We visited the Columbus zoo recently and we loved it! The zoo itself is huge, and thoughtfully laid out. There is ample signage, and plenty of benches throughout to take a rest from all the walking you'll be doing. Seriously, we were there for 3.5 hours and didn't even see everything. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the habitats; animals seemed to have plenty of space and enrichment. The map on the mobile app is also great, letting you know where you are and what's around you. Would return if we're ever back in the area.

The Columbus Zoo has definitely been updated to view many animals and in some spaces interact with as well. The zoo hosts are very knowledgeable about the animal spaces that individually oversee which makes for wondered questions to be answered. Leave space to make it an all day experience or do one side then the other next time. Plenty of foods stops and food side stations. Definitely wheelchair access to everything and there is even a train ride you can take too. Lots of clean family fun to be had and they're STILL expanding the zoo for more animals to see. You will not be disappointed

Came in for zoo after 2pm. Always a great time with plenty of attractions. Worth the price at this time and it's not overcrowded during this season. Very pricy food of course. 3 meals will cost you over 100$.

    Beautiful healthy animals everywhere!

CZaA is a very good zoo (with the water park right there, it's a great little weekend getaway for out-of-towners). Some of the zoo areas have recently been refurbished and animal care as well as enclosures are well maintained -- most of the time. However, I'd have to say that the zoo administration should do a little better job of keeping tabs on cleanliness throughout the park every day. Restrooms can get a bit neglected and dirty/smelly, sticky/dirty benches and railings can be a turn off - surfaces should be regularly wiped down - like continuously and repeatedly. Keeping walk ways swept and neat should be a priority. Hire more maintenance staff if need be, but by all means don't let it become run down by lack of maintenance and cleaning. Keep the zoo a great attraction all the time.

shut up or Columbus Zoo will sue you via Porter Wright.

Be careful complaining here... if you pipe up too loudly they will sue you because their feelings got hurt. Do not *dare* talk about ADA access issues or Columbus Zoo will send Porter Wright after you and threaten you with monetary damages. They don't care If your autistic kid has sensory issues, and suffers due to ableist policy. They WILL drain your bank account with malice, and make you retain legal counsel, all because you complained. Threatening you over Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Memorial Day are all on the table for pressuring you to shut up and cease ADA advocacy at the expense of your first amendment rights. https://www.pacermonitor.com/public/case/62272710/Columbus_Zoological_Park_Association_v_Finisterre

Beautiful zoo. Animals seem to really be taken care of and the facility is nice. Bummed that we went at the end of March where a lot of exhibits were closed due to renovations and the animals were up because of the cooler weather (totally understandable). We walked the entire zoo (9k steps) and saw maybe 20 animals? So it would've been nice to have a reduced rate because of this. Still a great zoo and I can really tell that when everything is open, it's unbelievable.

We went to the ColumbusZoo the weekend before Halloween, and it was a great time to visit. We were visiting from Pittsburgh for a long weekend, and we decided to try out the famous Columbus zoo. In the end, it was completely worth it! We were at the zoo for almost 4 hours walked many miles and got to see every single animal that you could think of. There were not a lot of workers walking around but anytime you need said something someone was there. We loved the little extra, added, touches all over the zoo of Halloween as well as the places small kids could get candy if they dress up in their costumes.

We went today and had a great time. We didn't go till midday so some of the animals were hidden away in their enclosures where it was cooler. All of the exhibits were well thought out and nice.

If you don't have a zoo pass, this can be really expensive to go to. I highly recommend buying an annual pass as it would be worth it to go here all year round. Came to leave this review with regard to one thing that I had not realized about the zoo and that was these zoo animal scooters. Whoever invented these was a genius and my kids that are not little kids mind you, loved it. After watching my 21-year-old right around on this thing all night long I was thinking to myself that I wish I would've gotten one as well, lol! Great job Columbus zoo.

Visiting from New Hampshire Would recommend Would return You do not have to print your tickets. You can purchase them online and put them in your Apple wallet or Google wallet Parking is $10 to enter The park opens at 9 AM. We got there at 9 AM and we ended up leaving at four and there were some areas that were closed off, but I would plan on spending from open to close there. There is lots of food and vendors and merchandise throughout the entire park. I personally didn't purchase anything. I brought my own stuff. They do allow you to bring your bag in with your food or whatever it is you need with no questions asked. Clean very family oriented lots of shows and other events going on during the day if you wanted to do those things instead of just walking around and seeing the animals for yourself The volunteers were very informative of the animals A great day

Great time today at the Columbus Zoo. If you have the opportunity, I recommend purchasing the two small pieces of fish and feed the sting rays. It's an interaction I won't soon forget. We could have spent an hour watching and petting them as they sped past us.

This was an incredible day. The zoo had every corner of the earth covered. From land to sea it was amazing the variety of wildlife and sea creatures I saw today. So much love and care has been put into the zoo. Every person I encountered was kind and considerate. It was super clean and well organized. Tons of food options . Was fun to have an afternoon beer. What a great experience. I recommend this to anyone visiting Columbus Ohio to take a day and enjoy yourself at the zoo. You'll be so happy you went.

