I LOVE this store! The exterior is so inviting. I generally start shopping in the back where there is clearance section. Then I start walking around other areas. Anthro has so many cute items. I love that their sizing is not limited. They offer a few pieces in plus size. Their hair accessories and jewelry are so cute. Anthro has so many giftable options as well. Their candles smell nice. Staff is very unfriendly- especially if you are doing a return. There was only one person at the register so I had to wait for some time. There was at least 1 other salesperson in the store but she was definitely not wanting to help me with my return. I got my refund taken care of but the customer service was not great. Very different atmosphere from when this store first opened- back then it was hippie dippie boho friendly. read more

Unique pieces and artsy functional items are always surprising to me from this store, definitely one of my fav clothing store! This location includes some shoe collection that are one of a kind. I always find pieces that are well structured and with emphasis on whimsy, vivid colors and European both countryside and city fancy sensibilities! About a 3.5: This is a solid Anthropologie store that has it's usual selections in clothing, shoes, accessories, and home decor items. I usually go straight towards the back in their 'Sales' room where, if you are patient enough to sift through their crammed racks, you might find a nice item at a great discount. Just be aware that a lot of women can be in this tiny space at one time! Marybelle in the dressing area was such a sweetheart and was very helpful with everything. A decent store to check out if you're in the Reston Town Centre area. Parking is kind of limited, as there are 30-minute and 1-hour spots (but, usually all taken). +ask for Marybelle! :D read more

Beautiful store, conveniently located in Reston Town Center, BUT the service is awful here. Visit#1 - Store was not busy at all and not ONE employee greeted me or offered me assistance when I entered the store. Buh-Bye. Visit#2 - Decided to give them a 2nd chance. Made a purchase from this store (over the phone) since the item wasn't available online. Item wasn't what I expected so I returned back to the store. They never sent me a receipt with the order (their fault), and I was told that it "was a good thing the item was still original price, because that way we can give you full credit back". Really?! I don't think so. If the item had been marked down since the purchase (which was only a few days prior), I'd expect to get the full amount back. Despite my annoyance, I decided to try on some items to attempt an exchange. There was one dedicated staff member in the dressing area and two-three other customers trying things on. I wasn't offered help while trying things on, but the other customers were. Strike out, Anthropologie. I got a refund and took my business elsewhere. In conclusion, I'll never spend a penny in this store. Friendly staff, but incompetent and therefore worthless. Prices are too high to pay that kind of money for awful service. read more

Anthropologie sells more than just women's clothing. They also sell kitchen stuff - as I found out a couple of weeks ago when a work colleague persuaded me to go in with her. One of the managers working that day - had a little black pug with her at work. Very cute little dog - as I recall his name is "Stewart" (or maybe Stuart?). Anyhow, he had a little red ribbon on his collar, so he was festive for Christmas. We stopped to pet him and tell him how cute he was. He did not sit still for long as he padded after his owner wherever she went. I found some nice green bowls that match the green in my kitchen - so I bought a set of eight, with a set of eight of matching ramekins/souffle cups. read more

I've always shopped at other Reston town center boutiques. Then I thought let me give Anthropologie a try. I am afashion stylish for many years. When it came time to purchase my top. I asked the red headed woman at the register about their rewards points and she did not sound like she wanted me to open one. Kept talking to go online instead. When I asked why can't I do it in the store, she replied that they ask too many questions, including address. Which I would have not minded at all. I would have liked my points to go towards my purchase, but I guess she didn't care that I showed there. Clothing selection was good but customer service, not so good. read more

Love Anthropologie and always had great customer service while shopping here. Today however was quite disappointing. I noticed they had 30% off sale and over the weekend it was 25%. While checking out I causally mentioned I had purchased some things over the weekend to the store manager. She didn't let me finish and cut me off rudely and said we don't price adjust and walked away. I wasn't going to ask her to price adjust. I know the policy. i completed my purchase and left. I called customer service and they did a price adjustment and said they always offer a price adjustment within a two week time frame. Perhaps this manager might need some training on customer service. read more

