Plant City Animal Hospital - From rag-tag neighborhood vagabond to his forever home. Thanks, Dr. Montgomery for knowing so much about cats and giving him back his life.

Plant City Animal Hospital is a great place to take your pet. If you're looking a vet office that…read morecares, isn't alarmist, and is fair and open about pricing, check this place out. My cat ginger hadn't been feeling well for the last few days. She's rarely sick and figured a visit to the vet was due. I called and made an appointment for 2:20 pm on Thursday. Early Thursday, I called to check on any cancellations but there were none. However, I was told to come in at 1 pm and if they could squeeze me in, they would do their best. I arrived at 1 pm and got checked in. Haley at the front desk was kind and welcoming. She got me all checked in and I waited. I ended up being seen early around 1:30 pm. Everyone I dealt with was super kind and was very clear and up-front about pricing and what they would do care-wise. They were delicate, kind, and soothing to my cat. They made sure she was calm and distracted. I've never seen my cat so quiet and non-squirmy. I was given peace-of-mind of my cat's health, I wasn't bombarded with product endorsements and I wasn't panicked with a bunch of costly tests or overnight observations. Everything, including medicine, was under $200. If you're looking for a vet, look no further. I highly recommend Plant City Animal Hospital.

Outstanding, professional and caring. I am a client for over 12 years and don't begrudge the 45 min…read moredrive for such a high standard of care. The facility is beautiful and welcoming and everyone involved is kind and impressively competent . I enthusiastically recommend this veterinary practice without hesitation, and so do my dogs.

We left our dog for daycare, as we have done many times, but unfortunately we got tied up in…read moretraffic on our way to pick her up. We called telling the staff we were running late and could they please wait a few minutes for us to get there. The answer was "we can't stay after 6pm for safety reasons" and that we would have to leave Emma overnight, which is what ultimately happened. Then when we picked her up in the morning, they had the balls to charge for boarding, even though I still have prepaid daycare that hasn't been used up. They have my money for that, but gave me a bulls--t story that it's a different service, so I couldn't use it as payment for the boarding. This place is totally about their own convenience and the cash flow, not how a person cares about a "Family member" They also said there is NO ONE in the building after 8:00 pm. Suppose there was a fire or other emergency, the animals wouldn't stand a chance. I am definitely going elsewhere for vet veterinary services and have had them send all of my records to me. It's a shame, because I really like the doctors here, but the manager and her attitude is beyond words.

The staff were courteous, sales oriented and forgetful. I don't like it that my Yorkie was taken…read moreout of my site line for care, but I understand that owners can't be in the treatment rooms. Still don't like it. This clinic used to stock the flea medication I have used for all of my pets for over 20 years. They stopped carrying it but instead charge $25 for the prescription. No other vet is going to fill his prescription so I'm forced to pay $190 plus shipping online. That requires a wait so you better get it all done before you need it. I took my 13-year-old Yorkie in for a yearly check up which cost almost $500. I agreed to a $450 dental appointment the next Tuesday. There is an extra charge for any extra extractions, for which I could not get her to tell me how much each extraction would be. So in less than a week I would've paid this veterinarian thousand dollars or more. I asked for the for Confortis prescription when I made the appointment, when I arrived for the appointment and during the middle of the appointment yet they still forgot. For reasons not known to me they refuse to either send it to the online provider, USPS or email it to me. They insisted I come in and pick up the paper prescription. I was shocked when they told me I had to pay anothet $25. They didn't care that due to their negligence I was required to do another hour round-trip to the vet and pay $25 for a prescription even after $1000 worth of in Office healthcare. I read all the other reviews about the doctor being brusk and I agree with that. That doesn't bother me. I don't have to live with the guy. What does bother me is that his new business principles and practices include marketing and overcharging and less in person contact. There aren't that many veterinarians around here that accept equine patients and that is why my husband chose Walden Lake. We don't currently have a horse trailer so we have in house care visits for now. After the $25 demand to write a prescription for a product he formerly carried in house I realized he is just plain greedy. The office manager actually was still texting me after 7:30 pm trying to get me to travel back over there for the prescription and of course pay for it. ( i actually used to be able to walk in and purchase the 6 month supply in between annual check ups) I finally just cancelled the dental appointment and asked that we end the conversation. From here forward I will use a more convenient and definitely more full service veterinarian than Walden Lake Animal Hospital. I do not feel like a valued customer there.

They are lucky to even be receiving one star. Dr. Bailey is the worst! They tried to double charge…read moreme, hold my dog hostage and refused to give him to me even though THEY OWED ME MONEY! Do not take your animal here!!!!! My husband and I were treated awfully. After my dog got ahold of a Cain toad (very poisonous), they wouldn't start treatment on him until he was paid at least $400. Showing right there that he doesn't care about the animals well being. No problem, my husband paid for it with my debit card, and he were told we would be reimbursed if all of the $400 was not used. The next day my dog was doing great, and they didn't have to use all of the $400, so he owed us money back. He refused to refund the money to my husband because the card used was in my maiden name, not my husbands name (which Dr. Bailey didn't seem to care about the night before when he was getting paid). Also, Dr. Bailey finally admitted that was their screw up the day before. He refused to tell us exactly what medication was given to my dog (who has cancer so I need to know what meds he is given). When we told Dr. Bailey my dog has a mast cell tumor that spread to his lymph nodes in order to provide all medical history, he rudely states "I don't even know what the means". What kind of healthcare professional doesn't know what that means? Being a nurse of over 10 years, that's very common terminology. Then he refused to give me my dog, EVEN THOUGH THE BILL HAD BEEN PAID AND HE OWED US MONEY! He then tried to have me sign a contract stating, "I agree to pay the amount due today". The $311 was listed as "amount due", which I had already paid the day before; THEY OWED ME MONEY! He kept rushing me, not giving the chance to read the fine print. but I caught the error and he finally agreed to rewrite it. He called the cops after putting his hands on me, which of course upset my husband. He tried to push me in the room, and told me to sit like I was a dog. He is a misogynistic, rude old man. I could go on and on about the absolute rude/disrespectful behavior Dr. Bailey exhibited. He talks down to you like you're beneath him, treats his female staff like complete crap, and is a sad excuse of a man, let alone a vet.
