Amazing dentist! I used to live in Hillman City and go to a dentist in Renton. That other dental office changed management and suddenly was recommending several treatments and they were very intense about it. I decided to get a second opinion and was so glad I did. It turns out that I didn't need any fillings. I eventually moved to West Seattle and continued coming here just because they always did such a great job! The appointments were scheduled to be quick and efficient, but not rushed. Also, everyone was just so friendly and knowledgable. I unfortunately moved out of state, and just went to a new dentist here. Comparing experiences led me to want to give this review. I wish all dental offices were as great as this one! The best dentist I've had and I've had a lot of dentists! I always seem to leave here happy, maybe because of the little goodie bag they give me with the floss and bamboo toothbrush (comes in handy when I travel!) Or possibly because I've had no teeth issues in the last few years. Meghan has an amazing bedside manner and seems to remember me every time I go in. She either has an amazing memory, or they take notes on our conversations. Either way she's so warm and friendly it's really a joy to visit - which is something I can't believe I'm saying about a dentist. As well as Meghan, I've had two different dental hygienists since I started to visit. Both have been great and seem to exude kindness. Everybody at this place is so damn nice! Columbia City Dental used to be my local dentist, I've since moved halfway across the city. I still make the drive as I don't think I could find a better place to go. read more

Please look at the dates on the other reviews (they aren't recent). Dr. Megan Crawford is a wonderful provider and I've had a several years of thinking I had found an dental home that was considerate and caring. Unfortunately, over the past year or so, a front-of-the-house issue has metastasized that consists of an extreme authoritarian attitude towards patients that is manifests as condescension, presumption of bad behavior (non-payment, no-show, etc..), and insinuated threats for presumed bad behavior. FWIW - I've never had a late payment, never not-shown for an appointment, and have always been accommodating for whatever may arise. This manifest attitude is (as one might expect) coupled with incompetency with regards to billing mistakes, misunderstanding regarding HIPAA, repeated failure to provide email receipts, etc... I have absolutely zero insight as to what Megan's relationship is to this front-of-house issue, but honestly it would be a tedious waste of my time to entertain this question. Personally, I don't like to shop in stores that treat all customers as potential shop-lifters. For this reason, I'll be looking for another dental office. read more

I've been a patient here for 2.5 years and truly can't say enough good things about Dr. Crawford and her wonderful staff. I've had some pretty nightmarish experiences with pushy, painful, sketchy dentists in the Seattle area, but Dr. Crawford is the absolute opposite; she is so kind, gentle, thorough, and honest. My cleanings are always super fast, absolutely painless, and really effective, and the hygienists are all incredibly friendly and professional. No one here will try to sell you on unnecessary dental work, no one will make you feel bad for falling off your flossing routine - just really nice people who are great at their jobs. This is definitely by far the most pleasant dental experience I've ever had. Beautiful, thoughtful office space. They give you glasses so you're nor uncomfortable visually during the exam. They clearly pay attention the little details! My hygienist Pylson (sorry if it's incorrect spelling) was informative throughout my cleaning. Gave me specific feedback on my brushing patterns. Both he and the dentist Megan addressed all my concerns regarding my oral care and thoroughly reviewed all my X-rays with me. Prices were VERY fair. I called around several places and this place was reasonable compared to other quotes I have received. So happy to have this gem in my neighborhood. Columbia City Dental are they best! Their staff are always the most professional, kind and courteous people who take their jobs as health care professionals seriously. They will do extra the extra tasks that are not only are helpful and for your comfort but to make assure you that you are healthy. For example Dr. Meghan will examine your mouth for cancer polyps, however, it is the way that she explains what she is doing during my exams that gives me a sense of her skill level and that I can trust her as my dental health care professional. Her staff are the same way, too. It might be added that the customer and billing staff have always been stilted, self-absorbed, and even a little rude however I really think that is only a characteristic of medical office staff who are either too officious, too nice, or too lackadaisical and Dr. Meghan's choicesup to this point in time. After years of bad dental experiences and an already very expensive mouth, I absolutely hate going to the dentist. Good news, Dr. Crawford makes it more than bearable. She came recommended by a friend and is only a few blocks from our apartment, so she was an easy choice. I'll keep coming back for the state of the art equipment and the generally wonderful service provided here. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that they forgot to tell me that they changed their hours and moved my 7AM appointment to 7:30AM, which was kind of annoying at the time (they were incredibly apologetic), but that would never keep me away. read more

I was just at Columbia City Dental for a checkup for my wife and I. Awesome small business! Hygienist Hal and Dentist Dr. Meghan were awesome! Great personalities, friendly, and took the time to explain what they were doing and why. I don't suffer from anxiety about visiting the dentist, but I can tell that people who do will really appreciate the way they take the time to make sure you are comfortable. We switched from our previous dentist who only opened on Fridays once every few weeks, as Fridays were the only days my wife could get a day off. Being open Fridays and early really helps for us to fit appointments. My wife had similar great things to say as well, and we are happy that we've switched to Columbia City Dental! read more

