I have been dealing with this nightmare for 1 1/2 years now. I hired Two Day to paint my newly…read morepurchased house in Fall of 2024. They sent clueless subcontractors who spoke no English, and caused extensive damage to my home. Two Day has refused many requests to fix anything unless I pay them in full first - leaving my new home in horrible shape all this time. They used a wood stain(NOT rated for metal, per the MDS) on all the metal downspouts, gutters, and patio door causing immediate and extensive bubbling/peeling of the paint. A proper fix would require everything to be completely striped and redone with a properly rated product, and the labor cost of doing so would be enormous. No other contractors I talked to wanted to touch it and recommended full replacement. My quoted replacement costs for the damaged items is just shy of $25,000! Two Day is now trying to sue me for full payment plus ridiculous fees and interest, while shirking any and all responsibility. It is due to a small clause in the contract that states "All disputes will go through NARI mediation and arbitration" that they have avoided taking any responsibility thus far. What the contract doesn't say, is that going through NARI(National Association Remodeling Industry), which Two Day is a member of, requires a $2000 non-refundable upfront fee! There is no way I was going to hand over an additional $2000 to their questionably 'unbiased' member organization just to get them to fix their mistakes and satisfy the original contract. As I refused to pay the $2000, Two Day and NARI conducted some kind of kangaroo arbitration hearing without me present, refusing to allow any of my evidence of their negligence and damage. The arbitrator only heard Two Day's lies and omissions and ruled in their favor. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Stay FAR away from Two Day Painting, and for that matter anyone whose contract demands that disputes must go through NARI's $2000 Clown Court. ------------------------- Re: Garret's response on April 8th I've never worked with you Garret on this matter. You haven't been out to my house to see the results. But I think the photos paint a pretty clear picture for everyone. The fact that you can't refute any of my points is also very telling for all. Despite the weaselly way you try to reword things and frame them in your favor, it's all essentially just lies by omission. Because you know full well: 1) You used a wood-only stain on the metal parts of my house against manufacturer specifications. Your negligence here is clearly documented. 2) All of your 'generous offers' were contingent on you getting paid in full first. As if I am foolish enough to give up all my leverage and just trust a company that has already demonstrated extreme negligence and damaged my property. 3) I absolutely did NOT ever refuse to participate in the mediation or present evidence. I refused to pay a surprise $2000 non-refundable fee to NARI that was never disclosed in your contract(you REALLY should!) - and because of that I WAS BARRED from showing up and presenting any of my extensive evidence. Why would someone throw away another $2000? When the best possible outcome would be NARI forcing you to send the same terrible workers of questionable legal status back out and hoping for a better outcome this time. Your MO is clear. Promise anything verbally - do everything you can to avoid it being documented in writing. Send the cheapest bargain basement subcontractors to do a rushed job. Then use your warranty to hold over dissatisfied customers heads so they don't complain or leave you bad reviews - because they already paid you in full and they are just hoping you will show some shred of decency and professionalism and maybe fix some things. If you had any at all, you would understand that it is unethical to negligently damage someones house using improper products for the material getting painted and then demand full payment before you will even attempt to fix it. You would understand that it is unethical to just ignore multiple items that were promised in the contract and in writing that objectively and admittedly went unfulfilled - and then demand full payment. As far as me "honoring the court's decision" - you know full well no such decision has been made because the matter has yet to see a courtroom. NARI's one-sided $2000 pay-to-play arbitration hearing is not court. I hope you can reflect on this and do the right thing Garret. I'll offer you the benefit of the doubt since it's possible you were not provided full information by Eric Rauterberg. But if not, let me be clear: You are not going to get away with this

Michael was extremely attentive, quick to take the project on, paid very close attention to detail, and made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. The overall professionalism and communication from him, and the team members he brought on, was very appreciated. We were kind of in a rush to get our basement renovations rolling, so as soon as we finished the framing and insulating ourselves, we inquired with Patch Boys to come in for a full drywall install and finish. Within a day or two Michael came by to assess the entire layout, inquire about details, and discuss what the process would look like. We heard back from him a few days later with a very well laid-out quote that included descriptions of each step/phase. He answered my additional questions and we were happy with the pricing, so as soon as we paid the deposit they set up a date to begin. From start to finish it was just about two weeks for the ~1500 sq/ft project. The team was very thoughtful about any mess coming in and out of our home, always sure to properly cover and prepare everything. This job is quite the mess, especially when it came to the heavy amount of sanding required for the smooth texture towards the end. It was great to see their care in the clean up. (Note however, that this dust really travels around so you'll likely have to do some additional cleaning of your own in other areas of the home, as we did). Even when it came to the end of the project, there were minor tweaks and changes that Michael thought were needed to really perfect everything, and we definitely appreciated that attention to detail & willingness to correct what was needed. Which are all process decisions that they need to revisit, because it likely costs them business if they would do it right. Culvers will not take your job unless it "eats up a full day". Meaning their slots are day slots. I get it - they need to pay people. The way you do that: have HALF-day slots and charge for that. Because you see...Josh himself said, quote, "you'd end up paying double". Which means that if they were to do half-day slots, it would be the viable price that he thinks it should have been...but because they refuse to do that, they basically overcharge you for work. The key with them is that they don't care for any small jobs. Solomon C indicated some trim painting, which I consider a small job, so whatever they've changed is a recent development, likely. Brenda O indicated an issue with coats of paint - everyone with competency knows that a single layer of paint was not going to be sufficient for anything. Conversations with Josh revealed a minimal understanding about color blending, and it's possible I dodged a bullet. Either way, I won't use, consider using or refer them until/unless they're willing to rethink their business model to better accommodate ALL customers without significantly sacrificing profits.

Exterior painting does not come cheap, especially because our house is two stories, and the roof is definitely steep in several areas. Some smaller, highly rated painting companies outright declined to do an estimate as it was late in the season (September) when I started getting quotes, and our house was just too much of a challenge. Fortunately, Culver's was prompt with a response to come out and review the proposed job. They provided an estimate, which was not inclusive of the paint which we had to provide. When compared to the subsequent quotes I received, Culver's came out the most competitive, and I chose to go with them, and I am glad I did. Culver's was able to start the job a couple weeks later and they were able to complete the job in two days. I reviewed all the areas that needed to be painted with them, and the crew was professional and communicative. There was an area I forgot to point out during the estimate. I asked the crew if they would be able to include that (a couple small areas on the ground floor), and they did at no extra charge. They did thorough and excellent work, and I was very pleased with the final product. Culver's is definitely a great choice for painting jobs. They will be at the top of my list should any other painting needs arise!

I asked John if he could fix it and he said "NO" the top was just too badly installed. So, I went ahead and had John get me a new top and he did a wonder job of installing it. See photo. John has been doing this for many years. He is a senior gentleman and tells it like he sees it. His work is excellent; I would high recommend him it you need any upholstery work done.
