They seemed to have sacked the dentists I used to use here which was a big negative for me having liked the other ones. I hate seeing the little guy get stepped on. They also really hiked the price about $200 just for removing one tooth. No one deserves this kind of money for such a basic service. I went to the Columbia dental in Manchester Ct. The end 0f 2024, first they removed 1 tooth, and I was to get a cleaning in the next 2 weeks. Near the end of the year, they billed me 1,400 dollars and I paid it at with my bank card in full. I went back for a cleaning and they didn't do it. They didn't schedule the cleaning. Now I am starting to think about the bill because it didn't make sense why it was so high. Come to find out Columbia sent the bill to my insurance company, and they tried to double bill. This is only the start of things to come. Columbia told my insurance company that they did a bunch of work that day on my teeth and they couldn't prove it. I was in the seat for about 25-30 minutes, and it was no way they did what they billed me for. Columbia never told me that I was out of network and I had to pay this large bill. I went to my M7t bank and explained to them what happened and the bank stopped the payment and refunded my total amount. When the dentist gave me nonvaccine he just stuck the needle in my mouth without the pre-numbing agent. Columbia also did work and refused to repair the damage to my veneers. To end this horror story, when I was sitting with the billing person, a patient was screaming because of the pain, and the dental staff were laughing about what had just taken place. I scheduled an appointment Sunday for a Monday in Bristol. When I arrived at the Bristol location monday at 1pm, I knocked on the door, no one was there so I called the main number. I was told by the assistant that she has a note that office is closed, and they tried and called me and left me a message. I had no record of a call and no message. ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS SERVICE. I suffer from anxiety especially visiting dentists. i have been to several dentists and they have all been awful. One day, i decided to bite the bullet and have one of my tooth pulled. I was sitting in the chair and they gave me 3/4 vials of numbing at this point. i put a post up on fb - nothing bad "here at the dentist! pray for me because my anxiety sucks and i havent heard good things!" they gathered in the hallway while i sat in the chair - with alot of anxiety. they came into the room and said "Because you wrote a post on fb, you can leave!" and im like "theres nothing wrong w/ my post, i have anxiety. that means you get afraid of companies!" they absolutely refused to finish what they started. First of all. I have been overcharged multiple and each time I have tried to have this addressed they direct me to the billing people. Who never answer their phones and never respond to emails. They have also not given me a credit on my account. Secondly I had my first crown done two weeks ago and my jaw is still sore. I came in with a chewed up upper plate. There wasn't even enough left to show except a couple of teeth. Spoke with finance person. I have insurance, we discussed what I would have to pay out of pocket that insurance wouldn't cover. No problem. Had another problem with another tooth, and my dentist could not take me for two weeks. Remembered how well they did with my tooth. Went back in as a walk in, and again, they took me that day. It's been a terrible experience. I had to pay upfront. They told me that insurance companies typically only pay just over $700 for the work I needed. They went on to say that they would file a claim for the full amount and reimburse me if there was an overpayment. My insurance paid over $700 more than originally estimated. They owe me for that overpayment. When I call, they tell me that my insurance payments weren't recorded yet. WORST DENTIST OFFICE OR DR OFFICE IN GENERAL!!!!! I have been suffering with tooth pain and considering their zero compassion and all my anxiety, I needed to wait for nitrus after an awful first experience WITH THEM!!!!!! I was highly impressed with Columbia dental. The professionalism yet sensitivity to my anxiety (which was pretty extreme) with regard to having a root canal was outstanding. They were even able to schedule me in same day after the initial consultation revealed it was necessary. The quickness with not having to dread the first procedure, as well as the suggestion for taking a one-time medication to ease the stress (it took my mind off the pain while it was happening! Pretty amazing!) served me quite well. If i lived in Manchester, I'd visit Columbia for my regular exams too. I got my wisdom teeth extracted at this location, while I was chatting with the dental assistant pre-op, she noticed I had listed anxiety/depression on my medical history form. She then made an extremely ignorant and hurtful comment- "I always wondered how girls like you could have depression. I mean there's kids with cancer that are dying" Unfortunately depression is not as ignorant as your employees, and affects peoples of all shapes and sizes. Luckily, I'm strong enough not to let this comment to affect me- hopefully you can educate your employees on mental health awareness and how their comments of patients medical history should be for professional purposes only. read more

