They cost us so much money.We called repeatedly and then had to threaten them to with legal action in an attempt to correct multiple leaks. One of their managers, Roy, came out a couple of times with a bucket of "bull" (tar) and slopped some down which had no effect on the leaks.We had to remove and replace drywall and retexture and repaint......more than once. Finally we just tore off the roof and replaced well before it's expected life. Cost? $6000 ..... We regret NOT suing them. read more

Although the salesperson was cordial and knowledgeable, when I signed a contract he gave me a timeframe for when the job would be complete and that turned out to be a great exaggeration. The staff that answered the phone could not tell me when work would actually be started, and put me off for weeks while telling me that they would call me back, but never did. I watched as another company completed 10 roofs on my street (our neighborhood had hail damage,) each of them for less than my contract with Collis. Only once it was weeks past the time the salesperson said it might be complete, and Collis hadn't even started yet, did I angrily contact them and ask to cancel the contract. That finally spurred them into action, and they were in fact at my house the next day. The actual construction of the roof was done in a timely fashion, and I think the crew did a great job with it. Collis knows how to put a roof together. What they don't seem to know, however, is how to work with gutters. As part of the construction, they needed to remove and replace our existing gutters, which have one of those shields on top to prevent leaves and debris from getting into them. These gutters were mangled, and left in my backyard after the roof itself was complete, and I was told they'd be back in a few days to put them back up. Then Collis called for payment. I had to explain that the job wasn't done yet. Collis came back while I was at work and put the gutters back up. When I came home, I found two things wrong with this work. First, the top shield on one of the gutters was mangled and didn't properly cover the gutter it was on, but they had hacked together something else to cover it. Unfortunately, this section of gutter is in a very visible spot. Secondly, there was a three-foot long piece of the gutter assembly (there are multiple parts or layers of these gutter shields) that was just left in the back yard. How they missed that, I can't imagine. When I sent photos to them and asked what happened, they didn't even seem to understand that there was anything wrong. One of the gutters looked like trash, and a three foot-long piece was left out of the assembly. They said they wanted to try to fix it, but their proposed solution was just to paint it. Instead I asked for $150 off my bill, so that I could call an actual gutter company out to fix it properly, and Collis agreed. So in the end I feel that this is a very average company. I think they do a great job building a roof and should stick to that. You have to pay for quality materials and quality workmanship, so I expected Collis to be more expensive, but after comparing with my neighbors' roofs I think Collis is too expensive for the product and service I received. I think their office staff is very disorganized, and they left me frustrated. read more

I am a property manager and I had them give me an estimate for a new roof. While there, they mentioned they do other repairs as well. Have been trying for weeks to get them to give me an estimate on the other work I need so it can all be done at the same time preferably by the same company to make my life easier. If they can't give me an estimate how are they going to do the job? Tried emailing and was told I would be called back. Tried leaving messages and someone did call me to make excuses why I hadn't been called (while some guy yelled at her in the back ground) and to assure me the estimate would be done that day. Was surprised to see some of the reviews below. Late last year we had Collis replace our roof over in Brevard county after getting quotes from different companies. They arranged for facia and soffit replacement as well. It was the exact process you'd want to experience for a roofing company. They came out and provided us a written estimate for all of the work. They provided a brochure with examples to help select the roof color, which also was useful later when we needed to match other things to the roof color. All of the components of the project were installed on time and cleanup was done after the fact. The contract was clear and didn't require an attorney to interpret. They worked with us on a few questions which came up during the project. The last day of roof installation they even stayed to finish, even though it had started raining and I was a little concerned for the guys up there in light rain. No problems months afterwards so overall a great job! read more

I discovered a small leak in my roof. I called and they set up an appointment for me nearly a week later with a time window of 10am-12pm. 12pm past and eventually I called them. They put me on hold and came back telling me that they got stuck on a job and will be more like 1:45pm before they can get to me. So much for calling ahead and letting me know. I actually used Collis Roofing to purchase three doors: one craftsman style front door and two french doors to replace an existing sliding glass door. The prices were reasonable, but the quality was really outstanding. The doors are thick and heavy-- very solid. They french doors have some energy efficient qualities to them, but they aren't top of the line energy efficient, but I can tell you they were so much better than the slider that I had previously. They even installed a small pet door in the french door for me. I wish that I had gotten my energy efficient windows with Collis Roofing too because I loved working with Phillip and the company I used was horrible (NewSouth Window). After the installation of my doors, we noticed a decent drop in our energy bill, too. We are very happy customers! read more

