I think we've discovered a real gem in Sikeston, Missouri. Just passing thru town, my wife and I tried Jeremiah's for a Thursday evening dinner. We throughly enjoyed it. The place has sort of a speakeasy persona from the outside, with the interior boasting a premium bar area and a well appointed dining room with a grand piano. The ambiance is of a decidedly upscale, yet warmly casual, elegance. The menu features steaks, salads and appetizers, along with a focused array of seafood and Italian favorites. We enjoyed an old fashioned and a quality bourbon from the bar, followed by manicotti for my wife and an excellent Toto Mare for me. Both were warmly zesty in the best tradition. Entrees we're generously portioned and well presented. Accompanying side salads were also very good. Prices were moderate. We didn't have room for desserts, but the chocolate lava cake and cheese cake sounded great. We're pleased to recommend Jeremiah's and will return when next in the area. read more

Really great spot for a steak dinner on a business trip. I enjoyed the angus strip steak with the baked potato & side salad. The bar is large but the tableclothed fine dining areas were more inviting to me. My steak was prepared exactly to my liking (Med-Rare) on their charcoal grill in the kitchen. Great food! By far, the worst food we have ever had! The chicken was dryer than cardboard! Salmon was absolutely disgusting. There was a hair in the salad. Did I mention a hair in the salad??? How are there any positive reviews for this place? I wish we could report this place but the town is so small and sketchy that they probably pay off the health department to overlook violations. Great location and great restaurant. It does have a bar if you like that. They have outdoor seating also. The service was perfect, the servers take good care of you. I had no wants or waits. I ordered the New Orleans Cajun Ribeye, house salad, baked potato, and the stuffed mushrooms as a appetizer. The mushrooms were fantastic!! I could have eaten 100 of them. Very highly recommended. The salad was very good and the potato was good. The steak was a little undercooked...I like medium....it was medium rare at best. The flavor was a little lacking also. No real great Cajun flavor. It was ok...I had to add A-1. So if you are a steak eater then you know what that means. The regular steaks may be better. The bill was average for the meal. Stopped in for drinks on a Friday. Not too busy and not too quiet. Atmosphere is pleasant and bar staff was very professional and quick.

Horrible service! Over priced drinks, their "special" drink they charged extra for without telling me. Had to wait a long time to get our drinks and it was dead. The chicken breast was extremely small, just slightly bigger than a chicken tender. Will never be back again. And they automatically added a 20% on a 6 person group that didn't get good service. I was super excited to have a delicious steak dinner. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. I had the NY Strip, seasoning was ok, the loaded baked potato was good. I had the filet with crabmeat and bearnaise sauce with asparagus, baked potato, and salad with ranch. All was excellent. My son had the blackened chicken salad, and other kids shared a ribeye and they thought it was juicy. Stuffed mushrooms were delicious! I ordered the Cajun Ribeye and it was tough, too tough to eat. I ordered it medium. I sent it back after a few bites and they still charged me. The black beans and rice was terrible. I recommend the Cajun Ribeye from Ruby Tuesday up the road. It is very disappointing that what could be a good Restraunt was ruined by bad service. The only reason I gave them two stars was the lobster bisque was good. I do not give very many reviews but feel it is necessary for this location. read more

A large group of friends and I decided to check out Jermimiah's during Rodeo Weekend. (A very busy weekend for Sikeston) we did not have a reservation and decided to find somewhere for all of us to eat. Upon walking into the restaurant we asked who I assume was the owner if he could handle our large group. He hesitated but said he could accommodate us as long as we didn't expect to all sit at the same table. We agreed, sat at 3 different tables and ordered our drinks. The wait staff was very kind and we were all very patient in waiting to order. After 20 minutes or so, we all were able to order and our drinks were brought out in a timely manner. As our food started to come out, some of us received our food in no time while others had still been missing their appetizers. We continued to wait, ordered a couple more drinks and continued conversation with our tables. After waiting an hour now, we started to ask the waitress how much longer things would be. She apologized, said they were working on it and it would hopefully come out shortly. After waiting nearly two hours now, some of our tables have completely eaten while others had still not received even their appetizers, salads, or meal. At this point we were running late to the rodeo so apologized to the waitress but told her we were unable to wait any longer and would just like our checks for the drinks and the meals that did actually come. (Which was a total of about 6 meals, when there was 15 of us in total.) we were all very understanding as we were aware it is such a busy weekend. The owner then came over and stated we "could not do that to him" and it would be out in 5 mins. We waited a few mins longer and then again alerted the waitress we really had to go. At this point the owner was extremely mad, rude, and disrespectful. After approaching our table again he stated "I told you we couldn't accommodate all of you when you came in. We are NOT fast food." ....after being patient for 2 hours I felt that was an extremely inappropriate response and horrible way to handle the situation. He also never stated when we arrived that he could not handle our volume of guests. We would have been happy to take our business elsewhere if we had known 15 people was too many to accommodate at that time. The owner appeared extremely rude to not only us but his wait staff as well, including our waitress who was in tears by the time we paid for our meals and left. She apologized profusely and even told us to not worry about tipping her because she understood our frustration. Our group made sure to leave the waitress a generous tip as we all felt bad that she had to deal with such a busy weekend with hardly any other waitresses present and such a rude boss. I hope she finds a better place of employment and the owner learns how to run a business/speak to guests in a more acceptable manner when situations arise. None of our friends will be recommending this place to anyone in the future. read more

Arrived just as they were opening on a Saturday at 5pm. We (party of 4 adults and 2 children) were the first to be seated. The waitress was very sweet and accommodating. There were 3 salmons, a New York strip, and chicken fingers. You could tell the kitchen knew what they were doing. All the dishes were very good. Beer and drinks were served quickly and cold. We did have to wait a little while longer than we expected for our meals for the charcoal to come to temperature, but we weren't in a rush and we were glad to have our steaks and fish grilled over charcoal. read more

I absolutely enjoy and recommend Jeremiah's to anyone. I'm from out of town but work here during the week and being from a St. Louis area I am use to a larger selection of dining choices and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, their Steak Bordelaise ( medium rare, which was cooked perfectly) rivals any steakhouse I've had. Their other food selections are more than accommodating for anyone's diet and the service of course was above par as anyone would expect heading south but the bartenders and waitresses go above and beyond but what I loved the most was the cook came out and made sure my meal had been prepared the way I want. I use to love to go here, unfortunately it is just a dive bar now. They try to serve food that they cannot make properly.
