The folks at Color Your World are amazing. Started with Jaime going all over the nursery to find and tell me what fruit trees they had over the phone, and we went through a lot of fruit trees. He did it with laughter in his voice that I could hear. He was so happy to help me over the phone the next day I had my niece who lives in their pick out five beautiful fruit trees, huge full of branches. I was able to pay for them over the phone with my credit card. They helped her load them and secure them for the drive to Silver City we will be back this Saturday for more trees. The plants are fine, the experience for the customer is not. There are signs of different kinds posted everywhere telling customers what not to do. I drove from El Paso and needed to use the restroom when I arrived. The first signs I saw said "NO PUBLIC RESTROOM," which I noticed after I had asked am employee who rudely told me the same. I had to leave after a while to find a bathroom down the road. I think we are dealing with an owner who isn't thinking of the customer first. I won't be back. read more

I won't let my most recent experience here affect my affinity for this place. It is my go-to nursery and I really do love it. The employees are so helpful with my questions about house plants. Today though, I took several plants to the register and had a question about one....I asked if it would be best in bright light versus indirect light. I was looking for bright light plants. The employee told me indirect light, "shucks" I said "I want to put it back and grab another". The employee was visibly annoyed. Ugh. Just a missed opportunity to offer great customer service. Like I said, I will continue to shop here in part because of my prior good experiences. read more

Not going to bag on their selection of products nor the quality. This is all about CUSTOMER SERVICE. The cashier was not particularly friendly or helpful. When asked if there was a restroom she flatly said "no"...I am so tired of spending my money in places that don't even provide the basic necessities for the people who keep their doors open. You can try and blame it on Covid or Health and Safety, but it's simply laziness and poor customer care. So plan your trip accordingly and don't hydrate yourself!! read more

This place is my favorite. It's so affordable and the staff is very knowledgeable. Real plants are defiantly cheaper than fake ones and the staff is able to provide you with enough information to manage a plant on your own. I started off with three plants and they told me what fertilizer I needed and how many times to water them. I now have 11 plants and they are all healthy and flourishing. I can now say I'm addicted and love going back and growing more. read more

We love Guzman's Color Your World! Unlike the big box competitors, Guzman's has a talented, plant-loving staff that can answer just about any question you have about their plants. Their selection is excellent, with the majority of plants being those that grow well outdoors in the Las Cruces area, but with many other options for growth in green houses or indoors. This is one of the first places that I have seen carnivorous plants for sale, not the anemic Venus fly traps that sometime turn up at Home Depot, but a large selection of multiple species. This is only one example of the niche plants that you can find here. Whenever I am in doubt as to whether something will thrive in the area, their staff has been right there to give me all of the information I need. Las visit, I noticed that their Oleander has been trimmed to look like a tree (I would estimate it is 15 ft tall). I was so inspired by their idea, that I have begun to trim my Oleanders to achieve the same effect. So what is the trade off for shopping here . . . it is a bit pricier than the big box stores. But that being said, the quality, selection, and knowledge base of the staff more than makes up for the negligible price difference. read more

I came to this nusery not having any experience in growing a garden or even successfully raising any house plants. An expert helped us out for a good 20 -25 minutes in educating us on what will grow best in our climate and how to best design our backyard to fit our lifestyle. They're a bit pricy but since they're so knowledgable, it's worth it because it saves you in research time. They're well organized, they have a large variety...a great resource for landscaping, indoor plants and fountains...check them out... They also have another location on University. Another cool thing: The owner took time to learn to create his own website. An easy task for some...for others, not so easy. It's great to see his success through his determination. It seems that every time I go in for something I find more than I was expecting. I went in today for something to hang outside my front door and found this beautiful verogated red and white geranium.