This zoo just keeps getting better and better. Animals I've never heard of and beautifully laid out. Love that it's divided into sections- Asia, Africa etc. wherever we went there was always a staff member, docent , volunteer standing there giving great info on the exhibit. They are sooo friendly and knowledgeable. The zoo is very clean. Heads up - it is a cashless venue and it is pricey but worth it. We had lunch at a beautiful food court I think in Australia area - they had pizza from Harvest Pizzaria . We both got 2 pizzas and 2 fountain drinks . It was over $40. Pizza didn't look good and tasted even worse. Pass on that and get a burger and fries. It's a lot of walking so wear comfy shoes and reapply sunscreen.

While your down there your using a provided map to guide yourself around and match the corresponding areas ( Ex; A to A or 1-1 ) We went after it had just rained the night before, so everything was VERY wet. Wear waterproof/walking shoes if you plan on exploring. Be prepared to get dripped on by very cold water coming off nearby rocks, and the "ceiling". Coming down the initial very steep stairs is a beautiful view of different levels of rocks decending into a tunnel/cave where the rest of the cavers are. Tons of puddles all over the ground from collected rain water and the "droplets". Most the areas are about big enough for one person to walk through the tunnel areas at one time, and if your a larger person i DO NOT recommend going down there. Some areas are extremely tight and really only accessible to someone under 4'5 and around 100 pounds or less. (Im 5'4, 140 and some areas i almost got stuck cause it was too tight going through the rocks. It is neat to see though, i dont think id want to do it again as it is just wet rocks and the furthest tunnel was closed from the previous year that occurred from some heavy rain water. (The water collected, over time causing a collapse). So that was kind of a bummer but i get it for safety reasons. The gem mining was fun, definitely loaded with a lot of "gravel" type rocks so that was new for me, Ive only ever had ones with dirt/sand that yield rocks/gems/shark teeth. We found some really interesting gemstones in each tray. The petting zoo was great. I thought it wad Going to be boring and smelly, and i was happily wrong. The goats were adorable, when we came in a baby jumped through the fence and was following our group. And when we came inside the "pen" to pet them he ran back in it was very cute! The deer were a little skittish but very sweet and gentle. The treasure hunt/maze was VERY fun we enjoyed getting different prizes snd trading them within the group.

There's also some guard rails up top so you can get close to the dam and look down near some cute little benches and tables where you can enjoy your snacks. You'll see O'Shaughnessy Dam, pumping tons of water from the Scioto River into the faucets of the fine people of Dublin and Columbus and surrounding Ohio areas. This is a really neat park. It's not a park-park, but more of a place with picnic benches and a big grassy area, where you can relax and enjoy the outdoors while looking and listening to the water fall in the dam. The ambient sound of the water is relaxing -- it's just so big and loud and repetitive. I could hang out and listen to it and stare at the water for hours. However, I only got to stay and listen to the water for a minute or two, because I had children with me. Children don't appreciate standing in one place and listening to water. What kids do appreciate is exploring, and so we set off to check out what else Glick Park & Overlook had to offer. If you feel like walking a bit, there's a dirt path that goes down to the base of the dam, which will give you an up-close look at the falling water. When we visited, there were two people fishing, so I'm thinking that this might be a good place to fish. There was also a sign that warns visitors that if they hear a siren, then they should GTFO and seek higher ground. So, like, maybe don't visit when the river is high? Or maybe just keep an ear out for a siren, just in case. The walk down to the base of the dam and back up again isn't too steep, but it could have some people huffing and puffing, so keep that in mind. The path was smooth and should be OK for strollers and wheelchairs. Parking was plentiful when we visited. There were lots of spaces, and the parking lot is conveniently located right by the picnic area.

Visiting from New Hampshire Will recommend…read more Would return I actually wasn't quite sure how I was going to feel about this park after reading all of the reviews I kind of felt like I didn't wanna go, but let me just reassure you please make that decision based upon your own experience because mine was very different than what the reviews I was reading about There is plenty of parking you do not have to print your tickets The big issue they're making about coolers is really not that big of an issue. You just have to leave your cooler outside of where the water area is. There's a big covered area where the coolers go, and there was more than a dozen to two dozen coolers left in there and people would just come out of the water area and get their coolers, which was no more than a five minute walk less than Also, there was some complaints about not being able to bring food in there with you again the food you cannot bring into the water area, but you can bring anything you want in the cooler area and honestly, can you only imagine what the water would look like if you allowed all of these people bringing in all this food I was able to rent a locker to fit a beach bag with two towels, two pairs of shoes and a water bottle for $12 all day There was plenty of open chairs to sit on even if you wanted to leave your towels on the chairs nobody was going to be taking your towels I even seen wallets and phones As for the food, sure if you wanna eat before then that would be a great idea. My husband and I each had a chicken finger sandwich that had three large pieces of chicken tender on it and they were hand battered chicken tenders and they were $16 apiece with a bag of chips whatever we were hungry we ate it. It wasn't totally disgusting. We had no lines no waiting for the slides. There are large amount of stairs to the slides, which is why we ended up needing some food during our time here. I also want to point out that all of these waterslides are for multiple riders meaning 2 to 4 there is two slides in the whole park that are single rider slides The park was clean. I went to water parks before it just looks like a waterpark. There wasn't an overabundance of trash, floating in the water like it says there wasn't piles of shit like it says. As for the lifeguards, I also read that they are not very friendly. I find that to be faults. They are all doing their job there so they're not going to go out of their way to interact with you. If you speak to them, you will get spoken back to you, but as you will watch and see them, they are very aggressively doing their jobs So please again make your own review. Don't just not go because of what you're reading and I hope that my review will help you to get there to decide.
