I love Columbia product, I went in looking for specific product and wanting to ask specific question about sweat pants/joggers, stood at a clothing rack for 10 minutes, watched several workers walk past me and workers standing around conversing with each other, after 12 minutes, I approached two males by the shoe racks and ask who the general manager was and they stated "we are managers". I said "I've been standing there for 12 minutes, waiting for assistance and not once was I approached and asked if I needed assistance. More than 5 workers walked past me. Very poor customer service, disappointed in a Columbia store. I was told the General Managers name was Sarah. Think its time for some training, less talking to each other and more proactive talking to customers. read more

First time visiting the Castle Rock Factory Outlets in Castle Rock south of Denver in several years. Store was easy to reach and they have plentiful parking. When you walk in, Womens, Youth and Accessories are to your left and Mens and Shoes are to your right. The clothes racks are well spaced. I saw a person in a walker having no issues. They have 5 regular fitting rooms + 1 handicap accessible room. The doors are locked and a staff member will unlock the doors, but most people leave the doors open they finish. No restrooms inside. I was able to exchange my large polartec fleece shirt for a medium (direct swap). The same shirt was on sale for $ 24.98 down from original price of $ 90.00 so I bought an extra. We walked in at 7:30 pm when they close at 8:00pm to get some ski clothes. We would NEVER stay past close ever because it's incredibly disrespectful. We have all worked in customer service and know what it's like. We headed towards check out a 5 minutes before 8:00pm and as walking to the front a employee man said "we would like to go home too" in VERY aggressive tone, as we are on the way to spend $200.00. I took a screenshot of the time walking out of the door and in the car AFTER they checked us out to prove the time. He was a Latino, bigger set man, around 5ft 10in-ish and the manager should know how he speaks to customers. The rest of the staff was incredibly kind! Love Columbia products BUT not a fan of this Outlet!!! Have experienced multiple staff who are not friendly and certainly do not put the customer first! The past visit was over-the-top in rude service prompting me to leave a review. We experienced several situations of staff trying to return items to racks and simply stepping in front of customers actively looking at products on the same rack so the staff could organise the rack...completely disrupting a customer and not even indicating they were apologetic or asking to have access. This is very rude and could easily be managed by slowing down a touch and saying 'excuse me - may I place these items on the rack you're looking at?' - not difficult. As well, I asked a staff member a question and she literally kept walking away from me and talking while I was asking the question. I paused and she, while turned away, said what's your question? I replied by saying you've walked away and turned your back on me - her reply was that she could keep working and help. Yes - this is absolutely true! And, because she did not value me enough as a customer to pause and help me for 30 seconds, I left the store to shop elsewhere. She lost a sale that day. Management - take note - customer service is not difficult, train your team to be friendly and likely see sales increase! Will shop elsewhere before I consider returning to this Columbia Outlet again. Poor customer experience. read more

Disorganized = False Advertising! Stood in line today for 10 minutes behind a woman buying a jacket that she found on the "50% off" rack. It rings up as 40% off. She flags the teller, who asks the manager what to do. He checks the rack, see that it does indeed hold the jackets & it says "50% off." He instructs the teller to ring it up as full price and then take 50% off. My turn, at the manager's register, with ski pants I found on the "40% off" rack. They ring up as "30% off." I flag the manager, he checks the rack, finds multiples of the same pants on that rack, comes back and tells me that they are on the wrong rack, they are supposed to be on the "30% off" rack instead. I tell him I don't want to pay that unexpectedly higher price, he says, "Sorry." Too bad for me. Thanks for wasting 20 minutes of my time. Organize your store, and if you have customers bringing items to the register, honor the advertised discount of the rack on which they were found, regardless of their gender. read more

The Columbia outlet store at the Outlets at Castle Rock was very nice. Service wasn't awesome, as the employees seemed to be busy doing other things, but I had no problems browsing on my own (and I had no questions). The store had a large selection of all types of clothing for the outdoors, including lots of fleece and jackets. Unfortunately for me, I didn't need a jacket or fleece, so there wasn't much to look at. I think this was simply due to the time of the year it was (March), not because of the store itself. All the winter stuff was on sale, and winter stuff is usually jackets and snow pants, etc. I did end up buying a couple of items, and checkout was super easy (although not super quick). I was happy with my visit and would love to go again another time of the year. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of buying a jacket and decided to return it the next day in its original condition without the receipt. If you don't have a receipt, Columbia (Castle Rock) will not refund your purchase if you paid by credit card. They will only offer you a store credit despite being misinformed by an employee who indicated that it would not be a problem for a full refund. The manager will make no exceptions to Columbia's store policy. I asked him twice--NO EXCEPTION. I asked why Columbia will not refund a purchase without a receipt if you paid by credit card. His reason was "loss control". He didn't say I'm sorry it's our policy with a reason that could be more palatable. The answer was simply loss control, which typically means theft or shrinkage. The manager further indicated that video surveillance is being used to monitor customer transactions. I said perfect, then you can pull the video to see I paid for the merchandise with my credit card. You get the feeling you're guilty unless proven innocent. read more

I ordered fleece jacket online it didn't fit so I figured I could exchange it at store (same thing different size) my item had tags attached to it I get to register and the sales associate was like I need your online receipt due to poor cell phone reception I couldn't pull up the email so I asked if there's any way to look it up I had my credit card number it was purchased on the date I purchased it and my rewards account she just plain said "no" I walked out and remembered I had a screenshot of the order number so I went back in asked for a manager (kasey) who said I can't use a screenshot even with an order number because it was not showing a picture of the purchased item and it was "inconvenient" for them to look it up specially because they are "swamped" But she was going to do it anyway so somehow she pulls up the order with the number I give her and I asked why the other associate wasn't able to ask a manager in the first place she said "I just told you it's inconvenient for us to go through this" I then asked if they rather not help the customer and loose and Customer and she then answered yes I'm not helping you go to another store!!!!!!!! Really disappointed with the service at this location. I found a pair of Men's slippers that were 2 different prices. I was told by the clerk that he would honor the lower price on the size that I needed. I did some more shopping, came up to pay for the items I had selected and was told by another associate " Ben", that he would not honor the price. I asked to see the clerk that said he would honor it and "Ben" says, no he will not honor that price, it won't happen. He was so very rude that unfortunately I will not return to this location. I have spent quite a bit of money there but this was uncalled for. I honestly do not know why some places employ the people they do. To lose a customer over a few bucks, is it worth it?? read more