went to Columbia Dental because my bridge had broken They wanted 9,000 for a replacement. I canceled my appt, had a second opionion. The replacement bridge Columbia was prepared to attach the bridge to a capped tooth and a loose tooth. Would not last. I did not have them do the work. He told me several months ago he would stop the Citizens Pay line of Credit an refund the 125.00 they have been taking out of my bank account for months and months. The reason for a two star is because of the 2.5 hour wait before I was called in (for a 10:00AM appointment I was called in for a X-ray at 12:30PM and then the actual procedure at 1:00 PM). The staff are extremely courteous and professional, but the whole mismanagement of time did not go well with me. I was there for a tooth extraction and the actual procedure took about 10-12 mins. Dr. Ismail Okasha is an amazing prosthodontist! He and his lab technician Paul have a wonderful aesthetic sense and were able to create the most beautiful denture I have ever had since having my teeth pulled 15 years ago due to severe bone loss caused by toxic nickel and beryllium under the crowns and bridgework placed by another dentist decades ago. Because of all the bone loss in my maxilla, implants were not an option and I have never been able to find a dentist who could fabricate an upper denture that looked good and fit right, until now. I was just about to give up and then joined a new insurance plan (United Healthcare Dual Complete Medicare Advantage Plan) that recommended I try a prosthodontist instead of a general dentist and they recommended Dr. Okasha as one of their preferred providers. I immediately made an appointment with him and he was always very kind and patient with me. I had my final wax try-in today and couldn't be happier! They did what I thought was impossible: they made me a gorgeous new set of teeth! I can't thank them enough! Everyone in the Manchester office is very kind and professional. I'm a dental assistant. NOT here, not ever. I got in touch with my insurance about what oral surgeons are covered near me to extract my wisdom teeth and was happy to see so many women listed under this one number that was supposedly in Enfield. I called, not knowing it was a chain or that it was in Manchester until the end of the call. I showed up anyways because they fit me in so quickly for a consultation. I felt my stomach drop when I looked at the building, my first thought being I could never work here. The building was worse inside. They say they're on the third floor at a certain suite # but they basically own the whole upstairs. They leave EVERY DOOR (5+) open which creates a lack of privacy/is not HIPAA compliant. The reception area isn't trashy anymore like past reviews said but it was extremely chaotic with people coming in and out of every door. Office staff was bombarded with calls but had their conversations amongst themselves anyways. I was scheduled for noon today and I showed up early, but walked out at 12:30 after reading reviews the last 2 min I sat waiting. I wasn't the first person to walk out today, about half the names they called out before me left too. The other reviews on this page are very scary. I feel bad for the staff here probably thinking this is normal. There are signs at the main entrance currently that say to call to see if you can be let in due to COVID. Their number doesn't necessarily connect you to their Manchester location which caused an overflow of people in their waiting room that can only seat 4 people. read more

They sent my insurance x-rays that they were told weren't good enough to get crowns. My insurance requested better imaging that Columbia Dental never sent. Four months went by without them answering any questions or responses from my insurance or myself. The fillings that were done back in October, cracked and built decay and infection in both teeth. I went in there, in 2023 to figure out why I can't get any answers, and Dr. Sidhu literally got in my face and was yelling that she didn't get paid . And was mad that I would report her. I was in a car accident and broke 2 front teeth. I called the Manchester location and they set me up for an appointment. Apparently, Columbia Dental feels they need to do a "consult" before treating you. So, they took x-rays and gave me an appointment for the following week. I had already explained to the staff before I came in what had happened, so why set me up with a "consult" instead of an appointment?? I returned the next week for my appointment, and I left looking like Count Dracula! The dentist had given me a composite filling, and apparently she thought leaving me with fangs would be sufficient. Whenever I have had to see a dentist at Columbia on an emergency basis, they always give me one of those 15 minute "consults" and so many x-rays, I should be glowing. It seems like they are double-dipping into my insurance coverage, which is Husky D. The last time I was there, the dentist I saw was very nice, but they could give me no definitive answers on how they were going to fix my broken teeth other than they had to get approval from Husky. I've been seeing the new commercials for a few weeks now saying they are open 24/7. Is the commercial talking about a different Columbia Dental?? This company has turned to total garbage. High staff turnover. Doctors are never at location or running late. Witnesses staff arguments within waiting area and in front of customers. Locations closing, with no notice or outreach to clients/customers. Some locations open or close whenever... Likely due to low or no staff. Upon trying to schedule dental needs/Appt., I have been p!aced on hold..never to be answered back or hung up on. Since my normal location suddenly closed, also secondary.... Call center continues to try to send me and my family to new Hartford location (330 Main St. HTFD) where there is only street pay parking. This place is horrible. I started coming here right before the pandemic because my family dental practice closed and I wanted to stay up on my cleanings until I found a new place to settle in. I've been to multiple locations and the experience has gotten worse each time. I most recently had a filling done by Dr. Syed. He was so condescending the entire time and just a jerk. STAY AWAY!!! Went for cleaning, xrays and exam. Cleaning went well, but the Dentist said he didn't see anything on xrays that explained my tooth pain, and said I should see their Endodontist. The Dr. & location are under contract, according to my insurance carrier, yet I'm still being billed by Columbia Dental. !!!! Also, I got a second and third set of xrays from other offices, and the dentists I saw agreed I need a root canal!!! They even showed me the xrays, and I saw the condition that requires the root canal. So not only is the Columbia Dental office on West Middle Turnpike in Manchester charging me for work covered under my insurance, but the dentist who saw me there is, dare I say, not very good! read more

