I had such a blast renting bikes from this business last weekend. The bikes were well fitting before we got their (submitted rental request) and the very kind and friendly staff member (who's name I am regrettably forgetting) even mounted the bike rack on our car for us!! These guys have been awesome to work with. We went in for a demo bike and they were super nice. They're much more relaxed with their rentals than another shop- we had the ability to rent half days and if we wanted full days we could take it for a full 24 hours. I travel and ride my bicycle all over the country and CBB is in my top two bike shops to visit. The service is top notch. They will throw the bike in a stand and go over it with you and show you what they see immediately as well as ask you questions about how the bicycle is behaving on trail allowing them to get a comphrensive picture of whats going on and your riding style. Not only are they thorough but they are fast. I was riding the trails in Fruita and kept crashing messing parts up or banging things out of adjustment and I never had to wait more than a day. The ride is epic ! Get a group of friends to gather and ride . I have done this ride twice . Kevin and his crew are great ! They know the trails so the 1st morning your ride briefing is spot on and listen to his input on trails to ride from the huts . The food and drinks is good . No complaints . The huts are clean and comfortable. And there is maps of the trails in the area to check out and ride . As far as price goes it is fair and worth it . CBB did it for free, revealing themselves to be a shop more interested in a long term positive customer relationship than a quick buck. These guys are great. I pulled into town on Friday afternoon with a new tire that would not keep the bead seated. They took me in quickly and fixed it, they also replaced 3 more tires and tightened down a hub and grip clamps. They had me going in less than 2 hours and they seamed pretty busy. They never complained about the amount of work I asked them to do with the limited amount of time and amount of Stan's that my bike was bleeding all over their floor. I had my bike tuned up. As I was paying for it, I asked if they could help me get my bike rack on my car (it was in my car). They agreed, and Kevin, the owner, came out to help. It was clear he had no idea how to do it even though it was a rack I had purchased from them earlier. I tried to help because it was clear he was struggling. I saw that the word "upper" was inscribed on the bracket of the strap he had erroneously put on the side of the hatch. I tried to tell him and he wouldn't listen. I asked him to come see (lean over) to see what I saw. He said "I know what you're going to say". That took me aback. I said no, he didn't, and he just argued with me and would not look. Finally he saw what I saw and I told him that was what I had been trying to tell him, but he wouldn't listen. On another point (where the feet of the rack rested on the car) I tried to tell him the rack was not in the right position (it was on a ridge of the hatch, rather than sitting flat). He argued with me about that. I told him "that's where the customer wants it". That must have reminded him of the fact that I was a customer! Then he put it where I wanted it. He was arrogant and disrespectful. I would have preferred a flat "no" to my request for help putting the rack on to being treated that way. I will not go back there. I doubt very much he would have treated a man that way. There are other bike shops in Fruita, and they will get my business from now on (I'm a local). read more

I just got back from a three day trip with CBB with my husband. They offer self-guided mountain bike trips with huts in spectacular and remote locations. They also schlep your bag, fresh food, and gear to each nightly destination. The riding is somewhat technical, but not too hard. I wouldn't recommend this trip unless you are a decent rider who is comfortable navigating in the backcountry. The routes are higher in elevation than fruita, too, so they are perfect for summer months. The huts are stocked with anything and everything you could possibly need from outdoor lounge chairs to Twix bars and organic tea. The fresh food is great with fresh fruits, natural meats, and ice cold, good, beer. Kevin, the owner, manages the rides flawlessly and is a great guy - he drops you at the start of the ride and is available if you have a problem or if you need a route change for whatever reason. The huts sleep up to 8, but it would be cozy. I would say 4 would be the most comfortable. You can tell, from the visitor logs in the huts, that everyone who does the CBB trip has a great time. I'm already planning another CBB adventure, this time with my little boys. read more

Just got back from the 4 day trip. What a blast. I went alone and I wouldn't necessarily recommend this but it's doable. Kevin looks out for his clients. The weather can be an issue but short of altering weather, Kevin does everything possible to make it a fun and challenging time. He did his best to accommodate a low LDL diet which I greatly appreciate. I really can't say enough good things about the trip, the organization, and the support. First class trip. This is a really great bike shop. Super friendly and helpful. Came in for brake pads, they checked it and determined it wasn't pads I needed just to take better care. Proceeded to clean and lightly sand my pads then went out for a test ride to made sure everything was right on. Charged a nominal fee and sent on our way. Next day my buddy had an issue with his forks, we brought it in and they took care of it right away and also gave us a pretty good lesson on the blue and red dials on the forks/shocks. I drove to Fruita from WI with some friends for the annual "Bro Trip" to go mountain biking. As shop guys ourselves we always stop in to a local bike shop to get the local knowledge of what trails to ride, which ones to skip, etc. Tony was super helpful sending us to some great trails as well as giving us some great advice on where to eat and find the best post-ride beer. He also sold us some very helpful maps as well as a CBB tech tee that is really comfortable and was only $20! CCB also offers some trips that look really cool and are reasonably priced. We did the CBB 3-Day Domiguez Trail Hut to Hut trip and it was fabulous! Kevin and Alex did an amazing job of loading each hut with cold beer (our choosing!), good food, and all the bike tools you could need. The huts were clean and comfy. The ride was hard and long with non stop scenic views. Our group was 3 women from San Diego who have varied experience but are all fit (required!). We rented Kevin's Devinci bikes so we didn't have to travel with ours - and we were glad we did. He knows the terrain and knows what you'll need for a bike. I may even buy that bike I liked it so much. I will definitely be back for round 2! read more