Upfront--the one star rating is solely to the front desk peeps--they emailed me recently that we're in phase 2 in Seattle to reschedule my appointment. They said in the email I had to call to reschedule, so I did, but no one picked up the phone. So I emailed them asking if we can reschedule via email--they tersely replied back saying they can't reschedule via email and that I have to just call them back. I called them again today and once again, no one answered. Are y'all in touch with the 21st century?? How is it that you can't schedule appointments via email? The only reason I wanted to go back to this office is because I worked with Hal, the hygienist, and he was very knowledgeable and congenial. It was a great experience where I felt I was really cared for as a patient (Thank you, Hal!). Meanwhile, the front desk staff have been condescending, unavailable, and plain rude every time I have been at their office. Not just me saying this--you can see other negative reviews, and it's a pattern that people are rightfully pointing out on. It's sad that the actual experts here are actually pleasant to work with, but it's quite an annoying and unpleasant experience to go through the hoops with the front desk people. Fantastic! I had been avoiding going to the dentist for awhile but popped a few fillings on a scuba trip and had to make an emergency appointment. Dr. Crawford was able to get me in right away to look at the damage and was able to present me with some great options. One of the best dental experiences I have ever had. I received an email to call & confirm my appointment (9 days away and scheduled 6 months ago) "at my earliest convenience". I was busy and did not have a chance to call yet and 2 days later I receive a second email cancelling my appointment! I called right away and the rude receptionist told me it was cancelled and they did not have time to do the necessary paperwork (5 days!) for my regular check-up. Terrible customer service, clearly incompetent office staff and just rude. Especially during times like these (Covid). Short version: really great experience at Columbia City Dental. The office is modern, clean and cozy, with all of the state-of-the-art dental equipment right in my neighborhood. The staff is warm and friendly, and Dr. Crawford's chair-side manner made everything seem easy and alright. Best experience ever in the dentists chair; so much so, I scheduled my 6 month cleaning before I left. Long version: I am not a fan of going to the dentist, none at all! I suffer the experience as a necessary evil to have healthy teeth. Going into the dentist, I expect to have my time wasted waiting until long after my appointment time, and then stuck waiting some more in the chair, etc. In the last 5 years I have gone to 4 different dentists. I was looking for a modern practice that accepts my dental insurance and would guide my dental health plan. Unfortunately, in these years of searching I had the spa-dentist, that was more interested in her own celebrity and selling me services than my teeth; to another dentist that advised me to get really expensive dental work (e.g. Invisalign, braces) that I don't believe I need. I didn't like the experience with my previous dentists, so I went looking for a new provider and came across Columbia City Dental. Overall, it's all about the staff and Dr. Crawford. Really nice, friendly and professional, they took the time to talk me through each step of my cleaning. I think it's great having someone chat me up about what they are doing in my mouth and why. For the first time in my 30+ years of going to the dentist I had a warm-fuzzy feeling and wanted to hug my dentist! I came away with clean teeth, a positive evaluation of my dental health--always a winner. Also, Dr. Crawford didn't try to talk me into any orthodontia or any products-for-purchase. Made my first appointment two years ago and have not gone anywhere else but here. The office is small and comfy not a typical dentist place. The hygienist was awesome - he was super friendly and he even remembered things we talked about from the last visit. Dr. Crawford is super awesome too! New to the area and looking for a good in-network provider to replace a lost filling and become primary provider. Made the appointment a few days in advance for the replacement, and arrived early with requested paperwork for appointment at which time was told the appointment was for an x-ray and exam and a follow up no earlier than four days later to replace the filling could be accommodated. I'm a bit in extremis due to pain from already missing the filling for several days, and frustrated that the reason for the confusion was that the primary receptionist had been out and I hadn't received proper explanation at the time of making the appointment. Lost work time in addition to further discomfort force me to give Columbia City Dental a one star review. Will seek dental care elsewhere going forward. read more

The Best Dental Experience I have ever had. I've seen a lot of dentists in the past and this by far is the best experience I've ever had. Dr Meghan is a "real" human being! She's honest, gracious, kind and loving and has a great sense of humor. She made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. She gave me a few options to take care of my cracked tooth and the choice was up to me. I had seen a dentist who quoted me an astronomical price and Her prices were significantly lower but clearly provides better service. Another provider also told me I had 5 cavities and realized after seeing Dr. Meghan that the prior dentist had lied to me. The hygienist was gentle and wonderfully mannered, explaining everything along the way.