Damn! I completely forgot to review this place back in October :( It opened literally on the DAY I left for Europe (I know, I know, sounds like it should've been fun but it totally sucked... long story). I was so upset because I'd been counting the days 'til this place opened. I work right down the street in Herndon, and when I found out they were opening an Anthropologie in RTC I almost peed myself. The day I got back from Europe, I came here. The experience? I give it an overwhelming "Meh". I don't know what it is about this location... the store is gorgeous, the clothes and all the beautiful trinkets and treasures within are stunning, but the place rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it's the ridiculous amount of hoops you need to jump through in order to find a parking spot. Maybe it was the snooty sales girls. Maybe it was all the trophy wives of Reston perusing the goods and giving me nasty sideways looks. I don't know, but for some reason this place doesn't have the same feel as the Tysons Galleria location. I still come every chance I get on my lunch break- but I never feel quite right when I'm here. Definitely go! Go for the clothes, go for the housewares, go for the delectable line of Mistral fragrances and soaps, go for the AWESOME sale section (it's in the back; go in through the front door, up and to your left, then to your right, past the dressing rooms)... but don't go for the warm and fuzzy feeling you expect to get from the Tysons experience. [Every now and then, it won't be too bad and you'll find a nice salesperson or two and some friendly fellow shoppers... but those days are few and far between now that RTC is like a mini mega-metropolis]. All in all, the goods are still in the fashion of all that is typical Anthropologie- beautiful, and to be coveted... so, I still love you, Anthropologie! I will forgive the minor indecencies this locale sometimes comes along with, because you are oh-so-awesome. read more

I actually found this Anthro to be a little more inviting than the T.C. store. It might have been bc they have just opened so they can't shit the bed just yet on customer service. Anyways, I find this store to have a lot more home and personal products than clothing. Which is fine for me. I love the kitchen area with the napkins, glasswear, dishes, and the funky unique gifts. The clothes are awesome as as always. I was in around Xmas time, and the sales were great. beautiful candles and frames for about 5-9 bucks. Haven't been since, so I dont know if its still that way. Definitely worth a trip out there. I would go early though, parking can be a wee bit of a nightmare. read more

I love Anthropologie and this store is no exception. Even though I live a good distance from Reston, I end up visiting this Anthropologie most often because it is close to my father's U.S. office. This location makes it easy for me to get some shopping in after I visit him when he returns to the country for work. The decor is fantastic. It is consistently very unique, whimsical, and has a shabby-chic vibe. This store usually has a very big clearance section, it encompasses an entire room. I enjoy this very much, given the fact Anthropologie is by no means inexpensive. The only thing is, of course, you must arrive soon after what you have your eyes on goes on sale, or it will quickly be sold. At least, I find this true for Anthro's XS sizes. Additionally, I enjoy the service of this Anthropologie, the staff are not overbearing or pushy. Everyone is very nice. General shopping tip to keep in mind: This store is generally very generous in sizing and is extremely vanity sized. In many cases Anthro's size XS is too large for me. In addition to clothing, Anthro store sells numerous home appliances and other things such as bedding, things for children, and other random odds and ends. My only complaint is that this Anthro seems to take a bit longer to receive new arrivals then the other Anthropologie's in the area, (D.C., McClean.) Regardless, I usually wait to make an in-store appearance for some time after the items I have been longing for have been released online. read more

My wife returned a baby shower gift that we got two of. The girl behind the register was given a "GIFT RECEIPT" to make the return and she still refunded the entire order to the purchasers credit card instead of issuing a gift card. After "THEIR" mistake she said there is nothing we can do and tried to blame it on my wife for not telling her it was a gift, even with a gift receipt. The manager then said that she wasn't willing to help out except for a free candle and a 10% coupon!!!!! They felt as if they did nothing wrong and didn't even apologize for THEIR mistake. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Just to recap: the employee made the mistake, blamed my wife and then the manager tried to buy us off with a candle. Thanks Anthropologie, keep up the terrible work and keep selling over priced dish towels. Wish i could've given them zero stars. read more

