I can't believe I'm barely writing a review now.... I've been coming here nearly all of my life. This store has completely stood the test of time, even now through this pandemic. To me, piping hot eggrolls are much more desirous than that of piping hot donuts. Amirite? I immediately break them in half so they'll cool faster to be ready for the toddlers to devour them. Their eggroll dipping sauce is so light and delectable....I could just about drink it. My eldest likes the noodle soup, I like their special fried rice with fresh cilantro in the mix, hubby gets a different order each time. There's both thai iced tea and thai iced coffee available alongside their selection of boba teas. I'd have photographed their large iced tea but I had finished it before arriving home! read more

When I walked in, it didn't seem like a space that would serve food, that's for sure. The space is very small and cluttered. I came by to get some spring rolls to go. And the lady said she couldn't make any because she was out of bean sprouts. Which I thought worked for me because I didn't want the sprouts anyway and told her, but she still said she couldn't make them without and insisted she needed to make it with the sprouts... so I was a bit turned off by her attitude. If the one ingredient they were out of, I didn't care for is missing, that's better for me , so why tell me no? Hm read more

This is our go to market for all our Asian food needs in the area. They have a good variety of fresh produce as well as canned and bagged goods, especially considering the location. They also have fresh cooked food for sale. Our cashier was super friendly and sweet. Definitely will come back :) read more

Stopped by to check this place out after my visit at another Asian market in Richland a couple days ago. Surprisingly this place carries more options than expected. Produce and vegetables is still lacking, but I understand it is perishable. The basics are there if you need some ingredients. In the corner of the grocery is a "restaurant ". It serves basic pho noodles and fried rice. We ordered both to try but was not impressed. Too oily and salty for our taste. Will definitely come back here for grocery. read more

I popped in here looking for something different in the tri-cities and found this based on yelp reviews. Wasn't quite sure what to expect as I pulled up to a market. Tucked off to the right from the main entrance was 4 tables that served as the sit down part of the restaurant. I love these small mom and pop places. Quick order of Pho and some eggrolls and I was in heaven. Ate like a king. Definitely hit the spot before I headed to the airport for my flight. Will be back. read more

I was looking for a good pho in the Tri Cities as I was sick and really needing the bone broth. I asked for recommendations, and while I received quite a few around town, I got a rec for this market twice and the Yelp reviews looked promising. I went for it and was not dissapointed. I got the beef/meatball mix. The broth was so tasty on its own, and even though I love spicy food, I was sick and skipped out on the sriracha/extra heat. All the extra fixings were fresh as could be and the price was great! I live in Seattle, so I'm used to more expensive pho. Anyways, I'd highly recommend this market and its pho. Given most Asian markets tend to be "Mom and Pop" establishments, don't come in here looking for a mainstream supermarket experience. Instead you should shout "hooray" to find freshly shredded green papaya, aisles of sauces/condiments/canned goods and just about every type of rice noodle under the sun (including fresh char ho fun and Korean Tteokbokki). All the while you are poking around all of the "food treasures" you are exposed to the most tantalizing aroma of pho coming from the tiny kitchen near the front (one table with two chairs and another with one seat). I love shopping at small businesses and supporting the local community. The have reasonable hours for shopping and the hours are the same for the restaurant inside. This place is my long standing Pho restaurant of choice in the Tri Cities. The rating is based purely on food since the atmosphere is really nothing to speak of, since there is just 4 tables crammed in the corner of a grocery market. One thing you will get here is consistency since the only employees are the owners and family members. They have a limited menu since the restaurant is not their core business, but the pho is always really good and the fresh spring rolls are above average. Service is fine but don't come here for conversation or recommendations, you can go to a chain style place for that. Come here with an expectation to eat pho and feel confident knowing you will get a good bowl over and over agin. While you wait, have a quick walk around the market and look at all the fun and wild frozen food they sell, it always gets some giggles or awkward faces from the folks that have never been to an asian market before. You can also pick up some new vietnamese words while you dine as you will frequently hear the owners yelling across the store to each about one thing or another. Just something about that experience that is unique, not forced and a little re-assuring, since they just serve you your food and don't really try to cater to you since they don't have to worry about whether the food was good or not. read more

I was surprised to finally find a market in the mainland with lots of local goodies. I'm so impressed! We had lunch here and were amazed by the variety of pho soups and the low prices. I ordered the beef pho which came with thinly sliced beef and meatballs. My husband ordered the duck pho with egg noodles. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, but what really stood out was the amount of delicious, meaty duck pieces that they put in my husband's dish. This is THE place you have to go if you ever want pho in the Tri-Cities. Here you will find authentic Vietnamese-made menu. The dining area isn't glamorous, but the food is really tasty. My friend (who's Vietnamese) has taken me a couple of times and I've tried the beef & chicken pho and they are both great. Be sure to thrown in all the provided ingredients (well, I skip the peppers since I'm a wimp). I then add some hot sauce, sweet sauce, and then a few drips of the fish sauce---I mimicked my friend step for step since he's a pho pro. They're open until 7pm every night. I should also make mention of the fairly big market here. They have tons of stuff here ranging to a decent produce section with many things I have no idea what they are, but assume are Asian staples. There's also all kinds of fish in the frozen section. Then there are rows and rows of all kinds of Asian grocery items. Many of these things are exotic and foreign to me, but it's cool to take a trip label to label. Up at the check out, you will find some fresh items. Lately, they've had persimmons, and last night, they had an ice chest filled with crabs (which were still movin' a little!). So come here to check out the grocery, but definitely come to get some authentic Vietnamese food. read more

