The process started with trying to schedule the appointment, which was frustrating. The individual handling scheduling seemed unfamiliar with how to arrange a farm call and was unable to answer basic questions. When the team arrived, their immediate priority appeared to be obtaining my signature authorizing future charges before addressing my animal's needs. Dr. Bailey arrived with two technicians who, in my opinion, provided little assistance during the visit and struggled to effectively handle the animal. While the issue was ultimately addressed, the overall experience was overshadowed by poor communication and a lack of professionalism. Dr. Bailey's bedside manner was disappointing, and the veterinary technicians came across as borderline rude throughout the visit. After receiving the invoice, I noticed multiple itemized charges, including an "injection administration fee." I have no issue paying a farm call fee, as I understand the convenience and additional travel involved. However, when I called seeking clarification regarding the administration charge, no one in the office could explain it. Eventually, I spoke directly with Dr. Bailey, who informed me in a less-than-professional manner that the fee was charged because he administered the injection. I have worked with veterinarians across the country through professional equine competition and farm animal care, and while the charge itself was relatively minor, the explanation and overall interaction that followed were not. The issue was never the amount charged; it was the lack of transparency, customer service, and professionalism surrounding it. While the medical concern was ultimately resolved, the experience left me feeling more like a billing transaction than a valued client. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will be seeking veterinary care elsewhere in the future.

This clinic used to stock the flea medication I have used for all of my pets for over 20 years. They stopped carrying it but instead charge $25 for the prescription. No other vet is going to fill his prescription so I'm forced to pay $190 plus shipping online. That requires a wait so you better get it all done before you need it. I took my 13-year-old Yorkie in for a yearly check up which cost almost $500. I agreed to a $450 dental appointment the next Tuesday. There is an extra charge for any extra extractions, for which I could not get her to tell me how much each extraction would be. So in less than a week I would've paid this veterinarian thousand dollars or more. I asked for the for Confortis prescription when I made the appointment, when I arrived for the appointment and during the middle of the appointment yet they still forgot. For reasons not known to me they refuse to either send it to the online provider, USPS or email it to me. They insisted I come in and pick up the paper prescription. I was shocked when they told me I had to pay anothet $25. They didn't care that due to their negligence I was required to do another hour round-trip to the vet and pay $25 for a prescription even after $1000 worth of in Office healthcare. I read all the other reviews about the doctor being brusk and I agree with that. That doesn't bother me. I don't have to live with the guy. What does bother me is that his new business principles and practices include marketing and overcharging and less in person contact. There aren't that many veterinarians around here that accept equine patients and that is why my husband chose Walden Lake. We don't currently have a horse trailer so we have in house care visits for now. After the $25 demand to write a prescription for a product he formerly carried in house I realized he is just plain greedy. The office manager actually was still texting me after 7:30 pm trying to get me to travel back over there for the prescription and of course pay for it. ( i actually used to be able to walk in and purchase the 6 month supply in between annual check ups) I finally just cancelled the dental appointment and asked that we end the conversation. From here forward I will use a more convenient and definitely more full service veterinarian than Walden Lake Animal Hospital. I do not feel like a valued customer there.
