Lucky for us there was a theater near the town where we were told we "must see Skyfall." So quickly the day after our ginormous Thanksgiving meal we head towards Hamilton by Colgate University to check out this theater (across from the Colgate Bookstore). We found free street parking and headed inside. It looks like they have 4 theaters that show at once. This is like your small town indie theater (which was the kind I like!). You pay for your tickets inside before the concession stand and then head to your movie. No student discounts from what I could see. The day after Thanksgiving was packed! Every seat in Skyfall was full and they had to bring in extra seats for the overflow. The way the theater is structured, you actually can sit comfortably in the front row so definitely step up to the plate if there are no others. I did feel a little squished, but I don't think ever anticipated that many people in a single showing. Great theater, great feel, and certainly a highlight of the town.

It has a big screen feel with the outdoor elements all around you. Magical sunsets or spooky clouds and mist roll in to make the viewing experience even more thrilling. Sound is delivered over a radio channel, so I recommend bringing an external speaker and stand alone radio. The car radio is okay but can be problematic if it keeps shuttling off or the rear speakers are not good. The staff is fun and concessions are average. Bug spray is recommended. I truly enjoy the drive-in experience as a wonderful nostalgic summertime activity. Hopefully drive-ins will never totally disappear.

My girlfriend and I were able to find this location after doing a little research. The price is outstanding. We paid $7 per ticket which gave us a double feature... Starting at 8:30 was "We're the Millers," followed by "Elysium." We were able to listen to the movies by tuning our stereo to 107.9. I think the transmitting volume may have been a little high though, when the movies got loud, the speakers got slightly distorted in the bass. There were many cars for the first showing, but we had plenty of room. Also, each spot is elevated upward for a better viewing angle. They have both male and female rest rooms outside attached to the office. Also, they have full concessions from what I saw, though I did not go in since we made our own popcorn before leaving home. All in all, an outstandingly fun time out with my girlfriend. I would definitely recommend to anyone. A word of advice: Since the movie goes through your car stereo, you will need to start your car occasionally to prevent your battery from dying. Though if it does, the staff is fully prepared to give you a jump.

Oneida Movieplex Hi there, hoping someone sees this…read more I took my three children, two stepchildren, plus their friends to see Minecraft last night (4/4). With tickets and snacks my bill was $177. Not even ten minutes into the movie, the "manager" forced two groups of young kids out of the theater - four of my group and another group, including a little girl celebrating her birthday. The reason? Grown-ass adults complaining that the children were talking and laughing too loudly and too much. Now just to be clear, these weren't parents with children. These were fully grown adults, throwing a hissy fit that children were acting like children IN A CHILDREN'S MOVIE. After they complained once of the children being children, and the manager only told them to quiet down, these same immature adults lied and told the manager the kids were throwing food. And thus, the manager threw out two groups of children based on lies by ADULTS. In the rush and confusion of handling a large group of children and trying to seat them, my husband dropped some of the tickets and we lost them. The manager refused to refund the tickets even though I had just charged $177 approximately ten minutes earlier. Not only did I have to drive a car full of crying children home, but in the rush of being thrown out to appease whining adults in a child's movie, two of my children left their Minecraft plush and swords behind. Your manager REFUSED to allow the kids back into the theater to retrieve their items. From my understanding, the other family called the police and the POLICE WERE REFUSED ENTRY to retrieve their items. So thank you, Oneida Movieplex, for ruining the evening for a group of children who had been looking forward to this for two weeks. I hope your "manager" slept well last night. And to the grown ass adults who complained and LIED about children, I will happily confront you to your face. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Next time, maybe be a damn adult.

Left there & we talked a lot by wanting to try other 3- Space, Tomb, & Espionage. After our dinner & we went back there again... yep, we played other 3!!! We finished all of 4 in one day & it is WORTH OUR MONEY!! Staff is ultimately friendly!!! We continue to talk about them how we can solve & want to beat our scores whenever we visit again. Two petty gripes: Any chance of ever getting coffee service back behind the counter again? ... I hate wrangling with the ornery keurig pods ... And, though I'm afraid this one is even more impossible -- I wish that for those of us walking back to C-town, that someone could persuade the groundskeeping powers-that-be not to chain the external steps in (endless) winter-time ... It's such a much faster & less lung-crushing way of getting back up to the top ... I guess they feel they have to do that though -- just so that if I slip on the ice & sue Uncle Ezra, that they can remind me that I stepped over the dang chains ... Oh well ... In concluding, what with all the multifarious distraction options these days, it'll probably never again be like it was in the "big 80's" -- when Statler would fill up every weekend with frat boys stomping on the floor and shouting "Tastes Great!" in unison, only to hear their coy sorority counterparts respond in coy contralto, "Less Filling!" ... before every picture ... There's not often a film I desperately want to see at Cornell Cinema (most are classic films I…read morecould watch for free on Netflix, for example), but the occasional director's appearance or screening of a film that's just finished its run and thus no longer (or was never) at one of the other theaters in town makes it worthwhile (and given it's on the Cornell campus, it's much more convenient than the Regal out at the mall if you don't have a car). A couple other good reasons: the price is right for Cornell affiliates (tickets are only $5 for grad students) and the space is beautiful - the one-screen cinema is set in a soaring, classic 1920s auditorium covered in stunning murals. In the warmer months, screenings are even held outside. If you happen to be from Boston or are familiar with the Harvard Square area of Cambridge, MA, the CC is roughly Ithaca's equivalent to the Brattle Cinema or the Harvard Film Archive (it's university-managed like the HFA, but looks like and has offerings more along the lines of those at the Brattle).
