I believe anyone can rent out the space, which consists of several rooms and kitchen area. While the view is scenic and overlooks the river and woodland, the majority of the interior is dated and very 1970's with dark wood paneling. There is a newer, more modern space where the bar is located, which would be ideal for smaller occasions. However this review is based solely on bingo - which takes place Monday and Thurs nights. While Monday is open to the public I'm not sure about Thurs. They operate a well-oiled machine with high payouts, courteous staff, and even machines you can rent that play for you (min purchase of paper cards required). You can spend as little or as much as you want. The lowest amount of cards you can buy is a 3 pack for $3. Specials are ran throughout the night and are $1 each, with cards being sold before bingo starts as well as right before that games starts. There's pull off tickets, door prizes, and other ways to spend and win. Payouts are in cash. There's also an early board game and food available for sale. Halfway through the night is intermission, enough time to run to the restroom, catch a smoke or grab some grub (you are welcome to bring your own). Do arrive early to claim your seat. There's two rooms of bingo (playing the same game via monitors) and it attracts a big crowd. Do bring cash, water, multiple bingo dabbers, and snacks. It's also helpful to bring tape - to tape your special cards together and to tape your door prize number to the table, a highlighter - for marking special letter games, and a pen. Don't buy more cards than you can handle. Games are fast paced and with the additional of pull off ticket sales there's a lot going on around you. Do pay attention and be sure to grab a game schedule - so you know what game will be played on what card. Do bring a friend - it's no fun playing bingo alone although everyone I've encountered there have been nice. Plus you'll have someone along to help you figure it all out the first time. Good luck!

Can only vouch for their bingo which I attended once after finding their event on Facebook. Bingo…read moreappears to be a big fundraiser for them and something they do on the regular. Best to "like" their page to see upcoming events. Bingo is one of my favorite things to do, and it's even better when you can help out a local fire hall in the process. This bingo is held at their fire hall. The kitchen was open and offered several food options, including homemade chicken noodle soup. Everything was very affordable. Bingo can be won 8 ways and they have those ways pictured on their board. While they do have a visual of the ball they call they don't have a "board" to check what numbers were already called. The caller was ok, a bit on the slow side, and I did have some issues "getting in the groove" with his "call" method. Regular games were .25/card. A volunteer came around and collected for each game. Special games were $1. The payouts were 1/2 of what was collected, some of the specials paid out in full. On average winnings were $15 per game give or take. They also had door prize tickets and 50/50. Overall the energy level wasn't there. I like bingos that are more upbeat and lively. At age 50 my friend and I were the youngest folks there. The specials weren't a shape or anything challenging - the only difference was the price/payout. They offer cardboard cards and plastic chips. I have my own magnetic chips and used those. It wasn't especially crowded but not really set up to properly social distance either. No one was masked. There were several "false" bingos called which wasted time and is looked down upon and strongly discouraged at other bingo halls. Here it seemed to be a normal occurrence. The addition of a bingo board would help with that. Overall it was a way to kill time on a Friday night and hopefully win a few bucks in the process while donating to a worthy cause. I do prefer callers that move a little faster and games that stay away from basic. Probably won't be back.

Depending upon your military or civilian status you could pay between $15-$25 a year to be a member here (and yes, people with absolutely no military background can become social members). What you get in exchange for your dues is the most amazingly cheap drinks you will ever find... Mixed drinks and shots $2, 12 oz draft 75 cents, 16 oz draft $1, 3.75 small pitchers. It really doesn't get cheaper than this. There is also a small kitchen that has burgers fries that kind of thing on the weekend...food here is hit or miss, heavy on the miss tho lately. Additionally, if you are offended by thick disgusting smell of the day's many cigarettes as well as the sunk in acrid odor of old stale smoke this is not the place for you. ventilation is minimal, windows are nonexistent. It is a given that I have to wash whatever I wear there in a strong detergent immediately after leaving. There is a pool table (free pool on sunday, pool leagues on monday and tuesday, scaryoke (karaoke) every friday, occassional dances, weekly wednesday night bingo, and small games of chance (pull tabs, punch boards, daily book drawing). Compared to some of the other illustrious (read: mindblowingly scary and white ghetto) establishments in Columbia, the American Legion may be your best bet.

You go in, get your bingo package (lowest was $18 to get a stack of bingo games + a computer), get your computer off the rack, then sit down. There are multiple clerks wearing aprons that can help you out. Be prepared to know what "small round robin" and "postage stamp" means. It's actually really easy to google and the computer screen will light up the pattern you're going for. During some of the games, the clerks go around to offer more games for more money. Kim, one of the clerks, was so kind to me and made sure I was on track. She answered any questions I had and it made the whole experience more comfortable as I had gone alone! The bingo itself was super fun!!! I would love to come back with friends. At first, I was intimidated due to how fast the games were going during the early bird special. But, the pace is much better for the regular games (not including the quickie games). However, I do think this place needs to be cleaned. Oddly enough, the bathrooms reeked of nair?? Like it smelled like strong chemicals and wasn't the cleanest. Tip: ask for the program and bring drinks/snacks. Expect to be there from 7:30-11PM. Also, bring cash!!

Games are already going (early bird started at 7pm, and I have no idea what was being played) Peppe hadn't just arrived either. They were seriously settled in. You go to the window and are handed the standard cards. Then, you pick the package. No idea what the packages are, but I walked away with a ton of cards and a dauber. Then, you'll grab a small computer. Let's make it more intense and add a machine that auto plays for you. Ask for the program. You'll see each game has a slot and will be able to follow the sequence easier. There's an option to buy food (if you arrive early enough) People pack coolers. Pack a cooler - it takes so much focus to play, snacks are important. There's a few breaks. That's good because there's no room for error. Don't miss a number. Games move fast. Big money is tied to the last game. Smaller games are sold all night and have large prizes. One attendee must know which cards are hot because he kept winning. Amazing. Loved it.
