Dillion was the second installer that we talked to and we were immediately impressed with him. He was very personable and very knowledgeable of his craft. He provided an estimate with a detailed explanation of the scope of work within 2 days after our first meeting. We chose Heartwood Custom Floors over the larger established and well known competitor that we first talked to. The flooring that we needed (ash and cherry) was a special order and was delivered within the timeline that Dillion had given us and the installation began on the day he scheduled. We were told by Dillion that his brother Eric would be doing the install and just like with Dillion we were immediately impressed with Eric. Our flooring needed to installed on a diagonal to coordinate with the rest of the 40 year old flooring in our house and it needed to be done within a cherry wood border. Diagonal install is more tedious and time consuming. Eric got right to work on the project and after many hours of hard work the new wood was perfectly installed. Eric was conscientious about the color of new wood looking as good as could be with the surrounding older floor and showed us 6 different stain possibilities, one of which was custom blended and was just right. Eric also refurbished a cherry border that was in our dining room without having to redo the rest of the floor in there. Our project was completely done within the timeline provided to us. We couldn't be happier with the final results. We would not hesitate to use Heartwood Custom Flooring again and highly recommend them.

When we were looking to get the floors done we received a few quotes for the work. Blake came out to give us an estimate and was very thorough. He noticed a few items we would need to repair/address that the other companies did not look for. Strait Edge's pricing is the perfect balance between quality and value. We had some repairs which required that were move intensive than we originally anticipated. Blake and his team took care of us and you cannot tell the repair was needed. Despite the repairs being more involved than originally anticipated the work was still completed on time. With the additional repairs the pricing needed to be adjusted to account for the extra work. He was upfront about the additional costs, they were very fair, and ended up being lower than I had anticipated. I will absolutely be reaching out to Blake and his team when we need additional flooring work done.

I eventually removed all the carpeting and tack strips myself and disposed of it. I bought the new flooring from Floor and Decor and delivered it to our home. I did negotiate a price that was acceptable and scheduled the installation. The day for the install came but no workers showed up. I called mid day to find out what was going on and was told the worker had a family emergency and was gone for the day. He would be back tomorrow and start my job. (Why didn't I get a call to tell me he wasn't coming?) The second day came and he was late arriving, then had to leave to take a tool to another job. At the end of the day he had to leave early for an appointment. Day three came and he showed up at 6:20am to start working without telling us he would be here that early. They started work and made so much noise that I received complaints from my neighbors (I live in a multi family condo building). That day he stayed here until 8:00pm to get the job done because the next day the boss had him scheduled for another job. Our job wasn't finished yet. The worker told me to call the boss and get the completion scheduled. I called, I texted, I tried e mail and got no response for days. When I finally reached him, a discussion was had about the job and how "Happy" I was. I told him about some defects and he argued with me that was my fault for buying the products from Floor and Decor. He wanted to argue about everything and was very rude on the phone. Eventually the workers came back to finish the job but that was three weeks later and it took them another 2-1/2 days to finish. I spoke to the workers about the boss' attitude and I won't post what they had to say about him, so you can figure out it wasn't a compliment. I will not recommend doing business with Straight Edge Flooring. We do have problems with the installation in the fact that they didn't follow the manufacturer instructions and a couple areas were damaged by their tools. But according to the Boss, that is my problem for buying items from Floor and Decor. The problem is they installed the flooring without the necessary expansion gap at the ends, Were not careful with their tools and gouged and scratched the flooring, and the boss is less than a nice guy to deal with. In my opinion, this is another business that won't be in business very long.

I was undecided between FCI and a friend's family member's company. Matt preserved. Matt worked with me to find a flooring that was in stock. My first choice is back ordered. I recently bought house and wanted floors done before I moved. He and his crew worked very hard, and came back on the weekend to finish due to power outage of several days, so the floors would be done for Monday move. The old saying of you get what you pay for...FCI was more expensive, but in the end it was TOTALLY worth it. The customer service alone was worth the extra money! Matt went out of his way to help me move a few heavy boxes the movers put in front of sink! The roofer, or cleaner put the "safety/anti burglar " dowel in sliding door wrong, and it was jammed. The product itself is great, and they have so many options based on your type of project. We've used them for carpet, hardwood, and LVP needs. Most recently, we had our basement refinished, and Joe was wonderful and easy to work with, per usual. Since that install, the carpet has held up so well. And thats saying a lot seeing as we have a bunch of kiddos down most days! However, during recent floods in the area, part of our carpet was effected. Fortunately, my husband and I were able to pull it up and air it all out - but that of course left it no longer secure. Let me tell ya, Carpet Mill Outlet is so reliable. We not long moved into a new house, and in typical fashion jumped right into renovating. Within the first week we took out a pantry and partial wall leading to unfinished floors being exposed. Found out this company was who put in the lovey hardwood in the entire house prior to us moving in, so I figured they'd be the best to contact for repairs. Paul got back to me within a day, came by to view the space a day later (take measurements, asses, etc), and within that same week he had his team of guys out to do the repairs. It took roughly seven hours of work on their part, which was understandably loud and a mess during the process. By the time they left however, the place was spick-and-span, and the floors looked as good as new. We were pre-warned that they might not have been able to get the stain perfectly matched (i.e. flowing unnoticeably with the original flooring), but they sure as heck did it! You cannot even tell there was ever repairing done. So appreciative of the speediness and impressed with the seamless work done. Will no doubt call them again when we're in the middle of our next home project ;)

I had gotten the table used, at a good price and it was finally time to try to get the finish back. I did my homework reading reviews and asking others for recommendations for a furniture refinisher. The name that kept coming up was Greg's Refinishing. So I called. Greg is great to work with, he worked around my schedule to find a time to come and look at the table. He gave me a reasonable price for the process he explained would be needed for the table. Hearing that he and another employee would come to my home to pick up the table , sealed the deal for me to trust him with this job. They picked up the table, after sanding it down I was asked to come and look at it before Tom started putting the finishing coats on it. I appreciated be asked to do that. The table is absolutely beautiful! I am so grateful for the care put into my table, the easy communication with Greg and the customer service of he and his team. I am very pleased. I even had Greg's upholsterer redo the cushions on my 4 chairs. I had the fabric and decided I could recover them myself. However, after taking one cushion off, pulling out what seemed like 50 tacks and dealing with crumbling old foam, I gave in. He did a beautiful job and it was well worth having the cushions professionally done. I am very pleased with Greg's Refinishing and will definitely recommend them to others. Thanks!
