My wife and I hired Colorado Nature Design for several projects based on word of mouth recommendations: building a landing on our sloped backyard for our kids' playground, constructing a new curb and rock retaining wall for our driveway, sprucing up our yard (seeding, boulders, and planting shrubs) and fixing our flagstone patio staircase. If you look at the work that was done for me, you would say why don't I rate this business a 5 star? Well, there was a problem. The drainage is not working properly. When I told the owner about the problem, he told me it was my problem and he wanted to charge me over $4000 to maybe correct his problem. This is his problem and he should be able to make suggestions to solve the problem. Too bad Kenny, the owner, does not understand customer service. read more

Kenny came to us as a recommendation from a friend who loved the work he had done with their backyard. We obtained 3 bids, and ultimately chose Colorado Nature Design as our favored proposal. I am so glad we did! Our project was fairly large in scope, adding retaining walls to create a level lawn area in our backyard, boulder and landscaping work and a creative boulder fireplace using fireglass as the filler. Sincerely and humbly, the work Colorado Nature Design did has become the talk of the neighborhood--in a great way! Kenny was the utmost professional and a business owner that still believes in superior customer service! So refreshing. I always felt I knew where we were on the project timeline and while he always sought our opinion as to the direction of the project, ultimately, after we agreed on what we wanted to do, I just let him and his team roll with it. We could not be happier with the final product. It has completely opened up our back lawn area and now we have an amazing addition to our home that our young children can run and play on and we can entertain with. His team worked hard EVERY day they were here. They were patient and tolerant with my 4 and 6 year old as they questioned them throughout the day :). Colorado Nature Design was an incredible partner to work with during our backyard makeover. Kenny and his team are amazing at what they do. We had a plan for a great backyard project including a big flagstone patio, a couple fire pits, hot tub and steps down to our lower backyard. Kenny made that plan into a dream come true! My husband and I decided we were going to invest in a lot of landscaping work for our home. Neither of us had much vision, so we needed help. We also were not keen on spending a fortune, so we wanted to find someone who would work with us. We did a bunch of research and we were so glad to find Colorado Nature Design. Kenny called me quickly after I had inquired about the company on their website. He came over and just listened to husband and me, and walked us through some basic ideas for the areas we wanted landscaped. Kenny asked us questions about budget, practicality, where we'd be spending most of our time, how we'd be using these areas, where our dogs hang out, etc. A few days later, Kenny was ready to walk us through his proposals. He provided to us different options that we could choose from for each area . We could tell he had thought thoroughly about our projects, he took our personal preferences into consideration, and he respected our budget. Not to mention, he had very creative ideas. When we selected our options, he and his crew got to work immediately. They worked quickly, gave us constant updates, were very professional, and did excellent work. Outstanding!!! Kenny and his longtime crew first had to tear down an old retaining wall and made the new one like a fortress. As Kenny said to us, "I'll sleep better at night knowing I made a wall that's going to last." That's the kind of perfectionists Kenny and his team are. Once the wall was in place, his hand-picked flagstone made a pathway leading to a beautiful patio. Sitting in the patio is a roaring gas fireplace. A great sloan stone stair/path leads down to the patio where before is was just a rocky, loose dirt pathway. We had a design in mind but Kenny gave us the pros and cons and then, as a true designer and artisan, suggested we go a slightly different route - so glad we listened to the professional. And these guys work hard...really hard, show up when they're supposed to, are genuinely nice guys, clean up after themselves, and we had zero concerns about leaving the house open to them while we we'd go run errands. We're bringing Kenny and his crew back next year for more work. Could not be happier. Period. read more

Kenny and his crew are fabulous! We moved into our new home in Conifer in July and felt completely overwhelmed by the existing landscaping. We met with Kenny, gave him some ideas of what we'd like our front yard and firepit area to look like and Kenny took it from there. He and his guys transferred our yard into a beautifully landscaped area. They arrived to the job on time, always friendly and did an amazing job!
