We enjoyed the color sessions so much that we invited Mary Lou to come to our homes to do closet consultations.

Working with Kathryn has completely changed the way I think about fashion, shopping, and personal…read morestyle. I purchased three services: custom color mapping, face and feature analysis, and dress for body type - every single one of which exceeded my expectations. What impressed me the most was how personalized everything was. She didn't simply assign me to a seasonal color palette or follow a generic formula. She carefully analyzed my unique features and created recommendations specifically for me. The color analysis was incredibly eye-opening. Before working with her, I had no idea what my undertone was or which colors truly complemented me. Now I finally understand why certain colors never looked right on me and which ones make me look my best. The face and feature analysis was equally detailed. She took multiple photos and carefully evaluated my features instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. The PDF she provided was incredibly comprehensive, covering flattering glasses, hairstyles, jewelry, necklines, patterns near the face, and even tips on posing for photos based on my facial features. I especially appreciated that she pointed out my strongest features and explained how to highlight them with the right accessories and styling choices. The body type analysis was much more detailed than I expected. Rather than simply assigning me a body type, she considered my individual proportions and created recommendations tailored specifically to me. The PDF included guidance for tops, pants, skirts, shorts, necklines, silhouettes, and many other clothing details, making it easy to understand what enhances my shape and creates the most balanced look. The biggest difference has been the confidence I've gained. Before working with her, I often bought clothes and makeup simply because they were trendy or on sale, without knowing whether they actually suited me. Looking back, I realized that many of those purchases weren't the best fit for my coloring, face shape, or proportions. Since then, I've gradually replaced them with pieces that truly complement me, and the difference has been incredible. One of the most valuable outcomes is that shopping has become so much easier and more enjoyable. Whether I'm shopping in a department store or browsing online, I can quickly eliminate items that don't suit my colors, proportions, or style and focus only on pieces that truly work for me. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by endless options, I shop with confidence and make much better decisions. This experience has genuinely transformed the way I shop and dress. I now have a much clearer understanding of what works for me and why, and I feel far more confident in my choices. If you're looking for personalized styling that goes far beyond generic advice, I highly recommend working with her. The level of detail, care, and customization Kathryn puts into her work is truly exceptional.

The service was advertised as including a fully personalized color map; flattering light and dark neutrals, whites, reds, metals, and eye-enhancing shades; detailed makeup and hair guidance; a digital palette; and personalized notes. As of the time of writing, I have not received those materials. What I received after the appointment was approximately twenty photographs of myself holding groups of fabric swatches. I did not receive a written color profile, personalized notes, a digital palette that I could use for shopping, or the promised makeup and hair recommendations. For a service costing nearly $500, I expected considerably more explanation and practical guidance. I was also uncomfortable throughout the appointment. The interaction did not feel welcoming, and I frequently felt as though my questions or presence were an inconvenience. Parking near the location was also very difficult, which prospective clients may want to plan for. I did not feel confident about many of the colors selected for me. Several of the deep burgundies, muted plums, brownish pinks, and very dark shades looked heavy or unflattering to me. The colors were generally presented in groups, and I did not leave with a clear understanding of which specific shades, neutrals, depths, or saturation levels suited me best. Most disappointing, I left feeling more confused about my coloring rather than more confident. Given the price, the limited information provided, the lack of practical guidance, and my discomfort during the appointment, I cannot recommend this service based on my experience.

I chose to work with Paul because of his online reviews and I'm so glad I did. Even with my high expectations, he exceeded what I'd hoped for at every turn. Paul not only is amazing to spend time with (explaining lots of little tips and tricks along the way that have been useful and stuck with me), he is also very efficient with a thoughtfully designed sequence of meetings (some virtual to align on goals and define my style, some at my house such as the closest audit, and some at the mall where he prepared fitting rooms and made shopping actually enjoyable). The final product: a wardrobe I really look forward to every day, and even a helpful 'look book' of curated outfits (there's something pretty magical about flipping through the pages to pick out something I like and knowing I have all those items in my closet already!) If you have a similar goal, and want someone to make it an easy and delightful process, I highly recommend Paul!

From the initial consultation, I knew that he would challenge me to meet my goals of learning more about my style. Through this process, I learned to choose clothes that would complement my body type, expanded my wardrobe so that it was functional for both work and personal, and had fun during the process. I have received so many compliments on the new pieces that I added. And throughout the whole process, I felt supported and now feel more confident in choosing outfits that match my style. Would definitely recommend chatting with him if you are considering this process!

But Kimberly is an excellent listener and makes you feel at ease while going through the process. She genuinely cares about your style and what you want to achieve. The shopping experience was great. Kimberly had already pre-selected a collection that perfectly captured my preferences and quirks, infused with her expert touch. No more wandering through the racks, overwhelmed by choices. The clothes were quality, within budget, and most importantly, sparked joy. She also gave a lot of tips on how to pair clothes. It's amazing how something so simple can make such a difference. The entire experience with Canvas Styling, thanks to Kimberly's talent and guidance, was truly a gift that keeps on giving. The new wardrobe prompted a well-deserved date night as well :). I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to elevate their wardrobe. You won't regret it.

Even though I actually enjoy cleaning out my closet, it was so helpful to have Alena there to help me decide what to let go of. Having another set of professional eyes made all the difference. I was amazed by how many outfits she created using different combinations of pieces. You could tell she had already envisioned how it would all come together, but seeing her mix and match everything with such skill including accessories like belts, jewelry, and shoes was impressive. That is, until the last time I went to her. This was a few days before my brothers wedding, and I wanted to get my light brown hair bleached (just touch-ups as my ends were already vivid) so I could apply some vivid color for for the wedding. After applying the bleach, she directed me to the drying chair for processing, while she did other stuff. I sat under the hood for almost 30 minutes without her even checking on me, or her being within reasonable earshot to even ask her if my hair was light enough. When she returned, she took me over to the wash area and washed my hair out. Then used a regular, plastic comb to comb out where the beach had been (all over my head). I could hear the hair ripping, but at this point it was too late. She finished combing out my hair and then blowdried it trying her best to smooth my hair out, which worked enough that I didn't notice how broken my hair was until I got home. The pieces framing my face along with other piece were so broken, they were 2-3 inches long and pin straight. I was absolutely devastated. I messaged Elsa and told her that she broke my hair. She did not apologize, she did not take accountability for what she had done, all she did was send me a link to a hair mask from Amazon. This is not the first time she has done this type of re-bleach on my hair. She has been bleaching my hair in various ways since I was a teenager. But it was the last. It was so heartbreaking to know that I was going to have to go to my brothers wedding with broken hair. And she didnt even offer an "Im sorry".
