CSS is a moving, storage , and shipping company specifically designed for college students. I want to comment to the 3 bad reviews posted. The "misunderstanding" was a student who wasnt in the state and his roommate told us to take items to storage, plus we had to go back to residence 3 times to get items, no one answered phone numbers on file on numerous attempts, including mom, so we wasted a TON of time. Finally when we were able to talk to son, we did what we were told from hi, and the mom was upset because she wanted something different. Then the girl with the "damaged furniture" it was particle board Ikea items that she assembled poorly to begin and fell apart when it they were moved, she also told us she had way less items than what she had when we picked it up, making the bill higher than the estimate I gave her over the phone. Finally, yes we were late with the 3rd student because we were picking up and delivering 15-20 students on the pick up and delivery days for him. We have no clue how long each is going to take. We try to do the best we can, On busy days we email all students ahead of time that deliveries are between 9am-5pm and to be patient, he wasn't. This student still had their items picked up and delivered on the days they asked for. Check out BBB for complaints. We have zero in a 20 year time span! These are a few disgruntled customers. I wanted to make sure to comment and defend my business about each one. We work closely with students and and parents through out the summer. We are not a traditional moving company where we milk the clock, we go extremely fast. This is our 20th year in business. In May, my son signed up for CSS, packed up his boxes and dropped them, along with his ski bag, in the pile of other boxes on the sidewalk in front of the dorm. Then he walked away, thinking that was all he needed to do. No contract signed, no payment info given to CSS. Come August, when he called to retrieve his stuff, they had no record of receiving them. Which they wouldn't since the kid didn't sign anything! The owner, Michael, answered the phone every time we called, recognized our name and assured us he was still looking. After 3 calls, it was looking bleak. There are other storage companies and one of them might have inadvertently picked up the boxes. But he told us not to give up, that he'd keep looking, and the warehouse progressively emptied, and after 4 days of searching, VOILA! Michael called. He'd found everything and wanted to arrange next-day delivery. Not only that, he felt bad about our trouble and offered not to bill us. I absolutely refused. In fact, I feel I should pay him extra for all the effort he went to. Michael is a true professional, an owner who understands that the success of his business is intertwined with the satisfaction of his customers. He must have known that the error was on our end from the moment my son first called, but he never said so, he always treated us with respect and he gave us hope we'd find the boxes. We will definitely be using CSS again next year, this time doing things correctly. read more

I cannot tell you the last time I had this good of customer service in my lifetime. I am a Mom in CA with a sophomore son & we use CSS at the end of his freshmen year to store everything we could from his dorm for the Summer. Everything was delivered on time, packaged perfectly. When the snowstorm recently hit in Boulder I contacted Mike the Owner to ask if he could help my son who had the flu and living in a fraternity house with no heat in his room and ~7 outside... and no transportation. Mike went to Target, purchased a large heater, heated blanket, medicine, food, and other stuff my son desperately needed it and delivered it in two hours!!! We learned that night the heater was too much power for the outlets and needed to now be exchanged - thus trucking back out in the snow to do this all again. Sure enough the next morning Mike came back to the fraternity got the heater, went back to Target in the snow, exchanged it and back in an hour!!! Unbelievable!! He charged us a very reasonable rate...and made a huge difference in my son recovering from bring so sick. I cannot thank him enough... He really went over the top. Thank you Mike.. I've used this company's services for the last two years, and it is unbelievable how much they have improved my moving experience. I put all of my roommates on to the company as well and have heard no complaints whatsoever. The employees who helped me out were always willing to go the extra mile for us: calling with ETAs, offering to bubblewrap things, assembling furniture, just about anything. Admittedly, it's expensive to hire movers. It's something I didn't think I would be able to do as a full-time student, but CSS is much more affordable than the other options I checked out. If moving gives you as much anxiety as it gives me, it is absolutely worth the price tag. read more

pretty expensive, much more than any other place around. They also said no problem that they can come in and grab a few things, then whopped it onto the invoice for coming in the house and we couldn't protest it because they did it. Also when we got the stuff back, there were foot prints on two of the bags - heavy boot prints - that were not there when we gave them in. I think they employ college kids for one time employment so there is no real need to be safe or careful as they won't be around when the items are returned. CSS was referred to me by a friend. I already had another moving company lined up, but CSS' prices were more reasonable, so I made the switch. These guys fit me in last minute and totally exceeded my expectations in every way - they were fantastic! I've hired a lot of Colorado moving companies over the years, and I have never seen a crew work so diligently and efficiently. The were fast AND careful. CSS is the most competent company I've ever been associated with. Working with these fellas from 1/2 way across the country and coordinating summer storage and fall delivery was beyond simple. Fast, efficient, friendly. I had an amazing experience! I've been trying to move some large items for months, and the two gentlemen who showed up today were absolutely wonderful: fast and very professional. I had a treadmill in the house we were moving to, and I asked them to help without us even mentioning it, and they were happy to help with disassembling and reassembling it. It was a huge help.
