Agree with other reviewers about the front office, rudeness and unprofessionalism. Called and they say they "fix screen doors." Drove all the way across town with the doors and the person said "yes" we fix screen doors. When I mentioned I had them in the truck, she said," Oh, sorry we are too busy right now." Then I remembered, this was the same place I took a door to a couple of years ago and was told the exact same thing. In my opinion, they don't care about service and are money-grabbers, wanting to come out and sell you new doors, not fix them. Avoid this company, not professional. read more

We ordered a shower door and glass from Arizona Showers (through Lowes). Columbus glass installed them. They were absolutely professional.The staff was polite and delightful.They had to come back a couple of times to complete the job (through not fault of their own).Each time they said they would be there at a specific time; they were there right on time. When I spoke with the office, they were friendly and always helpful. I found out after speaking with a neighbor that Columbus Glass installed the glass for their kitchen cabinets a couple of years ago. They did a beautiful job with those as well. The people in the front office are rude and seemingly make an extra effort to offend and alienate. Smiling and helpfulness is definitely not in the repertoire. Their prices are always exorbitantly more expensive then other glass stores but I keep tying because the location is central and convenient. If your prices are consistently 20-30% more then other glass companies you would think customer service would be the distinguishing factor it is the opposite. I went in for a small replacement piece of frosted glass. 80 dollars later they handed me glass that was a different color and did not match. They don't care. They make no effort to help. read more

I had one of those opening windows you can just buy at the hardware store, that was shattered with a BB from a neighboring house. Columbus Glass & Screen replaced the glass for a fee that wasn't a bank breaker. It took the exact amount of time they said it would, which was about 6 weeks. I mean, they said it would be back together and ready to pick up the week of March 7, 2022, and it was, even though they had to special order the glass! My window is back in the door. I am in the process of obtaining estimates for the installation of frameless shower doors. The 2 gentlemen who came out to measure were very nice, professional, and very helpful. But April in the front office, who I spoke to on the phone several times is one of the rudest, most short-tempered, ill-mannered, angry women I have ever interacted with. She has several complaints written about her, in these, and other reviews. Apparently, management doesn't care because she's still there. Maybe there products are good, their costs reasonable, and they have been in business for a long time. But April, with her angry, impatient, condescending attitdue is single-handedly killing much of their business. I will talk to management tomorrow, and if she's the only person to work with on my project I am definitely not going to do business with this company. Nobody needs to accept being treated rudely by any employee. April is a game-changer, regardless of how good Columbus Glass's product line and reputation. She is unbelievably rude. read more

Ordered a dual pane replacement glass from them because they absolutely guaranteed it would be delivered by the promised date. Well, they missed the delivery date so we wanted our money returned. They claimed that their vendor had already completed the order but missed the delivery truck and since they had no use for this glass they would only refund half the $360 cost to us! How benevolent of them! Here are the lessons learned about Columbus Glass; 1. ALWAYS PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD so when the vendor tries to screw you, like Columbus Glass, you can take the issue up with your credit card company. 2. There are too many glass companies in Tucson to deal with a company like Columbus Glass. Shop around and make them your last resort. And why is it there are only "Stars" on these "Rate and Review" pages? When a service provider is this bad, there should be "Black Holes" to the left of the single star. read more

Columbus Glass was a sub-contractor for our bathroom remodel. We ordered a large, beveled mirror, and when it was installed, we noticed a small chip at the bottom. Our contractor had us deal directly with Columbus Glass to figure out what to do. Brandon came over and we asked if it could be fixed (nope). He right away offered to contact his boss and see about replacing the mirror. He said he didn't want us to think bad thoughts about their company every time I looked at the chip! We went ahead and had them make a new mirror, and Brandon and another guy came over--ripped out the old mirror and replaced it with a perfect one. We truly appreciated their commitment to our satisfaction! Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Both installers were friendly and professional. read more

After using Columbus Glass several times with expensive but good results, we finally had a bad experience with them. They measured for four panes of glass, I stood and observed. The price was very high, so we ordered just two panes to replace in one window. Later the first pane was installed, and as they were leaving my wife intercepted them and asked about the other pane. We were told only one pane had been ordered. After numerous phone calls with a friendly office staff person, we were told only one pane had been measured. We paid $100 in labor, and that was simply to put in a slider pane, a 10 minute job. We were told it would cost another $100 to get the second pane installed. The owner was to call us back to discuss it, and never did, never returned our call. Last time with Columbus Glass for us! UPDATE: Columbus Glass was kind enough to write to us offering to make it right. I will update again after contacting them in the fall. Nice gesture! read more

The front desk of this business is rude, unprofessional and short tempered. They promised my glass to be in stock in a week, but unfortunately it broke on the loading. I was told there would be another delivery. I have had to call to check on the glass- never have I received an update. April was angry and rude, almost as if I was bothering her to assist me. Now I am told they are really backed up and my mirror will be installed in 10 days. There has never been an apology for the delay in the installation but instead I was yelled at for asking questions. I'm an interior designer and I have never been treated with this disrespect in Tucson. read more

