I had…read morebeen looking for a specific Toyota for quite some time, and when I found one here, it was in a body shop, but they kept me very informed of when it would arrive at the dealership. They did not sell it out from under me (thank you Down The Road Motors!). When the vehicle was on the lot, the buying process was easy and they allowed me to get a private inspection--big plus! The mechanic that inspected my car said that the brakes were brand new, and the belts in great condition. He said it was a great little car and encouraged me heavily to buy it. He said he would've drove it round the country that day with full confidence. My new car did start making a belt noise a few days after purchase, and the mechanics at Down the Road Motors squeezed me right in to get my car fixed up and taken care of, no cost on me. Overall, my vehicle was a good value for what it is, however it does have cosmetic issues, mostly scratches and a leaky seal at the top, but that's what you get with an "as-is" used car. My only recommendation is to make sure you look over a car thoroughly to see if it's missing any seat heads, levers, etc--which should be done with any used car! I wasn't told about the things my car was missing so I had to look it over well, nothing that was missing made it worth not buying! I turned off the car and when I tried to restart the car and nothing happened. At this point I was looking at a dead vehicle at night with nothing open and no hotel within 15 miles. I saw two men helping a woman who had locked her keys in her car. They had professional looking tools and I asked if they knew where I could get a tow, and where I might be able to get my car fixed. Keep in mind that this was at 8:30 at night. Turns out that the gentlemen were mechanics at Complete Auto and Tire. The looked at my van and quickly determined that my alternator had failed. My thought was that I would get a hotel and they could fix it in the morning. Denny's does free estimates so I wanted to check the price of fixing the door. I went in and had them check the door showing where the seal was loose. This won't be the case for everyone since more damage would probably require them to hold the car for a longer period of time, but otherwise an overall great experience.

They said they'd keep me updated with any changes, if they needed more money from the insurance, etc. Not once did they call me until my truck was done. I was given a rough estimate of 5 business days. Cool. No word after 8 business days so I call them. Not done. Another 2 business days and I call again. Not done. I wait until the following Friday and they say it's almost done. So I call Tuesday, not done. They finally call me to tell me my truck is done after 3 weeks of not a single update from them. They failed to inform me they had to get 5 thousand more dollars from my insurance because there was internal damage. They didn't even tell me anything when I picked it up. They also charged me for detailing the inside of my car when I never asked to have it done (it wasn't even done that well) the only reason they got two stars is because the body work looks nice.

He was able to get me in within three weeks for some extensive rust damage on a used Ford Escape I had recently purchased. The damage above the rear wheel wells was enough that the metal was going to have to be cut out and new metal welded in its place. He gave me an estimate that I expected to be $500 higher.
