Unfortunately, the project with the owner,Janice Vogt, was plagued by poor practices and unfulfilled promises. ​They removed some established plants without permission and never replaced them. Worse, when they took up my existing flagstone--which had been perfectly stable and safe to walk on for 14 years- to lay a new layer of mulch they proceeded to re lay it directly on top of that loose mulch. When I pointed out how unstable this was, she charged me an extra $2,300 to take it all back up again and pack that mulch properly and put a layer of rock for the flagstone to lay upon. This should have been figured into the original bid. ​Despite the extra fee, the work did not hold up. Now, just less than a year later the stones are shifting, wobbly, and creating severe tripping hazards. As an older homeowner, this is a major safety concern. When I called Janice to come and look at the situation this past month, she did finally agree to come out but then refused to fix it. In the end she used the excuse that she "doesn't normally use the clients material" (something that she'd NEVER mentioned before) and that my flagstone wasn't good. (In the contract itself it says "Colorado Native Landscaping warranties all hardscape materials and 'workmanship' for a period of two (2) years. They cut corners, didn't solve my weed issue, and left me with a hazardous situation in my back yard, which I will have to pay someone else to remedy. Disgusted. Avoid this company. Our email conversation started with making the appointment to meet. Then Janice asked for a survey, so I sent over the plot plan so she could put together a rough plan as she asked for "must haves" which I sent over same day. That was Thursday. So now it is Sunday, we are at the house, waiting. As time passes we discussed how long we are going to wait etc. My wife tells me I should email Janice, but I told her she is not going to see it if she is driving. At about 11:20 I called Janice, went straight to VM. I called a minute or so later to leave a message, it rang a few times and then went to VM, so I left a voice mail to find out if she was still on the way, to call back to let me know, and I left my number. 6 or 7 minutes later, Janice emails me. WTH? Why can't you return my call?! Let me know you are not going to bother to attend a meeting that was scheduled 5 days ago?! This is what I got in return via email, to my phone calls and voice mail: "Sorry for any confusion this morning. I was going to work on the estimate and concept before we met to make sure my print is in line with your budget." Needless to say, Janice, I will not be calling or emailing you again...

No Sprinkler Service for you!…read more I see their trucks around town all the time, so I decided to give Sam's a try. We had a minor sprinkler repair situation. My husband decided to work from home on the day, three days after we made the appointment. They scheduled for 8am. At 9am, the guy texted to say he was running late. He showed up at 10:15 and took a look. Very quickly said some PVC is broken. It would be $500 to repair and take 3-4 hours. We agreed (at first) and he said someone would start at 11:30. After considering, $500 seemed high. They would have to dig an 18" by 18" hole (which my unskilled husband later did in an hour) and replace or glue a $25 pipe. We asked about the timing and price, offering $300. He said he can't do that and had already booked another job anyhow. I suspect Sam's might be more responsive and professional for bigger jobs. It's too bad. We plan to redo the landscaping, hardscaping, and replace the sidewalks and patio this year. Sam's seemed like a good outfit for the bigger job, so we tried this test run. Because of this subpar experience, we'll be hiring someone else.

We have a couple of acres and they weed-whacked about an acre of it a couple of times. They also landscaped our front area - including ripping out the overgrowth of old plants and weeds, planting new plants, adding hardscape rocks, adding edging trim and mulching. To start, they show up daily at 8am with extremely loud gas powered leaf blowers which immediately disrupts the neighborhood at a time when many people are first waking for the day. In addition to the obnoxiously loud noise first thing in the morning, the smell of gas aways finds its way into my apartment. It becomes increasingly frustrating when you see multiple landscapers in the area use electric equipment which is never disruptive and never leaves a smell. This points to the obvious lack of respect this company has for the community. Despite showing up so early everyday, they still find a way to be disruptive throughout most of the day. They may be on your street for an hour starting at 8am, back for another 45mins at 11am then another 30mins at 1:30 so you never know when they will be around to disrupt your day and you can never plan around it. Additionally, the landscapers almost always travel in packs which means two to three people walking down the same street at the same time blowing loud leaf blowers at the same thing, multiple times a day. This is frustrating for those of us who work from home. Personally, I've had to end several work meetings and important calls early because it's too loud to hear anything else. Even with windows closed, the equipment they use is so loud that it's always a distraction. Again, this shows the complete lack of respect toward the neighborhood and the people who reside in it. Your money and time may be better spent having your people cover more ground spread out than collectively working on the same space. Better management here may also help eliminate the inconsistency as well as the need to return to the same spaces multiple times in one day. This company consistently shows zero respect for the community it serves. Unless you like being waken up by loud noise and the smell of gas, I would not recommend. In the attached pic you can see two landscapers both using their leaf blowers on one very confined space at the same time. The building they are servicing spans several blocks but here are the employees working in one small space together, both with their loud equipment. This is normal for these employees.
