl she wear swim suit and we are not the only one in front of us is a big family about with 4-5 kids, they come in with all water toys and towels in their hand. Visited the Atlantis Play Center today with friends and their kids (ages 3 youngest to 6 oldest). The area is fully enclosed so it's safe for kids to freely roam and run around. There were like 6 different play areas, plenty of shade, awesome seating areas, a lot of grassy areas to sit if you want a picnic, and a splash pad area to help the kids cool off. There is a small cost of $2 per person (as of June 19,2024), which I thought was so reasonable. If you have small children and looking for a safe fun area for the kids to burn off some energy, this is an awesome place. The shaded picnic tables offer plenty of seating. We came on a week day, so it was not too crowded, but it may get more crowded on weekends. Either way though, a great place and plenty of area to play. read more

I appreciate that Atlantis is an enclosed area, so it's easier to wrangle wild kids... gives an added feeling of safety that only kid-accompanied adults are in area... Also good for parties and small groups. There I'd also a shower to rinse off. But if u just wanna do a splash pad with very active or bigger kids, not worth it. Walking around the Atlantis Play Center in Garden Grove, you can't help but notice how much care goes into the well-maintained and beautiful landscaping. Admiring and photographing the landscape alone is enough of a reason to come here and pay the $2, cash-only admission fee. They really do take care of the greenery here, and it is worth going just for a nice stroll through it. However, the greenery is just about all that is maintained, and that will become more apparent to you as you walk through the area and observe the playground equipment. The playground equipment was an absolute bummer, and I wish they spent more time and money on maintaining it. All of the slides, monkey bars, swings, and play tunnels were dirty, horribly sun-faded, chipping away, and in many cases covered in bees and red ants. The splash pad, though very compact, is probably the biggest reason to bring your kids here. With all the playgrounds, excluding one, being so small and spread apart you'll be thankful for the splash pad with only one exit if you bring small children. I was thankful for there only being one exit in the park, at least from what I could observe, because it is rare I get to let my son roam near-independently without having to worry about him escaping without me noticing. Overall, there is so much more that could be done with this place, and that is why I give it two stars. From consolidating and properly maintaining the play equipment for a better play experience, to expanding upon the biggest attraction which is the splash pad, I see so much untapped potential going to waste. read more

This is a fun park. As others have noted, some the of the equipment is a bit old, but my kids didn't complain. Lol. They had such a great time playing at the splash pad. It was nice to finally find one that's actually open again. It's not a huge splash pad, so it's easy to keep your eye on the kids. After we dried the kids off we took a walk around and they played on other stuff. The park area is beautiful and surrounded by different trees with random park/play bits scattered about. Google maps GPS took us to the other side of the entrance by the dog park. Make sure you drive up on Atlantis Way for the entrance side. read more

I bought tickets for the Jack O lantnern Jamboree they had for halloween 2021. I have never been here nor have I ever attended a garden grove city event before this. The entry fee was reasonable for adults and children. I found the place easy to locate with plenty of parking. The line for check in was a bit long and took a while to get through but fortunately we had enough time to enjoy the festivities. Some of the activities included face painting, petting zoo, reptile zoo, pumpkin picking, trick or treating stations, games and sweet treat food snacks. The park was big enough to maintain some distance between events. They had a lot of vendors set up tent to contribute to the event. The play activities were fun and kept my 3 and 5 year old's attention. I love all the playgrounds and slides they have here too. Please fix this playground! I took my daughter to share her one of my memories as a child. But, it wasn't that great. I showed her the big snake slide which was super slippery which ended in hitting the floor which is rubber so that was a burn. The playground is very run down, I don't think it's ever been repainted either. Some pieces were tapped up, the sand was so full of branches and leaves overall just seemed dirty. read more

Location - Park is a bit hidden to find but if you use GPS its not too bad. Parking - On a busy weekend it can be a bit crazy trying to find parking. Park - Place is pretty chill as they have multiple sections as in Birthday area, water area, slides, and other areas for the kids to play. Admission - I forgot the cost to get in but it was very minimal from what I recall. Crowd - They have a limit on how many can be in the area, but eventhough it was a busy weekend it didnt feel packed at all. Amazing little park for little ones. There's plenty of spots to climb and run around. The table rental of $5 is a great deal for parties & everyone is good about respecting each other's space & personal belongings. (Obviously, I would still keep valuables on you if you leave to wander the park.) I love that there's only 1 entry & exit so there's a little bit of piece of mind that your kids will never wander too far or get jacked. That also being said, I also like that you have to be part of a party or with a child to enter. I'm all for adding extra safety for the kids! Screen away!! (There's a bunch of homeless in the garden grove park on the other side of the wall that I noticed. It definitely increased after the crackdown by Angel's stadium.) The bathrooms are clean, there's soap in the dispenser, paper towels and working hand blowers. The staff is really nice and very helpful. I wish there was a vending machine for drinks & snacks but they let you bring your own...I just love vending machines. :) read more

