I called to see about an estimate for ear microsuction because the website says, "Treatment may…read moreinclude prescribing ear drops, applying wax-dissolving agents, using a suction technique, or providing another appropriate solution." The woman who answered said it's not actually microsuction and that they either use irrigation or a special tool. I asked so a curette spoon (just a tiny ear spoon) and irrigation, which she confirmed saying suction machines are more common in ENT offices. I thanked her for the information, apologized for calling, and stated that the website needed updated since there's no suction. She hung up on me. If anyone is interested it's $25 for the spoon and $30 for the water method there.

Lois is the best!…read more Having been utilizing hearing aids for over 10 years, my first experience with hearing aids was a disaster because the most important person in the process.-the audiologist was terrible. No follow thru, here you go, can you hear me? OK now scram. That's why over 1/2 of hearing aids sit on top of dressers, never to be worn because of poor fitment, fine tuning to the users environment etc. Lois has consistently given me great care and is always willing to go out of her way to make sure that I can utilize my hearing aids without discomfort and actually perform to their capability. She has negotiated free replacement/repairs with manufacturers when out of warranty. A recent example was Lois coming in in her day off to adjust my aids, I'm going out of town for business and rely on them for me to communicate with my customers, she came in to adjust clean and did a hearing test to make sure they were programmed correctly. With a major investment like hearing aids $5K, make sure you get the right Audiologist that makes them a worthwhile investment. HIGHLY recommend Lois Barin.

It was decided that for the hearing issues I was experiencing, mainly not being able to hear conversations in crowded environments, that hearing aids would be beneficial. I was fitted for a pair and when they came in the following week Dr. Adam walked me through everything I needed to know to take full advantage of my new hearing devices. After wearing hearing aides now for more than 3 weeks I am thrilled with the improvement to my hearing. The first real test of my new hearing aides was in a crowded, noisy restaurant. My wife was talking to me and I was amazed at how these devices zeroed in on her voice so I was able to hear every word she spoke plainly and clearly! And an additional bonus has been how concealed and out of view they are. My Sister-in-law knew I had them but after visiting her and talking with her we were leaving and I asked her what she thought of my hearing aides and she exclaimed "I can't even see them!" She had to look closely at the side of my face to even see them. After that I was talking with our Son and after a few moments he reached out and turned my face to the side. I asked him what he was doing and he said "I wanted to see if you were wearing your hearing aides because you could hear every word of our conversation!" That was a BIG DEAL. When he was younger and before I realized my hearing was diminished I used to ask him to speak more plainly and to stop mumbling. I didn't realize the problem was with me and not him. Several years later after I realized my hearing had faded I came clean during a Family dinner where I apologized to my entire Family, but especially my Son, for making them think my lack of hearing was their fault. Thanks to Dr. Adam and the new hearing aides he helped me select out of the many choices available all that is behind me now! After being in the ER until 2a, I was exhausted. So, I didn't hear my phone ring at 9a the next…read moreday. I missed the call from my awesomely concerned family doctor who had already reviewed my ER records despite the fact that it was a holiday and she was supposed to be relaxing. She wanted to have me come in for a follow-up exam. Since I didn't recognize the number and my voicemail box was jammed full, I didn't know I was supposed to go in. But on Thanksgiving, in the evening, when I relapsed into that toxic pain and shaking, my family called Dr. Rentel. She was there, and she had advice. She got me through the night and saw me first thing Monday. This is the most compassionate doctor. I love her to pieces. She has her patients' best interest in mind. She really cares about your health. And she's funny and easy to talk to. I have high praise for Dr. Rentel. If you're looking for a new family doctor, definitely try to get in with her. It will be tough. Since she's so amazing, she's always booked full. But if you happen to call the office when they're taking new patients, you musn't undervalue the opportunity. Jump on it! Dr. Rentel is the best.

After spending a couple weeks not feeling like I could breath so well, and getting kind of nervous…read moreabout it, I went to the ER desperate for relief in the middle of the night. They sent me away with anxiety meds. Needless to say, I didn't take them and went to see Dr. Rentel the following Monday. By chance, I was assigned to her when I was a student at OSU in the student health department. She asked me if I had allergies, to which I replied NO. She took a good look at me and said, "Yes you do." She gave me oral steroids and within 24 hours my breathing issues were totally resolved. Turns out, I have a severe grass pollen allergy that developed as an adult and procudes asthma. I'm now taking allergy shots to help build a tolerance to my allergies and symptoms. I wasn't crazy afterall!
