My husband and I dined here for dinner on Tuesday, 1/5/26. The place was EMPTY! We were reluctant to stay and order but went ahead. The service was OK. I ordered the Strawberry Pecan Salad (w/o the strawberries) with Grilled Chicken. My husband had the Chicken Fried Steak. Our meals were pretty good! Unfortunately, the Skillet Cookie was a HUGE disappointment! The assumption is that if it's a "skillet" cookie - it will come out sizzling/hot. NOT! The meals are good, especially the steaks. Good quality filets! It's my favorite steakhouse to eat at . We prefer bar area to eat at due to the bartender Whitney is awesome. Bad: Steak (6oz) was grizzly. Outback and Texas Roadhouse do a better job on their small steaks. (Take a lesson from them.) Best: Brandi waited on us and could not have done a better job. On our way through town on a trip. We placed a curbside order at around 4pm on a Tuesday. Unfortunately for us it was on the same day as Beryl bore down on town. Despite the weather, the food is prepared on time, all the proteins tasted great and the macaroni and cheese was awesome! We were missing some of the toppings for baked potatoes, and no ketchup was included in the bag or any other condiments for the burger or chicken sandwich. I think tossing some stuff in the bag would have been a nice touch because there was no place when placing the online order to add condiments that I could see. The one hiccup we had was that apparently they had run out of the cups for the kids meals, and came out without one. She asked if we wanted the drink, of course I did since we paid for it, and it took about 5 minutes for her to come out with the kids drink in a (I think) side item container without a proper lid.. read more

Our food was 45 minutes getting to us and a steak that should have had a pink center was as hard as leather, no seasoning and not eatable. A stellar location of a great chain! In the last ~year, I've spent nearly a month's worth of nights in Sikeston. The local Colton's location has been one of my preferred eateries during this time. I've experienced both dine-in and curbside service. My 'usual' is the Del Rio Ribeye, paired with a house salad and another nearly random side, tonight a deliciously thick and creamy loaded potato soup. Across at least six visits, the food quality has been consistent and appetizing. QC has been top-notch, and all my food has been exactly as I'd ordered it. The Colton's chain in general has been the best at consistent steak temperature across visits for me. I like a proper rare, and they deliver! Inside, my colleagues and I were seated at a distance from other diners, and served quality food along with an abundant selection of local, domestic, and import beers with a very friendly attitude. We were checked on promptly, with a frequency that says "caring" rather than "bored". Curbside, I've received accurate orders, great food, and service with (I'm only assuming, because their mask was in the way) a smile and a sense of pride and gratitude. I have yet to find a bad Colton's, and the Sikeston location is no exception! read more

03/13/23 The atmosphere was awesome and our waitress was amazing and sweet. But, the manager on the other hand, she needs to be fired. I had sent our steaks back with my waitress because it was rare, and got it back and not only was it not medium rare, but my plate was switched with my dates, and his fries(on his original plate which now had my steak on it) were not new but the original cold fries that we had gotten originally. This time, I got the manager. The manager comes, looks at our plates, and after i explained we would like new steaks and new fries, all she says is, "yeah we didn't know what plates the steaks went on." Didn't offer to take them back or remake them-nothing. And so I asked again if she could take them, and she very obviously, reluctantly, did. We get our steaks for a third time, and by this point my date and I are ready to leave, and so we ask for them in to-go boxes. After getting them, we ask the waitress if we could get the steaks taken off our receipts as was customary after waiting an hour and a half and having sent it back numerous times, and she says, "of course I can do that, no problem!" She comes back and says the manager refused to knock off the steaks because wE WeRe GeTtInG tHeM tO Go?? Ridiculous. So we just said fine, paid for it, and left. This is hit or miss. My friends sirloin was fantastic but my soup was cold. We had to wait 10 minutes for silverware after we asked the waitress for it. Their own dressing wasn't good but the strawberry salad was great. Rolls were real good but had to dip them in the butter since no silverware. All and all, I'd give it a second shot. read more

Tonight was my worst experience at any restaurant. It didn't have anything to do with the servers or the food. It was the general manager. The unprofessionalism from tonight just haunts me. I'm left feeling sorry for the staff that has to work there. The general manager made a public scene by scolding a staff member within hearing and sight of the customers. He used language that should not have been used in his position. I have been to this Colton's 3 times in the last 4 evenings with no complaints. The last times I had been through, the staff had always been happy and inviting. I did not feel that way tonight. The food at this place is horrible literally the worst quality food In the area. The steaks are bottom of the barrel on quality for somewhere that promotes their steaks that's a major red flag. The steaks are grizzley and tough and seem like they are cooked in an oven on low heat. The service is awful as well can't get refills can't get the orders right and takes a very long time to get food. We asked repeatedly for refills and did not get them. Took almost 2 hours to get our food and still was missing things all while the workers walk around on their phones. Our server was freaking out every time she came to our table and kept saying how busy they have been when there wasn't hardly anybody in the whole place. We walked to the bar to try and get a drink since we couldn't get refills from our server and was refused service and told to put in an order with our server that they "wasn't doing that". Not so much the case in this thriving Metropolis in my experience. COLTON'S however most certainly has it together. I've fallen into a pattern of doing carry out dinner there about 3 times a week and they never disappoint.
