I have never seen a bad show at PCS. Just yesterday I saw Hamlet. I had read the story but had…read morenever seen a stage production. It was excellent. In September I saw The Drowsy Chaperone. Likewise, I loved this production as well, having seen it on Broadway and a local university's production. So as you can see they are varied in what they chose to present, catering to a variety of tastes. The cost of the tickets are extremely reasonable. For two Hamlet tickets (1 adult, 1 senior citizen) the price was $37.98. There are not many places one can go to see a quality show for about $20.00. I will be paying more attention to what they are offering and going there on a more regular basis.

I'm amazed at the talent of these young singers especially the actresses playing Elsa and Anna. The child playing Olaf was so funny. My 3 year old daughter loved the show and can't stop singing. I love the size of the theater. Because it's a small theater there aren't any bad seats. Parking is also right across the street and it's free. For $18 to $20 a ticket and free easy parking I much rather come here than deal with seeing a show in NYC or Philly for five times the cost or more. The lights and sound were surprisingly good especially considering the size of the theater and the performers being children. This truly is a gem. I can't wait to see more shows here.

The sets and costumes looked professional. I liked that the cast members were available after the show in a large room off to the side of the theatre for pictures, autographs, etc. We got a signature from the actress who played the cow, one of the better bovine performances I've ever seen. :) The show was about 90 minutes long, including an intermission where you could get water, juice boxes, and cookies. Tickets for this show were $10 each, and there was plenty to keep the parents interested in the show as well. In the front, the building looks like a large Delaware Ave mansion (which it probably was), and behind the house section is a large theatre attached, able to seat about 150 people (guesstimate). The chairs are not attached to the floor, and several of the rear rows are raised up, but its not uncommon to have to perch a smaller child on your lap. All the seating is general admission. The Theatre is located right at the top of the Rte 52 exit off I-95 southbound. A pretty charming experience all around. My kids want to go back to the Winnie the Pooh show in May. A much more rewarding time than a trip to the movies, at about the same price (or less when you consider popcorn and drink prices).

Walking around outside was a delight. The theater sits along a lovely. Creek in such beautiful nature. The building was originally a gristmill built in 1840 & it became a theater in 1923. A gentleman took me to upstairs to show me a space with wonderful room showing off some of Hedgerow's green room displaying old photos of theater and it's actors during performances , piano , wooden furniture designed by Wharton Esherick, a beloved and accomplished American craftsman and a one-time set designer for Hedgerow!! He is very special to this area and if you Google him, you'll see how special is to American Folk art. I am honored to see one of my very very favorite theaters and favorite plays SHIRLEY VALENTINE! 2pm show ! It was absolutely such a good time and wonderful performance ! This used to be in a home in Wilmington up until this year, and while I had wanted to attend in…read moreyears' past, this was the first time I had the opportunity to get a chance to experience the Curley's Haunt. What's most interesting about this haunt is that it also benefits breast cancer research and the cost of entry is extremely reasonable per person for the incredible detail and quality of the haunted house experience that they deliver. I took my daughter Ivy and her friend both of who were completely big talkers and confident that they couldn't be scared by something like a haunted house inside of an old store within a mall. How wrong they were... within fifteen steps of being admitted through the entrance, both were behind me and clasping the back of my hoodie as tight as they possibly could taking little baby steps behind me through the entirety of the haunt. Where this place definitely shines is the small group admittance, the actors dedication to making each person's experience unique, and the effects and care that is put into each area. There is quite a bit of loud noises, strobing, and for effects used, so it is not for everyone, as there are times when it can become very disorienting and chokingly dense with fog vapor. However, I cannot overstate how wonderful the quality of the haunt is compared to the price of admittance. I paid a mere $15 for something that anywhere else would be charged far higher. They do wonderful things here and for a good cause. Get out here now and book tickets before the end of the season and experience it.

The film selections are indie, arthouse, documentaries, and foreign. Nice date night idea too.
