I thought the side dishes stole the show for me especially the rolls, fried okra and black eyed peas were some of the best I've ever had. Now I'll want to go back whenever I'm passing through that part of southeast Missouri. It's a really cool looking restaurant inside and out with lots of memorabilia on the walls especially the license plate plates. I had the chicken fried steak that came with mashed potatoes right on top and white gravy and it was very savory and good. For the 2 sides I ordered green beans and white beans. It was a heavy meal, but I managed to put away almost all of it along with scoops of extra okra, fried potatoes, tomatoes and pasta in a side dish together, and black eyed peas. I could only manage to eat two rolls and had one where they put a helping of sorghum syrup which I rarely ever see anymore. I grew up on this very kind of food with my southern parents cooking so this place really hit the spot.