Around 8:30PM yesterday, I went in to do a price adjustment for $98 worth of items since I bought the items last week at 30% sale items but today they were running 40%. Since the lady said they do not do them anymore, I asked if I could return and rebuy it and she said no that is the same thing (that is not the same thing). I ended up returning the items because I don't need the items I just liked the items but didn't need them. Why I give this store a 1-star review (I wish I could do 0-star review but that doesn't exist) is because the girl who checked me out for all of this talked bad about me to her employees and all of them were giving me looks. My sister asked to look at the item one more time to make sure I made the right decision in returning chambray dress and I don't care..I don't want it or to shop at Anthropologie again because I'm disappointed by their reactions and how "professionally" they handled the situation. read more

I love Anthropologie! They always seem to amaze me. However, the management is god awful. I work in retail so I know what it's like to deal with difficult customers or long work days. However, for some reason, the managers here always seem to be in such bad moods. They aren't helpful at all and they always talk to customers with an attitude. I highly recommend the store manager to think twice about whom they hire and promote. The sales associates are always so nice and helpful. Which I give them credit since they work with such rude managers. If you live near this location, i highly recommend you go to the Tysons location. Everyone there is absolutely amazing!!! read more

The best part, though, is the staff. The wonderful employees are always friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy to assist. The two stars are for the store itself, which is a bit overpriced but overall, unique and wonderful. It's 2 miles from my house, so I shop there quite a bit. The problem? The service. Or lack thereof. UGH. I stopped in this evening to buy a $38 doorknob. After waiting for the salesperson to individually box several items for the person 2 customers ahead of me, she inexplicably ditched the register and walked away. Later she said she had not been assigned to the register but had "been stuck there all day." Allrighty then. So I got in another line, came to the front, and asked for a box. The cashier said "I can give you a box, but I can't put it in." She gave me a flat scarf-size box, and I felt bad, but I told her I'd been waiting so long because someone else had their stuff boxed so cutely, with flannel flowered ribbons and all that. So she struggled to assemble the box but got it done. The service should be better, especially in this economy. I'm usually very sympathetic if the store is busy but people are clearly trying...I've worked in retail my whole life. But they weren't trying, and clearly couldn't have cared less. read more

For what they carry, these stores would be a five plus, but the sales help in their stores is so minimal, it just feels like another chain store experience. I don't like salesclerks hanging all over me either, but these clerks in Anthropologie just completely ignore you and aren't really more friendly at checkout. My favorite store in the DC area is definitely Rockville, and Georgetown is a close second, although parking in Georgetown is always a nightmare. Tyson's doesn't feel like one of their stores being inside a mall, and Reston and Mosaic don't have as much stock as the bigger stores. I love the look of the interior of all the stores, and I usually don't leave without at least 3 or 4 things, but it's all self-serve all the way. I have to wonder if they'd bang more money out of me if they had a clerk helping or making suggestions. I think they would for sure! read more

This is a great place to buy gifts for someone who has everything. They sell unique clothing, jewelry and kitchen items. They story is beautifully decorated. The sales people could stand to be a bit nicer, but I can ignore that because of all of the great items they have there. read more

I walked around for a few minutes with two dresses and no one bothered to offer me a dressing room. I love this store. It's my happy place. I admit it I am a sucker for the Anthropologie style. I buy a large percentage of my wardrobe here. If I had to pick one thing that they do best it would be dresses. If I need a dress I head to Anthro and I am never disappointed. I find the service in the Reston store to be very helpful. There is almost always someone who greets me and offers to help me find what I am looking for. I frequently will ask the sales staff for help choosing between items and I feel that they give me honest feedback, rather than just trying to push merchandise. The Tysons store is larger, but I find the sales staff in Reston to be more helpful. I buy a lot of cloths here and sometimes I change my mind. I admit that I am kind of a perfectionist. I have returned things on many occasions and they have never made me feel unwelcome. I am an Anthro member so they track my purchases, which is helpful if I misplace a receipt. The thing I am most excited about is that they are now carrying furniture too! They don't have much of it in the stores, but a great selection online. Now I wish they would open a furniture store so I could check out things in-person. read more