My 18 y/o roof was better than the roof collis put on March 30 2018. We went from have one leak from hurricane Irma to now having at least three leaks as of right now. I'm beyond frustrated with this company and their customer service. When I had the first leak it took five phone calls before getting someone out here. Not only that but when I do speak to someone other than a secretary, they act like I'm inconveniencing them. I'M the one with a BRAND NEW ROOF that is LEAKING!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! i can't believe the terrible service I've gotten so far , Collis Roofing installed by roof in 2015 and its leaking now, of course its out of warranty the man who came to look at it said clay tile was missing and it was a bad install flashing needs to be redone, well one month and 1/2 its still not done i can't even get an estimate from them and they can't schedule until i receive/sign it. Now my bathroom ceiling is falling down near the light. Yesterday i was told they are very busy and she is scheduling appointments now and i said well lets schedule mine she replied she has to send me estimate first, i said well send it to me she said she was too busy and might get to it tomorrow. This company does not honor warranty repairs, they reroofed my house 2 years ago and for the last 6 months it has been leaking. I call them at least once every other week and they will schedule me a month away to come out and look at it. The repair is usually just more black tar stuff. Meanwhile when it rains I have water running into my ceiling and down the inside of my wall and out of electric outlets and from under my baseboards. I would think in 6 months they would fix it and be polite but they are not! They are in litigation right now so I can't speak to the owner, the staff there asked can he call me back. Really? Would not recommend Collis Roofing. We had a new roof put on in November 2015. We are stilling dealing with leak problems. Many phone calls not returned, promises made. They have been out many times to fix the problem. Next rain leaks in same place. I had a roof for 20 years never a problem. We complain they say we will send some out. We never know if they show up. Because we are not at home. No paper work left. We have spoken to Collis Fulton personally many times. Still nothing. Just recently were promise paper work. Showing what work has been done. I will look somewhere else. I had a salesperson out to give estimate on a new roof for one of my houses. Whenever I call to try to reach him with questions on the estimate its like pulling teeth to get a return phone call. I have had to call the office an they contact the person. Today I received a call from my insurance company indicating they would cover my damaged roof when I called the office I asked if I could get the person to call me back and that in the past I had trouble getting return phone calls. She said she would have a manager call me by the end of the day - that never happened. They just lost any possible business from me. I've learned that if you have problems in the beginning that's a good indication how the whole project will go. read more

Just had the Wind Mitigation Inspector leave the house and he REALLY loved the great roof. Issued the Wind Mitigation report on the spot no questions asked. He also emailed it to my insurance people as well so I could get a better rate. He loved the job your guys did and couldn't believe it was completed in just two days. "Thats a lot of roof there" he said. What a great crew. I must admit, not bad sales and supervisor people on this job too ; ) I love this roof, it is a light color and that keeps my house cooler !! I know Irma kept everyone very busy. I called the first of September to get on the list for a quote and roof repair. They said it would be 8 - 10 weeks. Ok no problem. Called again the end of november and was told they would contact me soon. Called in December and they told me I was on the top of the list now and they would contact me within a week . Called again at the end of December and was told they would be calling me back right away. It is now Febuary and still nothing. I called Collis Roofing in September 2017 to set up an inspection of my roof after the hurricane. I understood that they were busy with roofs that may have been damaged or needed complete replacement; and therefore was not dismayed when the receptionist took my name, address, and phone number and said someone would contact me in about a week. A couple weeks went by and no one from Collis Roofing contacted me. I called again and got the same response except this time I was told someone would contact me within a week. After about a week, I called a third time and received the same response. It is now the end of March 2018 and I am still waiting on Collis Roofing to call me. I think this experience is not the abnormal for Collis Roofing but the norm based on the other reviews I have read. They need to work on their customer service, reliability, and integrity. read more

