This review is for returns and customer service. As another reviewer already mentioned Buyer beware if you try to return anything here (particularly shoes). Honestly I wish I just bought this brand at another store than deal with the return at this location. . The 'supervisor' told me he would not take the shoes his - exact words- 'not at my store, I I can't resale them'! Why would you sell defective shoes?!? As if it was my fault that were defective shoes.. At the end of the day, with lots of push back they did the right thing and gave me my money back (reluctantly) . They both seem out of touch with reality. There is the trouble on the customer end to return an item that they completely neglected to touch on. Homely it comes to to customer service which this store lacks in. It's like they are reading out of a book. I drove 45 min to the location, I reviewed the return policy and just wanted to return the items (well within the return window). I'm glad there are other retailers in the area, that I carry the brand as I will never be coming here again. read more

I love Columbia Sportswear as a brand so so much. I find that they make good, innovative outdoors clothing for a much more affordable price versus Patagonia, Ar'terycx etc etc. When I do purchase their gear/items, I mostly find them in a section of Kohl's or Dicks Sporting goods, or online, etc. However I was very excited to find that they actually have a store near the DMV area! This store is located in Leesburg Mall in Northern Virginia about an hour from DC (which for me is not a bad drive). It is an outside strip mall so make sure you are prepared for the weather. There is plenty of parking and the parking is free. Columbia is easy to find and their store is the perfect size. It is not too big or overwhelming. When you first enter, the men's section is on the right and the women's section is on the left, shoes are in the back left corner, travel items are closest to the cash registers and the fitting rooms were all the way in the back. Staff members were present but not overwhelming, I like to be left alone when I shop so I love this. The fitting rooms were clean and I found someone to let me in very quickly. The newer items were neatly organized and offered plenty of sizes. There are two sale racks in the men's department and two in the women's. I found some great deals that I was very excited about. The cashiers worked quickly and efficiently. I believe that the store manager keeps a good clean store which only makes me love shopping here more! Good job! read more

I'm a fan of Columbia Sportswear - particularly their Men's Polo shirts and fleece jackets. Stopped in during the Christmas shopping season and bought myself a green fleece vest. Seems like the XL size is popular this time of the year - as I was lucky to find one in that size! read more

Every time we go here it seems that half the staff and management are at war with the other half over whether to treat customers as snarky or nice. I hate to say it but have started to dread going in for fear of the snark. This is a Columbia discount outlet, not a Parisian cafe - lay off the snark. read more

Man, I swear this place has the worst service. I forgot my student id once and asked my brother to show his instead for the student discount. Then the cashier insisted that my brother has to pay- which confused me. She refused to take my credit card and said the credit card must come out of my brother's wallet. Literally the most exotic experience ever. Do they not understand how credit cards works? I work and pay for my brother's authorized user card... so it was essentially the same card (same number, expiration,... etc)! The whole situation was pointless and just pissed me off. (Happened twice too- another time I showed my id and the cashier refused to allow my friend to pay for my clothes after I treated him for dinner.) She was rude about it and had an attitude. We tried to brighten up the mood by cracking a few jokes, but she responded by saying "they dont seem to teach a lot in school". Never coming again. If you hate your job so much, just quit. read more

Wow- went for equal exchange, and the two guys standing at the door (theft security?) were snide and rude- instead of explaining the policy of no refunds/returns/exchanges without tags attached and/or original receipt. We decided to just leave and not argue. Turned around and saw them chuckling at us as we were leaving! Why? Now we have observed the full decline of customer service at this outlet store. Worst store policy and I think they need new management. They basically force you to keep an item just because you take the tags off. Doesn't matter if it was bought few days ago. Managers are rude and they will make sure you don't leave happy from that store. I am never buying Columbia again. Better brands out there. read more

The store had a lot going on for the winter time. The staff was helpful at times but it took awhile to get into the fitting room. The store is ready for winter time. We shopped and found our items with no problem. The store was stocked up but looked a little cluttered too. read more

I really like Columbia's clothing so when I found out they had an outlet here I was thrilled. Compared to some of the other Columbia outlets I've been to this one seemed to have mostly coats, parkas, etc. Maybe it's just the time of year. The didn't have a huge selection of pants and other shirts. Columbia makes such great stuff and Ill definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

I purchased a jacket for my mother for Christmas, size was too small. I lost my receipt in the midst however the jacket still had the tags on it. I go to the Columbia store at the leesburg outlet where I had originally purchased it. All I needed was to exchange it for a bigger size. When I get to the register I begin to explain the situation to the young lady stating I had purchased this jacket at this store and I unfortunately lost my receipt. The lady asks if I am a loyalty member and I responded saying "no I am not" then she tells me she can't exchange the jacket not refunded the money. I responded by saying "I only need a bigger size, I have the card I originally purchased the jacket with and I can also show you my back statements that stats I have purchased the jacket here". She responds to me saying "I can't do anything about it, do you want to speak to my manager" I said yes. I again explain the situation to her manager another lady and she responds with the same answer the lady at the register had told me. I again ask why is it I can't exchange it for a bigger size? I have the jacket with the tags, I am not asking to get a refund and I also have the card I purchased it with. All the manger could tell me is we can't exchange the jacket because you are not a loyalty member nor have a receipt. We cannot do anything about it. Keep in mind these two didn't even look at the jacket nor the tags nor did they even touch the jacket to take a look at to see it was the same jacket I was exchanging for a different size. I walked out of the store abs thought this was ridiculous!!! How can you not exchange a jacket for a different size knowing it's the same jacket you have in store!!! This got me so mad and I could not believe this was happening! I have purchased plenty of items from this store and I can for sure tell you I am never going to this store again. The way these two ladies looked at me without having any solution to my situation knowing the jacket was the same and refused to help me. I did not understand it. I called the Columbia store at Potomac mills in Woodbridge and asked if they would exchange a jacket with no receipt, again I explained my situation and the lady on the phone responded "of course we can exchange it for a different size, as long as you have the tags and we have the same jacket in store it will not be a problem". I was shocked by her response, how can another Columbia store be able to help me but not this store?!?! I could not understand it. I had to drive to Potomac mills to exchange my mothers jacket for a different size, unfortunately they didn't not have her size and they were able to get my store credit so I would go purchase it online or come back to the store. After I was done I explained to the lady at the Columbia store in Potomac mills the situation that had happened at the store in the leesburg outlet and she looked at me in complete shocked and said "that is not a policy we have, as long as you have the tag on the jacket and we recognize it's one of the items we carry, We can exchange it for a different size. I honestly think they did not want to exchange it for you" I looked at her and told her I cannot believe this, I will never return to that store again. How can this store care for their customers if they are not willing to help their customers out. I am super upset and have never been told they couldn't help me at all. I understand if I wanted my money back but I was literally exchanging it for a different size!!!!!! This was super ridiculous and I need to speak to another manager or something because I cannot think this Is the only store with that kind of policy. read more

I was very turned off by the customer service at this location. No staff was willing to help us with picking the right products even though they were not busy and just chatting with each other.
