We begin noise training at an early age to a variety of sounds including vacuum, lawn mower, blower, television, kitchen noises, as well as parrot and chicken noises. They also get exposed to other sounds of nature through dog tv videos featuring dogs, squirrels, birds, and other animals as well as other nature shows played on the tv daily in the family room for the enjoyment of our own dogs as well as the pups. House training is started while still in the whelping pen capitalizing on puppy's basic instinct to not soil their sleeping area. Positive reinforcement is used to encourage positive behaviors. Charlene was very accommodating with visits starting at 4 weeks old. I think this truly helped our puppy transition to her new home since she was already comfortable around us. She also did us a favor and kept her an extra 2 weeks (past her 8 week pick up date) since we had a preexisting vacation planned. Charlene provided all of her vet records, a take home basket filled with toys, goodies and even a new puppy what to expect packet.