My non-driving grandma used to have me drive her here to get her Asian grocery fix. (In the Tri-Cities, Asian grocery options are limited and a challenge). I used to dread driving 'all the way to Pasco for groceries' but I can now appreciate the offerings at Columbia Market. Things I have been able to regularly find here are: Haw flakes - deliciousness Glutinous rice flour - to make sticky cake Matcha powder - it's behind the cash register and you have to ask for it Pho - the pho in the restaurant is pretty good Asian produce and greens Curry paste And I have no idea what it's called, but these chilled, sweet dessert cups of Vietnamese tapioca, banana, and other assorted goodies that are seemingly made on-site and in the refrigerated section by checkout. YUM. Reminds me of the dessert cups we used to get at Viet-wash grocery store in the international district in Seattle. The cashier here always makes sure to place a piece of scotch tape nicely around the lid to ensure no spillage. A great place! read more

Great little Asian grocer with a tiny, but nice, Pho restaurant. You see the order counter with a tiny dining area as you first walk in, but no worries; there's a bigger dining area on the other side of the grocery store. My family and I sat in here very comfortably. I was impressed by the food, although perhaps shouldn't have been surprised. The duck pho was on par with any authentic Pho restaurant in any big city I've eaten at. I typically think most Vietnamese places are mostly the same, but this was especially good quality. This market has a fantastic selection of Asian spices and foods. Things aren't always labeled well, so if you don't know what the ingredient you are seeking looks like, you have to ask. Despite a seemingly limited English vocabulary, the (family) staff has always been able to find what I need. They also have a little "deli" inside that has the best Pho I've had so far in the Tri Cities. I think they call it "noodles" so it's a little confusing if you haven't been there before. The duck curry is my fave. This is the place to go for authentic food. Yes the place is old, dingy and sometimes questionable but there are things worse. I have not had a problem yet and we've been going there for over 10 years. The spring rolls are great. They have boiled peanuts. I can always find a treat for myself there. read more

The only place I go to for pho. They have curry pho options, and it is THE best thing pretty much ever. I even ask for no meat, and like many people I'm close to being a carnivore. I just love the broth, and how it soaks in to the noodles. Add a little Sriracha, lots of basil, and a bit of lime juice, and it just brings it out even more. However, I do have to rate it 4 stars, and only because the atmosphere / service isn't totally perfect. But, honestly, I don't even care because I am so in love with the pho. I used to frequent there once a week when I lived in the Pasco area. And when you're done, exploring the market is a lot of fun when you're feeling adventurous. If you love pho, you have to go here. I have yet to find another place, even in Seattle, where they add curry to the broth. Sorry, but Columbia Market has upped my expectations. read more

There are definitely better places to be had elsewhere, but if you don't want to make that long drive to Uwajimaya in Seattle or other Asian grocers in Portland, this is your best bet for the Tri-cities. Besides the grocery (fresh produce, canned and frozen stuff, pre-packaged noodles and snacks), there's a small little cafe where you can order up some of the best Vietnamese noodle soups (Pho) east of the Cascades. When I lived in the area from '02 - '05, this was the place to be for a Friday lunch - it was prolly better known to the locals as "look-at-all-the-geeky-scientists-coming-out-of-the-labs" day. I'm only half-kidding. That's okay, I think I had some of the best scientific discussions I've had in years there....and I really think it may have something to do with the Pho! Does Pho increase your IQ? There may not be a strong correlation between Pho and IQ...but I like to think that Pho was the great equalizer in that situation bringing together students, post docs and staff scientists together at one table to discuss anything they wanted. [OK, this is really a credit to the amazingly gifted people I worked with at the time, but a boy can make hyperboles, can't he?] Far from the traditional beef noodle Pho here, they serve up some good variations like duck curry noodle soup and a vegetarian curry noodle soup (I think on request, since Nellie asked for it off menu and they obliged!) among others. It's a neat twist on the usual Vietnamese fare. Back in 2005, I seem to recall this was all less than $10 for huge bowls of soup noodles, hot tea, tax and tip. (maybe $8, b/c it's been so long). As for the place, it's a family owned business. They have 2 dining areas - a smaller one near the entrance and a larger one in the back room on the left side of the store as you enter it. lots of tables....so don't worry. They also happen to serve up a decent bubble tea - it's a bit sweet for my taste b/c (I think) they use a powder mix. Not bad nonetheless. One thing to note, parking can be a chore as there's a small lot which fills up during lunch. Not terrible, but something to note. So, hankering for that Pho? Drive across the 182 into Pasco, if you're coming from Richland. If the conversations tend toward molecules and chemical reactions, just sit back and relax. You've entered the science zone. But rest assured, you'll either have an epiphany or you'll just sit back enjoying the Pho. Great stuff. A solid 3.5 stars. read more

The one and only time I are here, I was sitting at a table when I noticed a cockroach scurry under the table next to me. There were several, and I ended up stomping on one (see photo). I would give this place zero star if I could. I ordered one duck noodle soup with extra duck meat and spring rolls. First, duck noodle soup is 8.99 and they charged me 8.99 for extra duck meat? So I basically just have two orders for my own?? They could have told me that this is how much they will charge me. Its not how you run a fair business. Also the extra duck meat that they gave me are bone,skin and fat.Dont they look at the duck first before they put it in my bowl? I ordered duck meat, not the shitty parts of the duck. Second, the veggies in the spring rolls are not fresh and its disgusting. I told them about it and their reaction was like " oh ok we will make it fresh next times"?? The grocery store was allot bigger then I thought and had a pretty decent variety of stuff from all over Asia. The prices looked like they were on par with most other Asian grocery stores. I had a bowl of their spicy beef pho and it was.... Ok. The broth didn't have a ton of flavor but it was decent, wasn't really spicy (easy fix with Siracha) and I really didn't care for the noodles.
