We visited the gravesites of several of our relatives at more than one cemetery. We ended up at Crestwood and couldn't find my niece's grandparents graves. What hurt most was not just the mistake itself, but the way it was handled afterward. When the oversight came to light, we were met with a response that felt distant and insufficient, as though the emotional weight of the situation had not been fully understood. We were told there was little that could be done beyond offering a refund. They did offer to order the flowers once the error was discovered, but this was after the service had ended. The moment had passed, and with it, our chance to honor her as we had envisioned. We declined, because the trust we had placed in them had already been shaken. A refund cannot restore a moment that has already slipped away. It cannot replace the absence of something so symbolic on a day filled with grief. The opportunity to honor our grandmother in the way we had carefully planned was gone, leaving behind a quiet ache that words cannot fully capture. Our family has owned these burial plots since 1944, a place tied to generations of memory and meaning. To stand there, knowing something so important had been overlooked, made the experience feel even more hollow. We were left to carry that disappointment alongside our grief and try to move forward. I brought my older overlocker machine that I inherited from a relative in to be serviced after…read morefighting with it for a bit and deciding something was wrong with it. In about 3 days they let me know it was ready. Sean very kindly explained that there wasn't anything "wrong" with it, it was set up for a rolled hem foot and I was trying to overlock with it. After I stared blankly at him he showed me how to tell the difference and told me to just change the foot to an overlock foot and it would be good to go. Upon arriving home and discovering to my horror that I had no overlock foot, I called back and asked if they sold them or could tell me where to find one. Sean again explained that the machine was very old and they no longer made parts for it, but he would look around and see if he could find an extra in his stuff. Sure enough, he called me back to let me know that he did have one and would be happy to check that it fit. So 9 minutes and $20 later, I have a working machine that does what I was wanting it to do and a deep appreciation for Sewing Machine Mart. Sean was so patient and kind even when I felt like an absolute idiot for not knowing anything about this machine. Highly recommend!