I dont know why i keep coming back here. I guess i am expecting them to fix the mistakes they've made! It never goes as planned. I am in more pain, pay more money, and the problem is now three fold. I finally came back to have a procedure completed since the pandemic hit, implants. I was met with hostility, aggressiveness, and a less then average job. Not to mention the lack of humility that was expressed. They let me sit there with glue all over my face, no one even bothered to wipe it off as they yanked the implant from my mouth...tears running down my face. I still owe thousands of dollars but will never be back. The pieces i have do not fit my mouth and no one has listened to me since 2019. 15,000 dollars later and still in pain. My mouth never healed right and I cannot take them to court according to law in CT. Trust me, I've been all through it! I don't know what type of business they are running out of this office , by far the worse experience I have ever had! I have serious concerns about the safety of their patients. My son had an appointment to have his wisdom teeth removed - he should have left and not returned on the day of his consult. The front desk staff was unprofessional and rude. They were having personal conversation and at one point, the office manager, who was also unprofessional, called them out on it in front with of a full waiting room of patients. After the procedure they discharged my son with no aftercare instructions. I had to call the office and ask them to scan a copy to my email. Three days post surgery my son was experiencing minor complications, we called the office and spoke to a dental assistant who said "what do you want me to do? "The best I can do is schedule an appointment, I'm not the doctor." When I asked for his name he refused to give it to me- "no, I'm not giving you my name, you don't need my name". I asked to speak to the office manager and he hung up on me. I called the New London, CT office and spoke with Julie- she was very helpful. Julie scheduled a follow up appointment for my son in the Manchester office, with the dentist who is also the owner. On the day of his follow up appointment, I spoke to the owner who barely had any interest in hearing what I had to say. I am beyond frustrated and disgusted w the customer service/care! I was so nervous going here because of the reviews, but they were the only place available to extract a wisdom tooth that was causing me awful pain. They were able to get me in the day after I called (nowhere else had appointments for 2+ months) and the receptionist, assistants, and doctor were all so fantastic! They explained the pricing and the procedure to me until I fully understood; they made sure I had no pain at all; they gave me laughing gas on request to ease my anxiety; they were so patient and kind the whole time. The office is much cleaner and significantly less dingy than previous reviews describe it as. I highly recommend this place. They were clear on pricing, showing me what the highest I should expect to pay so that there were no surprises (it ended up being significantly less). I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a professional setting or lack there of. I went for a crown with Dr. H and the appointment was for 10:00am and when I arrived I asked the receptionist about how long the procedure would take as I had to be at work for 12:00pm and he said about 1.5 hr. Then Dr. H and her assistant bring me in the exam room and begin to numb me. Dr. H. also starts to go over my x-rays with me which we had already discussed on my first visit so I remind her we had already discussed this and I understood and I also ask her about how long will the work take today. She says I am in her schedule for 2.5 hrs and then she leaves the room and goes back to another patient. As I am sitting there waiting for her to return I realize it is now 10:30 and it would probably be best to reschedule as I would not have enough time for the procedure to be done and make it to work on time. So I get up and walk over to the receptionist to see if I can and suddenly Dr. H appears out of the back and request to speak with me back in the exam room. My belongings were still in there so I follow her and as soon as I step into the room she closes the door behind me and holds the handle and is now blocking the exit and proceeds to say the following. She is stressed and dealing with an emergency and if the patient in the other room dies it will fall on her and more that I honestly can't remember but it was all in a very chastising manner and as if I had no choice but to just wait for her. So I try to explain to her that is fine and I was actually just going to reschedule because I had another engagement and the woman is now yelling at me and refusing to open the door until I demand for her to open the door TWICE and let me out of the room because at this point I did not appreciate her tone or demeanor towards me and did not want her performing any work on me whats soever. She then follows me back to the receptionist desk and is now screaming at me in front of the receptionist and another woman that was standing at the desk saying I am not listening to her and I need to listen to what she is saying and more nonsense about her being stressed and overworked which had NOTHING to do with me and my appointment. Then after I explain she does not have to say another word to me because I will never be a patient of hers and I don't have deal with anyone speaking to me in such a disrespectful manner. She FINALLY storms out of the office exclaiming "she just needs to get out of there" Nonetheless the receptionist was NOT surprised at her behavior and if you evver are booked with Dr. H. run because that lady is out of her mind! read more

Always a good experience. They have long hours and convenient appointment times. They never make you wait too long. Always thorough and take the time to explain what they are doing. I have anxiety going to the dentist and also a gag reflex. They are great at making sure that I am comfortable. My only gripe is that the office and practice in general is so large that I never get to know the Doctors or Hygienists. It's a new person every time.
