He had referred me to a Piedmont Head and Neck surgeon. When my wife and I got there the Surgeon's staff had n referral on file nor any of my information. Given that my Primary Care Doctor, Cardiologist as well as my Urologist are all Piedmont doctors, I found it very curious that they had no information about why I was there, Needless to say, we left. I let Piedmont Cancer know about the snafu and they referred me to Piedmont ENT on Peachtree. Again, we got there and meet with a doctor who , again, had no idea why I was there. It was to have a surgical biopsy on my right lymphnoid. After the exam, he had referred my to Emory Winship Cancer Institute. Given all my doctors were Piedmont doctors, my experience with Piedmont Cancer Institute was extremely disappointing. To top it off, where they charge me $50.00 for a smoking eval, where they had asked the following questions: how long have I smoke and how may packs a day. Some eval!!! It may be convenient location but not worth the aggravation and time lost.

Dr. Smiddy spent more than 30 minutes, one on one, going over my medical history and was steadfast in his pursuit of details regarding my health. He's also a bit of a rare find in that he possesses a very keen sense of listening. Furthermore, while the results of my bloodwork were good and unloaded into the patient's portal the following morning, Dr. Smiddy had an associate call me just to reassure me that everything was fine, which is a courtesy I've not experienced since patient records were put online. I am young and used to not being listened to, but this visit took it to the worst possible level. Dr. Mabile has ignored my pain on multiple visits before this since 2022 and never provided any medication or numbing, but what I experienced with Dr. Illston can only be described as casual cruelty. She first left me in the room for over 45 minutes, then came in and out repeatedly, leaving for long periods. She also refused to re-prescribe me my birth control, which cost about $2.00 with insurance, even after I asked. She instead prescribed me Slynd (which they seem to be pushing lately), which costs over $200 even with insurance. During the pap smear "attempt," I was given no pain relief, and she ignored my discomfort and pain and tried to tell me that a tampon and speculum were the same size; therefore, this should be no problem. She also inquired about my sexual activity and virginity status, then recommended penetrative sex as a way to get used to the pain. Needless to say, her comments were extremely inappropriate and rude, bordering on discriminatory language. I would not recommend this practice to any woman of color or queer person, as they are not affirming or understanding in the slightest. Dr. Illston, in particular, should be fired. For such a medically invasive field, one would hope they'd be better, but practice does not care about you or your feelings.

I've seen Dr Raghavan for about 25 years. My mother and father also saw him for years. There is…read morenot another doctor like him I have ever seen. He LISTENS. I know he has heard me when I leave. He is an excellent diagnostician. If he does not know what the problem is he has always made referrals to excellent doctors. He gets to know you. You are important to him. He notices Little things that others would not. One day I had a cut on my arm from blackberry bushes which looked like a Clean deep knife cut. He noticed it even though I was seeing him about something else. Dr Raghavan was very quick to inspect it and throughly ask about it. At first I was taken a bake about why he was so concerned about it. But then I appreciated that he noticed and wanted to make sure I had not been harmed in someway beyond a blackberry thorn. I have a difficult medical history due to systemic lupus, diabetes, asthma etc. He keeps up with me and is encouraging to me to work to not give up and To improve, which by the way I have. He goes out of his way for his patients. Several years ago I went to see him with the flu. I had driven myself but could hardly walk. He offered to let me stay in one of his rooms and take me home at lunchtime. I was going to take him up on it, but my brother was available to come get me. My parents felt the same way about him. He provided them with wonderful care just the same as he does me. So this should be 3 stellar reviews instead of one.
