Labcorp (we've used five locations) is consistently the worst, quest (we've used three locations) is better but not usually covered by our insurance, and CLS (we've used two locations) is the best. We have never had problems at CLS that are common for Labcorp. Labcorp screws up a lab at least once every other visit - granted my son gets a lot of labs, but they are terrible. CLS has yet to screw up any of his labs and we've been there consistently for a while now. They have been professional, prompt, and communicative. It's almost as good as Children's Hospital main campus (NOT Parker which is Labcorp quality) for a fraction of the cost. Hard to find. Google sent me to the Admin Office on Union. The lab is in the Anthony's complex but not on the side with parking. It is around the back of the building (enter off Alameda & Routt). I spent an hour trying to find the lab. The staff was very proficient once I did. I was surprised the admin staff said that people come to their office all the time, yet they don't correct their address on google.

The nurse was really great though. She got me a room where I could lay down, talked to me, and gave me a breathing exercise to do. It took a try on both arms to get a good site but they got it. She also gave me advice to be super well hydrated and drink electrolytes the day before the blood draw, not just the morning of, which might help others like me too.

Everything is very shiny and comfortable plus there are excellent maps and signage everywhere. I visited Urgent Care for a minor problem. The signs showing where to go were very clear. The woman at the check-in desk was kind, friendly, and helpful. I had to wait only a few moments to see her and she checked me in and collected my co-pay with no wasted motion. The waiting area was large and stocked with very nice furniture. I did have a bit of a wait, but my problem was a relatively low priority. Patients are triaged by the explanation they provide at intake and seen by the urgency of their issue. This seems reasonable to me. Kaiser provides good quality Wi-Fi and I was able to work on my phone while I waited. My wait was interrupted by a visit to an intake room where basic vital statistics were taken. I then returned to the waiting room for a bit. I was called again and taken to a spacious exam room. A friendly PA came by after a short wait. He quickly diagnosed my issue and said a nurse would be by to deal with it. A nice nurse soon appeared and quickly dealt with my issue. The PA then returned to make sure the issue was resolved. He took a few minutes to write up his notes and then closed the visit. I stopped at the intake counter for a moment to check out and all was done. I was impressed with Kaiser's systems and level of organization. Every step of the process ran very efficiently. All of the staffers were friendly, helpful, and concerned with my well-being. I went to the neurology group for a strange condition that my primary care couldn't figure out,…read morewhich didn't follow the normal course of neuropathy. He wanted an evaluation by a qualified neurologist. In my opinion, this group is 100% not that. I went to the St.A's Neurology group about a year ago, and was given a few quick tests by the NP, and told that it's definitely neuropathy. Except...it doesn't present that way. There's dozens of reasons that doesn't make sense, which I've pointed out to them, only to get back replies that amount to, "We know what we're talking about. If we say it's neuropathy, it's neuropathy. We won't look into it further." My doctor has sent multiple messages to them, begging them to do a proper investigation, but they refuse. To date, the entire medical summary is, "Because I say so" with nothing to back it up. So, with a full year of begging them to do the work they were paid for, I asked if I could see the doctor, since I'd only seen the NP, and she utterly refused to even discuss my case. The office told me that to see a doctor, I needed a new referral to start over, which was a little weird, but sure. No big deal. I requested one from my primary care, and they had it within 48hrs. It's an easy hoop to jump through, and I was happy to do it, to get back on track for figuring out my condition. Today, I got the rudest call I think I've ever gotten from a professional group. The neurology scheduler called me to tell me it was wrong of me to put in a referral (which they'd told me to do), and that they will not, under any conditions, EVER allow someone to see the doctor, once they've seen a NP. 2nd opinions are not an option, unless you go somewhere else. I was lectured about how the NP is the expert and the sole person to make all neurological decisions (why have doctors, then?!?). When I tried pleading, because my condition continues to worsen and the NP openly refuses to help, they yelled at me and told me to go somewhere else, because they will NEVER help me. TL;DR: This group seems to be entirely abdicating their role as a medical practice. They refuse to look into problems, refuse to listen to patients, and are borderline abusive to anyone who asks questions. I recommend, based on my experiences, avoiding them at all costs!!!

I was referred to Neurosurgery One Lakewood by my urologist, who was monitoring my post-treatment…read morecare for prostate cancer. The cancer treatments were satisfactory. I am not taking any long-term medications, but I have PSA tests yearly. I'm a 78-year-old male. I saw a PA, Tess Henderson, who recommended the drug Prolia/Denosumab. I never saw an MD, and her recommendation did not account for my osteopenia rather than osteoporosis. The drug is not effective for osteopenia. Some of the side effects, both mild and serious, pose severe health risks. There was no discussion of the risks, especially kidney damage, and I have only one functioning kidney. Ms. Henderson was asked to determine the cost of the drug treatment (a lifetime treatment you cannot stop easily) and to let me know the patient's cost. I have yet to hear anything from Ms. Henderson regarding the co-pay. Blue Cross and Blue Shield initially denied the treatment. Without my consent or knowledge, Ms. Henderson requested a second review. Blue Cross and Blue Shield approved the drug treatment based on information resubmitted. There was no explanation for the change in the drug's approval. I I have tried to meet with the manager at Neurosurgery One. He declined my request without any explanation (no return phone call). I have also tried to obtain information from Blue Cross, but to no avail. Ms. Henderson, in my opinion, is practicing medicine without a license. I firmly believe that Neurosurgery One allows this type of practice. Under no circumstances should anyone become a patient of Neurosurgery One. It's a terrible practice, and no MD will be available when needed. Please don't go there because you may be putting your future health at risk. MDs do not supervise the NPs, allowing NPs to practice medicine without a license. MDs must be required to consult with patients and not abandon their practice of medicine by allowing Nurse Practitioners to make major medical decisions.