Shortly after writing my one star review, I was contacted by Brandon concerning the glass and asking that I bring it in. I contacted April, front desk, and made arrangements to bring it in. Tyler, one of the field people there, actually delivered and help me install the desk top today. Polite, apologetic for trouble, and very professional. Just like our last two glass project we did with them, this is a thing of beauty and fits like it should. Have tried to contact Jessica or anyone for that matter about a window that was far to big and couldnt be installed. after not talking to me about solutions to the problem they just left. I've use these guys for a few projects now, and I have to say: they have the best prices and turn around time that you can find in Tucson. If you do any price shopping around town, you'll quickly realize that this is the place you want. The only reason I only gave 4 stars is because the office is a bit homely. I feel like they could do well with an update at the storefront, or at least file some of that giant paperwork mound at each of the desks. We've used Columbus in the past for a couple small glass projects and haven't had an issue. So, when we needed a quote for a custom bathroom mirror and frameless shower enclosure, we got a bid from Columbus, and a few other contractors. The gentleman who came out to do all the measurements was very pleasant, prompt and competent. It was a little annoying that it took over a week just to get a quote, and more annoyed that the quote was 50% ($1100) above the first bid. I called Columbus, fully disclosed I had a competitor's bid that was significantly less expensive and even provided Columbus the copy of the other bid so it knew I wasn't trying to pull a fast one. I simply asked Columbus if there was any room on their bid to be more competitive with the first bid b/c we'd prefer to go with Columbus given our prior experience. That seemed to strike the Columbus employee the wrong way and it went downhill from there. She first gave me this song and dance about how the competitor's bid did not have enough detail for her to determine why their bid was less, and then changed her tune to say the extra $1100 was for 3 clamps, instead of u-channel. That seemed unlikely so when I confirmed that she thought 3 clamps would increase a bid by 50%, she backtracked and said she didn't know and would need to rebid. At that point, I simply said, we'd like to go with Columbus, I've been completely transparent and I'm just trying to see if you can get any closer to your competitor. She huffed and puffed and said she needed to speak to her boss and get back to us. Suffice it to say, we've never heard back from Columbus. Since then, we got a third bid just to break the proverbial tie and, again, provided my two other bids. The third contractor immediately looked at Columbus' bid and said it seemed high and that it shouldn't be because they all use the same 1 or 2 glass vendors. Sure enough, the third bid came in just slightly higher than the low bid but still significantly lower than Columbus. Bottom line, Columbus was over-priced, generally unpleasant, took too long to even get a quote, and refused to budge on its price. I would look elsewhere if you need glass or a mirror. read more

We used Columbus Glass and Screen last year (April 2020) to fix a few windows and install solar screens on 10 of our windows. Initial process install was okay, they had to come out a few times, since they measured incorrectly, whole process took a few months. Here we are in August of 2021 and we decided that we should install a few more solar screens on our remaining windows. However, this time I decided to go with anther company, new company informed us on initial quote/measurement visit that all our screens had been installed incorrectly (backwards, rubber facing the sun) and would only last about 5 to 10 years if they were not fixed. We of course called Columbus right away, they were very rude and told us their was nothing they can do since it had been over a year since install. How am I suppose to know when they did the install that it was done incorrectly! Anyhow, super disappointment is customer service and integrity of this company, I will not use them again or refer anyone to them. We spent over 2K on solar screens with Columbus. At least we were fortunate that we found out when we did so I can get it fixed (now out of my own pocket other company is going to fix Columbus bad install) and hopefully get the life expectancy out of our screens. read more

Went here several years ago for a small project. The customer service isn't the best but it's not terrible either. The work that was done was done well and the price was reasonable. I would probably go here again if needed. Crappy quality double pane window (thin aluminum frame) that doesn't keep the sound out any better than the old original 1974 single pane window. The installation was horrible and the window didn't even seem to be the right size for the frame and the black sealent they used wasn't even enough to fill the gap. I really had a god experience with Columbus Glass today. I talked to them on the phone a few days ago and they were very open and honest about my options. I truly felt they were treating me fairly and concerned about what was best for me, not just making a sale. When I went in today they actually remembered the phone conversation from the previous week. They took good care of me, did outstanding work and gave me great value. I left a message and called back the next day (because I didn't get a return call) to be told calls are returned within 48 hours. So I asked about someone coming out and got a runaround that only mornings are available and that I could not schedule an afternoon appointment at this time. I'm used to buying glass where if you're not careful the edges will cut you bad. This is my first time purchasing here and, w/o asking, all the edges were ground down so there's no possibility of getting cut. None! I wanted an updated European-style glass door for my master bathroom shower. Brandon and Andrew made two trips to my home. The first was to measure the opening for the shower door to determine the type of door which would meet my specifications and the price for such. I was called within 48 hours with the price -- very reasonable for such a product. I ordered the door over the phone. It was made and then installed (by Brandon and Andrew) in two and a half weeks. The measurements for the door were perfect --with a 1/32nd of an inch tolerance. The installed door looks like it was always there. The removal of the old door, caulking, etc. was such that one could never tell that anything else existed there before. I could not be more pleased.
