My wife and I made reservations through Expedia with Traveler's Inn for Tue, Jul 28 to Wed, Jul 29, (Itinerary # 73463144264880). We were planning to stay there on our way to Santa Barbara, CA where I was to perform some music at a friend's wedding, but then I just received the bad news that I will be needing to start radiation therapy for prostate cancer in July. The treatment involves 8 weeks of radiation sessions, 5 days per week, and must be uninterrupted. At a time when anxiety and stress are elevated I have to deal with spending $93.00 for a hotel stay that I can't use! Cancelling seven weeks in advance didn't seem matter to Traveler's Inn! How horrible is it that a business can be so cold and uninterested in an individual's specific circumstances, and does not offer a refund. I could understand it, and it would be justifiable, if the cancellation came within 1 week of the reserved date, because it might be difficult to fill that room in such a short time. But 7 weeks in advance!?!?!? I am so shocked by such a policy. I'm sorry to vent so much anger and frustration like this, but I am overwhelmed by the user-unfriendliness of this policy.

I got 2 of their personal pizzas ( one combo and one hamburger) to go which were both deep dish. Wow -- loaded with toppings and delicious! So surprised as to how good it was! They also have large pizzas (see pic) if you want to feed a large family! They have inside dining and takeout. It was quite busy with tourists heading home from the holidays! Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the service. My burrito lacked seasoning and overall flavor. It wasn't terrible, but it was bland and forgettable. The friendly service was the highlight of the visit, but based on the food and price, I wouldn't return.

There are also port a potty bathrooms, although they were locked. The location is basically at the end of a road behind a liquor store. Isn't that where the best tacos always are, somewhere off the beaten path? So before ordering, I did see a sign which I interpreted as "extra salsa costs money", which I find kind of annoying. Depending on how the salsa is, I may want to douse every bite in it, so I was hoping that at least what they did give was good. As it turned out, I didn't need to worry, since the sign actually means "no salsa included - at all". So that's kind of lame, what kind of place doesn't give you any salsa at all? Onto the burrito - despite no salsa, this was a very good burrito. A bit greasy, with a fair amount of oil leaking out, but that's normal for fatty braised meat like cabeza. Some salsa verde would have been welcome though. Size-wise it was totally worth it, the ingredients were well integrated, and the tortilla was chewy and held together to the last bite. The wrapping job was also good, so aside from the grease overflowing from my big bites, there were no leaks. I live nowhere near this place so I can't imagine when or if I'll be back, but as far as a good pit stop on I5 this place delivers.
