She was super friendly over email, which made me feel better about trying a fairly intimidating new hobby at 27 lol. It has now been about a month since I started attending the intro class, and I wanted to write about my positive experience here. This is a family owned gym that cultivates a welcoming environment. All of the coaches are passionate and knowledgeable about the sport. Also, not only am I learning a lot, but it's also a KILLER workout!!! I genuinely look forward to coming here 2x a week I would highly recommend coming here if you're interested in learning more about Muay Thai!

I was very happy with the class,Chris ran an organized class ,he had a solid ability to impart information and make sure everyone was on point for the drills,gave each of the fighters tips on their technique. Again, this is the first time she had ever tried this so expectations should be low. From what I could see my daughter was doing great, but the instructor seemed to be very serious and in the end she said my daughter was not "ready" while she seemed to be doing just fine compared to even some of the kids that were there for awhile. How is some supposed to learn if you don't train them and give them more than one chance? You don't just give up on someone with only one try. My daughter was very excited when she got home and was hoping to go for a second round. Very disappointing and unprofessional as you're supposed to train these kids and not give up on them this quickly. These aren't adults and the instructor is supposed to teach them the skills if they feel like they are initially lacking. As someone who did martial arts around the same age as my daughter and for many years of my life, I'm shocked and appalled and the lack of empathy and care from this place.

This review is based on a trial for the age 4-7 kids class…read more Before class started, the coach was speaking to a kid in a "you better or else" way and we thought maybe he was a parent speaking to his kid. He wasn't. It wasn't. The coach shoved a kid forward, and our initial thought was the kid tripped and lost his balance but no.. it was clear he was shoved when the coach shoved another kid and he did the same topple forward motion, while saying "get over there you know where you're supposed to be" NOTE: he did NOT shove every kid. These 2 appeared to be particularly familiar with the coach. The coaches made little to no attempt to build rapport, engage or really help the new kid. When said new kid raised a concern, he was ignored by the main coach and then brushed off by the second one. Overall, Lute is a little cheaper, but not a great environment for kids IMHO. It's a shame as it is physically the closest gym to us so would be the most convenient. I really wanted it to work out, but I just couldn't get on board with their environment and approach (or lack thereof) Whoever does the email correspondence comes off a little abrasive, but the woman filling in for the front desk person was nice enough.

There are just a crap load of students jammed into a small dojo. Kids are just ran through a meat grinder and belt ceremonies are a joke. There are kids who have no clue what they are doing and still get new belts. When I took tkd as a kid my instructors were strict and focused on training and technique. I don't see that here.

It allowed me to get an extra hour of a workout in during the week and now I'm hooked! Krav is a real world self-defense that makes me feel strong and prepares me for real life situations. ASD also offers many other classes and so many talented instructors! Coach Shayne has been a big influence on myself and my husband. He continues to help us learn proper fighting techniques. Andrea is an awesome coach who continues to amaze us! Amit, Troy, Chris, Sergey, Marziya, and Jason have all taught me so much in Krav. Ilya's Hyrox and Fighter Flow classes are fun and a great workout! He also has a cook book that explains easy and healthy recipes! Manny's Boot Camp/kickboxing classes are always intense and will leave you sore. James' DEKA class was creative, hard and definitely worth a try! My son has enjoyed the Kids Krav classes....thank you James, Andrea, Anh and Marziya for teaching the big group of kids! I love watching him come home and practice and share what he learned. We often compare what we are all doing in class during the week. I can't forget Neal, the owner! And Carrie at the front desk! They always make us feel welcome and at home! I learned that Cantrelle's Martial Arts has been around for about 20 years or so now and I can attest their business ethic proves what they offer is excellent.
