Booked for 5am on the phone, was told a few days before my pickup that the driver will be coming at 4.45am- no big deal. Then while I was getting ready, at 4.15 I received a call from CTC. I was told the driver is coming at 4.30, I said I wont be ready and asked the driver to wait for our agreed pick up time (which was 15 mins earlier than what I booked for). They said NO! "he can't wait for you, this is for your convenience so that you won't miss your flight". My flight was at 6.10am. I told her that it's fine and a 4.45 pickup will be ample time. again, I was told that my driver will NOT wait for me if I'm later than 4.35. So, I got there at 4.30, and hopped into the car, there was a pack of cigarettes left on the car floor either from a previous passenger or the driver. I was then told that he was picking up a second passenger. What kind of taxi service is this? I didn't get a carshare booking. So we drive off to get this other person, and we make our way to the airport. Once getting there, I asked if I could pay with Apple Pay, my driver said yes and then took my phone and asked me for the credit card numbers, I replied with 'oh you need the card numbers' to which he replied 'duh, of course'. Really? Not a very polite experience at all. After getting out of the car, I found out that the other passenger also booked for 5am and was told that 'the other passenger (me) has requested to leave at 4.30'. But, of course this was all for our convenience, and they really cared that we might've missed out flight at 6.10. Honestly one of the worst experience I've had with any company, and this service was not worth a single cent that I spent. NEVER take this if it can be avoided. read more

I have used this cab service multiple times and never had a huge problem. Honestly, I do not know why so many people have claimed to have terrible service. Maybe people have too high of expectation or do not know anything about taking taxis. First, the phone service people are probably not the most intelligent, but they have never been rude. They have made me wait on the phone but only a minute at the most. FYI the girl is better than the guy. Second, I have only had to wait 30-45 minutes at the most for a taxi, and they mentioned that beforehand. Each time the taxi has showed up where they were supposed to. A few times drivers had no idea where I was, but they found me eventually. Several times I have had a shit ton of stuff. Once I moved from North Campus to West Campus and the driver helped me load everything into the cab. Another time my bike had a flat tire and the driver helped me fit the bike in the cab. The drivers are usually polite and not that sketchy. Someone I trust to get from point A to point B. Also, They do not make pointless conversation like other cab drivers do. Most importantly they are cheap. Taking an cab to Elmira with Ithaca Dispatch would cost me 115$, Collegetown only cost $85 and I had to stop at the bank, but they didn't charge me for the ATM stop. Maybe cheap price does equal cheap service, but if you need to take a taxi chances are you are already having a shitty day. The low prices and nice drivers keep me calling Collegetown Cab whenever I am in a pinch. read more

I needed to use this service for three days to get to Tompkins County Courthouse to serve as a juror. Five out of the six days my ride showed up within five to ten minutes of the scheduled time. The service was good. The drivers were friendly and accommodating. Out of my six rides, only one day the driver was late because so many other drivers called in. I would recommend that you schedule five to ten minutes before you need the service. This was my first experience using a cab in Ithaca and I believe that I used the right company. I especially appreciated the text messages telling me the driver, the car and that they were on their way. They were very kind to me as I was very anxious about serving as a juror. I was VERY PLEASED with the service that card number 54, driver Tiffany provided me today on my trip to Vestal to the dentist. She was extremely friendly very personable and professional but also made me feel very comfortable and knowing that I'm terrified of the dentist she kept my mind off of the fear of going in to the dentist office and before I knew it I was at the facility and I wasn't afraid at all. From now on this is the only company I will use and if I can Tiffany is the only driver I will ride with. I highly recommend it if you use this company and you should request car #54, Tiffany!!! This is a great company to call for a ride to somewhere. They have really nice drivers. They are always on time for pick ups and there dispatchers Chris,Mike,and Rob are really nice. The pink or green or purple, even orange, are not Collegetown cabs. They are a different company. Dispatchers and drivers are like everyone else, they are only human. And the rude dispatcher you was talking is only 1 of 5 dispatchers that works there. I already named the nicest and most helpful ones. Don't think that just a few ppl have had a bad experience. This cab company is the worst in ithaca so don't use them their known to steel their drivers money. The owner of this company makes a living off of ripping his employees off of their money and that is why they go through so many drivers and that is why alot of their drivers are pot heads and have no respect for the costumers and they also allow other costumers to feel up other costumers and not turn it in to the cops as well as allowing certain costumers to rob their drivers and the drivers having to pay it back when they aren't at fault. read more

I was greatly disappointed after needing a ride home from the hospital to find the lack of adherence to policy by my Collegetown cab driver. He did not care for social distancing and did not want to keep his mask on while close. I then had to listen to his specious factoids about the "truth" of covid 19 not even being a virus and that it doesn't really affect the lungs , and on and on info from right wing conspiracy theorists. Best taxi service in Ithaca. The dispatcher told me the cab would arrive in 15 minutes and showed up in 10 minutes. The driver was pleasant and definitely knew his way around Ithaca, taking me through areas and down streets is never knew existed. He got me to my appointment 15 minutes early! I was very pleased. In the past, I've tried other cab companies and their wait times were always longer than they said they would be and caused me to be late to things. While driving around Ithaca in my own car, I have noticed how fast and erratic Collegetown Cabs drive. Today one of those too-fast Collegetown Cab minivans plowed into the back end of my car and totalled it. The driver was furious that I had been "just sitting in the road." I was stopped to make a left-hand turn into a parking lot and my turning signal was on! I say if you get in a Collegetown Cab, you are risking your life! read more

She even told us about how the early movie industry moved from Ithaca to California (Hollywood) because of the unpredictable weather.
