Some more popular designers I saw were dresses and pieces by Dolce and Gabbana, Burberry, and Miu Miu. I spent more time looking at clothing than accessories but I recommend checking this location. I texted her (due to COVID, still only by appointment) and she replied immediately and I visited that day! I described the event to her, the theme, who I would be meeting, what location it would be, and she totally ran with it and pulled some unique, brand-new couture dresses from Berlin to Tokyo. We were both excited it seemed, and in the end it was so hard to choose! This stuff is quality and comfy! Don't be afraid to tell her what you enjoy and don't enjoy about the dresses, Rana has plenty to choose from and knows what to do with that information. I eventually ended going with a comfy, flattering and elegant black dress that will last me forever. But a close second was a smoky pink feminine asymmetrical dress that made me look like a million dollars. I may be back to splurge on that dress too, as I'm sure I'd wear it plenty and by the 5th or 6th wear I will have already gotten my money's worth! (Rana also gave many tips on how to dress it up or down, style it a bunch of ways... the versatility makes this clothing so much more valuable.) As a…read morepersonal buyer for multiple clients for decades, I've made it a priority to trade, buy and sell at each Crossroad store in the San Francisco Bay Area. After visting the City, East Bay and Southern CA stores, I am still partial and perhaps biased about the new College Avenue store. It is still my favorite Go-To high-end resale store, shopping there when it was across the street over 15-20 years ago. Other reviewers say that the new location has improved, brighter natural lighting with more open visual space and high ceilings for placement of high-end pieces. Their selection is better and consistently checked and maintained. High-end or designer pieces are encased or behind sales counter, allowing more room to move with better access to see, touch and try-on clothing. The dressing rooms are clean, well lit and accessible. The holding area for sellers waiting to sell might get cramped on a weekend and could use more staging or shelf area. It's nice to shop while you wait and not have to sit and watch your bags. Good training and the way its staff treats each customer makes all the difference. Long-time management, Jason, Dikki, Nola Mei, Emily and Diana are stellar and hire and train new employees with a discerning inclusive selection process of open-minded, friendly, and respectful staff. A huge shout out to Mack, Cairo, Rachel and Brooklyne and do excuse me if I've forgotten anyone. When asked if they enjoy working at Crossroads, they had positive attitudes and responses. Their buyers curate pieces carefully, and choose on what will sell for the season and location. They treat their customers with respect and are candid about their selections. I no longer feel slighted if they don't take an expensive item I thought would sell. My favorite brands traded and bought here are Vince, James Perse, APC, Armani, ATM, Theory, Patagonia, Lululemon, Rag and Bone, Acne, Eileen Fisher, A Piece Apart, Levis and more. The men's selections have improved and increased offering multiple top brands. I've bought Marni, Coach, Gavriel Mansur, YSL, and Longchamp purses and backpacks, along with unisex ArcTeryx, Patagonia and Northface backpacks and totes. Their shoes and boots like Prada, Aquatalia, Adidas, Todd's, Pedro Garcia etc., are great and one can still consign top shelf designer pieces. The trendy marks, Madewell, Frame, L'Agence, AGolde, Levis, Dickies and unique streetwear brands are abundant and offer affordable, high-end sunglasses, wallets and jewelry. Buying, selling or trading gently-used, pre-loved pieces that someone bought retail at 300-400% markup, some brand new with tags still attached - and you may just find your hidden gem here. One last note: No one paid me for this review and it is not A.I. rendered or generated.

I ordered two Kickee Pants fitted sheets that arrived rolled in an envelope, smelling like mildew and stiff to the touch. The owner's response was that they disclose the no-packaging policy on their website ... fair, but that doesn't explain mildew. And it's worth noting that shipping without packaging saves the store money, not the customer. When I asked for a prepaid return label given the condition, I was told that's never their policy. When I pushed back, the woman replied screenshots attached, that my "life is laughably small" if I consider $100 a premium purchase and that I "wasn't worth the time." I don't know who thinks it's acceptable in this economy to say that to a customer spending $100 on toddler sheets. But apparently Denise doesn't need your money, because $100 means nothing to her. Spend your money somewhere that treats you like a person.

I discovered this thrift shop by accident when I found a Kate Spade mini tote bag from their shop…read moreon Etsy. I haven't been to the physical location in Oakland but would like to one day. They did a great job packing and quickly shipping the tote bag. The purchase was kind of funny for a couple reasons. One, I thought it was a vintage bag because I didn't know you could resell newer items on Etsy that are not handmade. It looked vintage to me, so I didn't question it, but it turned out the bag is from a few years ago. No big deal. Second, I didn't pay attention to the bag's measurements or the word "mini" in the title. I had to laugh when I took it out of the box. It's so tiny. It looks like it will maybe fit my phone, wallet, keys, and that's about it. I was expecting it to be much bigger, but that's totally my fault for not paying attention. The tote bag is in excellent new condition with the tag still attached. It also came with a detachable long strap. I'm not sure what I will do with it because its teeny size feels too small for me, but it's an awfully cute bag.
