I love the size of the theater. Because it's a small theater there aren't any bad seats. Parking is also right across the street and it's free. For $18 to $20 a ticket and free easy parking I much rather come here than deal with seeing a show in NYC or Philly for five times the cost or more. The lights and sound were surprisingly good especially considering the size of the theater and the performers being children. This truly is a gem. I can't wait to see more shows here.

The sets and costumes looked professional. I liked that the cast members were available after the show in a large room off to the side of the theatre for pictures, autographs, etc. We got a signature from the actress who played the cow, one of the better bovine performances I've ever seen. :) The show was about 90 minutes long, including an intermission where you could get water, juice boxes, and cookies. Tickets for this show were $10 each, and there was plenty to keep the parents interested in the show as well. In the front, the building looks like a large Delaware Ave mansion (which it probably was), and behind the house section is a large theatre attached, able to seat about 150 people (guesstimate). The chairs are not attached to the floor, and several of the rear rows are raised up, but its not uncommon to have to perch a smaller child on your lap. All the seating is general admission. The Theatre is located right at the top of the Rte 52 exit off I-95 southbound. A pretty charming experience all around. My kids want to go back to the Winnie the Pooh show in May. A much more rewarding time than a trip to the movies, at about the same price (or less when you consider popcorn and drink prices).

I have never seen a bad show at PCS. Just yesterday I saw Hamlet. I had read the story but had…read morenever seen a stage production. It was excellent. In September I saw The Drowsy Chaperone. Likewise, I loved this production as well, having seen it on Broadway and a local university's production. So as you can see they are varied in what they chose to present, catering to a variety of tastes. The cost of the tickets are extremely reasonable. For two Hamlet tickets (1 adult, 1 senior citizen) the price was $37.98. There are not many places one can go to see a quality show for about $20.00. I will be paying more attention to what they are offering and going there on a more regular basis.

My friends happen to live just around the corner, and it was lovely for us to pop by, shop, grab some appetizers and salads, listen to some music, and then walk back to their house and enjoy the goods in the peace and quiet of their backyard. Some of the stuff for sale as crafts weren't exactly Greek (when was the last time a herd of elephants and camels hung out in Athens?) but they were fun ethnic souvenirs. Opa!

Anyone who knows Leela James should know - She Slayed The Show!! Outstanding Performance!! The street near the stage was blocked off and had food and beverage vendors. I had cheese and crackers along with water in my cooler, but alcohol was served outside the venue if you desire. What made the experience top notch was the crowd. Everyone was mellow as most jazz festval goers tend to be, but it was especially cool because security was present, not overbearing and everyone had the same goal - have a good time - I made sure I did!! I will definitely keep this in my range for next year. Enjoyable time.

The Brandywine Festival of the Arts is a must for art lovers of all kinds. All over the park…read morevendors are stretched out in tented rows offering jewelry, paintings, carvings, you name it. All of the vendors I've encountered we're welcoming and eager to discuss their craft. One vendor I really enjoyed talking with was David Souza. His wood turnings, a medium I passionately adore, were utterly beautiful. There are some bowls there that I would love to have. For now I scooped up the cutest spinning top that was among an array displayed in all sorts of colors and patterns. The $5.00 admission is good for both days and entry to the zoo. So if you go home and decide you simply can't live without that exquisite hand turned wood bowl with lid well you can go back and get it (note to self). There is a food court were all the food trucks are set up and a large tented seating area or you could sit down by the creek and enjoy the view. The festival also has live music and a kids activity corner. The festival is dog friendly and vendors set out bowls of water in case Fido gets thirsty. Also noteworthy is the fact that they have shuttle buses. I just found this out after coming here three years. As a matter of fact people were boarding one as I was leaving. I don't know why I didn't inquire because there is quite a steep and long hill you MUST travel down to get to the grounds. By the time I scaled the hill back to my car I was a hot, exhausted, sweaty mess but overall an excellent experience.

Being a senior, I love more experiences over chotskies. Yes, rock mushrooms and holloween/holiday decorations are fun, but would rather have more mushroom info. And yes, I splurged on a plush mushroom that sits on a shelf. Mea culpa! The bands were good, the mushroom eating contest was quite entertaining and we lucked out on the weather. The mushroom dishes that were available were delish, but could have had more available. All that being said, it's a great way to enjoy a fall day in a lovely new city. Winner of the eating contest won a $300 prize, bragging rights and a trophy. Parking in peripheral lots was more affordable than in-town parking ($5 as opposed to $20). If you like shopping for stuff and home improvement booths, go and enjoy!

Flimsy cardboard "cans" were too few, too far apart and did not work in the rain, leading to fair goers piling their leftover soup, drinks, etc on top of the traditional cans. Within an hour there were towers of garbage falling onto the street, vendor's displays, and ended up being tracked into stores. Not a good look for Kennett Square! Here's hoping the planners learn from their experience.