Collis Roofing has always been very helpful and professional in my many years in doing business with them. My roof was damaged from the hurricane and the sales person came out and measured and gave me an estimate which was right in line with other companies. Ken was very polite and helpful. They worked with my insurance company to make sure that all was covered and nothing was missed. I realize that many people are upset because they did not get a roof when expect, but I realize that during a national disaster anything that a hurricane can rip off or knock down those companies have long waiting lists. Would I have liked my new roof yesterday.....yes....but I know that is not realistic. Once my roof got close to a start date, they called and let me know when supplies and workers would show up. The supervisor, Brian, showed up that day with the crew to make sure all went smooth. I found the workers very courteous and did not make a mess whatsoever. Once complete, the inspector came out and all was good. Brian, the supervisor, came out as well to make sure the roof was done correctly and answered any questions I might have as well. Collis Roofing did my roof in the middle of the summer. They left more damage than they fixed. I hate that I went with them. They destroyed my gutters which they weren't supposed to touch, ruined my yard, destroyed my front patio and sink my drainage pipe under my driveway and worst of all there crew for whatever reason decided to turn on my water that I shut off at the water main cause I had a small leak and they flooded my home. I wouldn't recommend Collis if they were the only roofers in Florida. Horrible experience and instead of fixing what they messed up correctly all they cared about was getting paid. From reading other reviews now i don't even know if my roof was installed correctly, if I based it on there shit show of a crew they had and the damage they did I would guess it will only be a matter of time before something shows up wrong with my roof. read more

I don't really have a beef with the work, which was pretty good. Once the job finally got started the crew showed up and worked like banshees. But this company's communication with its customers is really, really bad. That is, it got bad after I signed the contract. Everything goes through the "estimator" (salesman). No one else seems willing to talk with the customer, even an unhappy customer. My roof was completed a couple of months ago and I've yet to receive the warranty documents I was promised would be coming. The salesman keeps saying he'll look into it. I called again today and specifically said I'd rather talk with someone else who can get this matter cleared up and next thing I know the salesman is texting with more excuses and a promise to get back to me. It's pretty unprofessional behavior. When people say government should run like a business, they should specify a well-run business, not one that gives you the runaround. read more

I am very disappointed with Collis. We had an adjuster come out to the house two months ago for an estimate on replacing our roof. The adjuster said we needed a whole new roof and he was supposed to submit an estimate to our insurance company. The insurance has never received an estimate and we have called Collis numerous times over the last two and have not gotten a call back from the adjuster. They never showed up when they scheduled, they would start the job, then leave for 2 weeks at a time. Two months of reaching out to them all I got from them was to ask me if I had another number to reach my insurance company. Roof replaced in 2008 and from the storm in Central Florida last week I have water damage. Roofer came to my house to look at the leak and confirmed that the flashing was not done properly. Now, they are voiding out my warranty because I had an emergency restoration company put the tarp on my roof and not Collis. I advised Collis that they are closed on weekends with no emergency number but they told me that there is a button to click on their website to talk to a rep online. I also told Collis that my Insurance Company is paying for the holes in the roof from the tarp but they said it does not matter. To make matters worse, i have talked to 3 other people with the same exact problem. Maybe if the roof was done correct the first time I would not have a problem to have tarped this time. What a wonderful experience. I got an estimate to replace my roof from 4 different roofing contractors. The sales rep from Collis was the only one who explained all aspects of the roofing process from start to finish and showed me samples of the products they would be using. Everything went exactly as they said it would. The installation crew was extremely respectful of my property and did an amazing job cleaning up. My experience started with quotes from 7 roofers in central Florida, including Collis. For the prices quoted, Collis was just above the middle-range, but offered GAF products which included a warranty that adjusted my insurance from $1300/year to $740/year because the product provided a 130MPH WIND warranty and also passed a wind mitigation inspection with flying colors. Installation was right on time and near perfect (some PVC boot covers for the lead boots were forgotten), however Collis corrected/added the boots the next day. I was so satisfied that I had Collis also provide gutters one month later. read more

I used Collis to replace my roof. The actually roof replacement work is fine. The issue I have is with the estimator. He came out gave an estimate. He stated that this number on the contract was for roof replacement and does not include any wood replacement. I asked what the estimate for wood replacement would cost, He stated about $2,000 or a little more. I said fine, signed the contract. Then the roofer came out and started making another list for more wood than what was originally ordered. The problem I have with Collis is that all the wood replaced was exposed and visible to the estimator and truly believe he lied to me to make a sale. I ended up paying 2.5 times what he originally told me what the wood would cost. So beware of this if you plan on using them either get it writting in the contract or go with a cheaper roofer, because whether you are the most expensive or not they all have to following building codes. read more