So first off, you have to pay two dollars to go in. I do find that ridiculous in the aspect of there are a lot of other parks that you can go for free in a lot of play areas that are free to the community. Also, assuming that you paid the money, you would get all the amenities that come with this place center. The biggest part of it is usually the little swing set and obviously the splash pad. When I went here, the splash pad was not even turned on or working. a lot of the slides and play area looked very rundown. I think the best Bang for your buck is to use the picnic area where you can host birthday parties. It looked very clean. But also on the contrary, if you walk right outside there is free. Open space park with a bunch of playground with slides and an open field and grass and play areas as well. I honestly didn't feel like the two dollars was worth it. I maybe walked around a good 2030 minutes, maybe push my baby on the swing set. And that was it. There was really nothing else that she could play and everything else was so rundown that I did not want her on it and I didn't want her hurting herself. I really hope that they renovate this area for entry, or even fix a splash pad. I haven't gone back in months, so I am not sure if any of these work but I would not go back until all those things are working. read more

This place is soooo awesome! Came here on a Tuesday after Labor Day. Literally on the other side of Bolsa Grande off Atlantis. Kinda hard to find. I believe it opens all summer until the end of Sept. the cute mini water park (Splash Pad) was super fun and cool for the kids. It's super small but entertained the kids for hours. There's benches where u can grab lunch at. $2 for adults and kids over 3 There was like 8-10 different playgrounds. This place was HUGE!!!! We went on a weekday so it wasn't crowded at all... Wish this was open all year round, given the perpetual heat in socal. Took our toddler here and he thoroughly enjoyed. Well at least he thoroughly enjoyed watching the other kids. (He likes playing with water but doesn't like getting water on is head or his face splashed. ...crap, what kind of parents are we?) Let me regroup... Um ya, so... in addition to the splash playground, there are like 4 or more other playgrounds with slides, swings etc., all with a marine theme. There are also several well-shaded shelter areas to hold birthday parties and what not. And plenty of foliage for picnic or just plain chilling while your kids run off and play. The $2 per child is definitely worth it as there is essentially a small water park within the park, not just some dinky little fountain kids can run through. And the rest of the park is unexpectedly large such that it feels like a regional park, which you'd pay at least $3 for on a weekday anyways. You definitely don't feel like you're next to a freeway and a high school as your GPS will show. FYI, re: parking, don't make the mistake I did of entering the last driveway into the parking lot by the park entrance - it is an EXIT ONLY. I almost hit a car that was leaving yikes! The one entrance to the parking lot comes up much sooner than that. Perhaps there needs to be a sign at that entrance to indicate that. Or perhaps I need stronger glasses. read more

Being a hot summer day we were looking for a splash pad and came across Atlantis Play Center. The place is pretty big, but it was helpful that they had a map to navigate. There are 4 playgrounds for kids of all ages, a splash pad and a large picnic pavilion (for large parties available to rent) and tons of grassy areas to picnic and hangout. For $2 admission for anyone over age 3 we can't complain at all. The park is older, the play sets and statues are clearly aging and haven't been updated. The play sets were really dirty and rusty. They could use a sweep to clear dust, cobwebs and leaves. The park has a ton of trees that offer a lot of shade but unfortunately none of that shade is on the play sets. Our favorite part was the splash pad. There was 8 benches surrounding the splash pad making it very easy for parents and friends to watch their kids. There was also a lifeguard who stands there and monitors the children. Mainly there to make sure kids aren't running or standing on the statues. Overall a good time and a couple hours of entertainment for the kids. read more

I visited in May 2022, and was told by David Willes, the manager, that the splash pad would be open in June 2022. I spent 1.5 hours driving down here today only to find it closed until June 2023. When I asked for a refund because our sole purpose was to go to the splash pad, David refused, stating that they had a "no refund" policy. I asked where that was reflected on their sign at the entrance. He said that it wasn't on the sign, but was reflected on their website. Lie no. 1 (see attached photo of the website re: costs). I told him that we had made the drive down based on the information he himself had provided face-to-face back in May. He stated that he never told me that. Lie no. 2. In fact, my recollection of what he told me is bolstered by Amanda C's reply to my initial review back in May stating that the splash pad would be reopening June 7 (see attached screenshot of her reply. Screenshot was necessary in case she tries to delete it in view of this update). He then tried to blame me for the misinformation he had fed me by stating, "You could have called." I told him that I was relying on the information both he and his supervisor had given to me, and that it was not reflected on either Yelp or Google. He said, "We're not on Yelp or Google." Lie no. 3. Please see attached screenshot which shows that Atlantis or the City of Garden Grove DOES, in fact, maintain a presence on Yelp, and that they are responsible for replying to reviews, and updating the hours and location. He then stated, "I can give you passes to return." I told him that would be acceptable, as long it would be for next year, when the splash pad would reopen (David informed me it was closed because there was a part that was broken, and it apparently takes the City of Garden Grove an entire year to order the one part and repair the splash pad). He said it was only until the end of the year. I told him that did not serve much of a purpose, since the splash pad would be closed in September. He said that was their policy. I again asked where that was reflected on the signage at the entrance, and he replied it was on the website. I searched and searched the website, but could not find anything about reentry passes only being good until the end of the year or that they could not be extended. He then gave me his supervisor, Amanda C's card, and told me that I could "follow up" with her. Given the misinformation she gave me in response to my initial Yelp review, I won't waste my time. This place lies to and steals from its patrons. It has little regard for park-goers and wastes their time. I'm sure taxpayers and the IRS would be interested in this cash-only operating with a no-refund policy where no receipt was given or offered (perhaps because they don't want a paper trail). read more

I grew up in Garbage Grove (off Garbage Grove Blvd and Trash Av) and we would go there often in the 70s. To a little kid it feels huge, and the dragon slide (which would have a Star Wars-like line) seemed infinite. We would bring waxed paper. I think it's against the rules now, but I would just take out the roll and stick it in my front pocket. "He must really love the dragon slide!", they'd think. I think it was free back then, and fifty cents by the late 80s when my little sister had the occasional birthday party. Now it is $2. I think they should have memberships. Maybe $20 a year, or at least $20 a summer for the splash pad. The membership cards should be butt-sized and make of waxed paper. Anyway, I recently took my nephew and niece here for the splash pad area. My niece was enjoying it a little too much. She was squat standing. When I starting singing, "apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur..." my sister grabbed her and shut that down. read more

Atlantis Park is one of the oldest parks in Garden Grove. It was established in 1963 and many older folks talk about when they used to go and play. Admission is only $1. The great thing is that you won't see sketchy lookin people because the park requires kids to be accompanied by an adult and adults can't get in without kids. The theme is "Atlantis" so all the play areas are based on sea creatures or objects. The park is famous for its long dragon slide but also has a whale slide where the kids come out the mouth of the whale. Has infant/toddler and bigger kid swings. Very nicely decorated and they try to keep the park in good shape. There are some outdated items and volunteers or employees are limited. Plenty of landscaping, shade, trees, flowers, etc. The park is also full of domesticated rabbits running around. One day I counted about 12. Parking is plentiful and close. The play center is next to other park districts with other amenities more for adults. Atlantis has a large area for seating which is good for birthday parties. You can tell that they built this place to handle many visitors and used to have a full-on refreshment stand. read more

I came to Atlantis Play Center with very high expectations. Perhaps that was my biggest mistake. :( I went with my brother and his family, which includes three boys, ages 1, 5 and 8. The entrance fee is $1 per person, so it was only $5 for all of us. (we didn't have to pay for the baby). I gotta say that the highlight of the park was of course the big slide (dragon?) the rest of the park was quite disappointing. We came in 1 hour before they closed and had PLENTY of time. I think that there is a lot of potential and really like the fact that it's closed off but it is pretty dirty. The two water fountains that I saw were filled of dirt/mud/leaves. (See pics!) and the paint on most of the play areas seemed dated. There are also A LOT of trees at the park, which was a negative on the day that we went because it was REALLY cold. But I know this is a good thing during those hot summer days. With all that being said, it IS better than most other parks and the kids did seem to enjoy themselves for a while. With a little clean up job, this place could definitely get 5 stars. read more

There was literally no one else there so we had the whole park to ourselves. Our son enjoyed everything. He really likes the big dragon slide. The place seem to be very well maintained. There is a splash park (not active when we were there) that looked like it would be a favorite for the young ones. There are tables and benches that could accommodate very large parties. This little gem is hiding at the end of a cul de sac! What a great place for parties and parents!! Open 10am - 4pm ($2 per person) to keep out the riff raff ;) and all kinds of places for kids to play. Swings, slides, trails, even a water area (toddler freindly). Tons of shade for the parents, tons of tables to sit at (groups require a reservation). I can't believe almost no one knows about this place. You can NOT enter without a kid! :) This is a great safety feature IMO. If you are attending a party you can enter but you need to know the name of the party. Love it! Anyway... grab your little bro/sis/nephew/niece/son/daughter...and let them go nuts while you nap until 4pm!! :) Enjoy... read more
